  1. is that tullarmarine way'ish? you could take to troy.. ylwgtr2 (for the PM)
  2. i'm still trying mate... i'll PM him now as well... DT Panels said it would cost another 200-300 ontop of the respray to get the windows out, someone comes to their workshop. They reckon the dude has neve broken a window. can't the workshop you're taking it too take 'em out??
  3. i've spoke to ppl at porsche, who've done testing not only with the 997 Turbo and the new GTR... the GTR by their accounts, is MORE than up to the task... all i know is that in straight line speed it's just as quick. So we know the power is going to be very comparable. With lotus on board for the suspension, and awd drive... i'm very confident it's not only going to be a winner, but AT LEAST level par with the 997 turbo, for half the price. If you got a R34 GTR Vspec here in say 2002, it was around $140k. 2002 996 Turbo was still $315k for the non-s version. No the R34 GTR Vspec was not up to the factory 996 Turbo, although $15-20K would take care of that and then some... so it's still great value. Tekin, i hope Nissan has the sense to realise that there is going to be a psychological barrier for ppl buying a "Nissan" for $240k, i'd imagine $200k is that barrier. Even if it's $170k-$180K they're going to have to preach hard to tell ppl what crazy bang for buck they're getting. Oh for sure, we're speculating. But i have a lot of confidence that Nissan can do the job. So i'll just leave it as "997 Turbo competitor/beater for half the price" - that's my view
  4. i'm interested in taking 2 off you if they're all good... don't have Xenons in your r34?
  5. there u go, $18k 3 yr old clio sport... much better option i think, something for like $15k if you want a decent car. Why spend $35k-$40k now if you're just going to get a line later?
  6. gone from $240K to $200 now hey tekin? just stirrin... anyways, we shall see what the showroom price will be. You reckon $240k, i reckon $150k - $170k, maybe nudging the $180K mark. you hope to import one?? um... why? released 2007, or possibly 2008 here, that's 7-8 years of depreciation locally, how is that any different to importing one? You'll be able to drive the car here when checking out a 2nd hand one, have Nissan dealerships that would have been specialising in servicing them and getting parts for them, have aftermarket parts more readily available for it because the GTR would have been here from the VERY start, as oppose to waiting for a RAWS workshop to fork out massive $ to be the first one to get approval for them, then waiting for DOTARS to approve them, which could keep us waiting for an indefinite amount of time. Then, that workshop charging whatever the hell it wants for compliance to get them here, and most likely having to ditch certain things that don't match our pathetic ADR's.. In 7-8 years, there would already be modified GTR's, so you could get a modded one straight away and with ppl spending $150k+, the real enthusiasts wouldn't have spare a single cent modifying properly. The benefits are friggen endless... it is better for us to have them brought here locally. Of course we aren't going to buy them brand spankin' new... did you buy your R33 GTR new?
  7. do u need to buy a spankin new car? if you're going to get a 'line again, and do some serious mods, i think it's just a waste of money getting a new car now. Just keep going with your craptacular lancer, and have lots of $$ to chuck at a line, maybe even a R34 GTR, the way prices are going... i'm not sure what $$'s you're playing with.. i don't think getting a brand new car in the mean time is the way...
  8. wic! (there's another word for ya) and wtf!! Z Tune in oz???????????
  9. oh ok... well i did DIY rim change a few months back... maybe i should go get an alignment then. thanks
  10. my car sometimes has a mind of it's own on some roads where there are those kinda ruts? like it's a full proper lane, but just had a lot of use, so there is like a wave in the road. My car will ALWAYS wander whenever there is a wavey road... would that be my HICAS? kinda tramlining of sorts...
  11. i've had a sneak peak at the skirts... nice stuff
  12. $240k? hahahahahaha, not a chance, try about $170K - won't be close to $200K. If they do this petrol/electric thing, i can't see petrol being a "huge" problem, plus someone spending $150k on a car is not worried about petrol. so.... in other words... no
  13. hahhaa cutting it fine! interesting to see that Judges see these things as benefitially... i'm not saying they're not though...
  14. couldn't find one for my R34... can't wait to 97r33gtst finds this thread I've put an HID kit into my R34 after the xenon's were butchered due to compliance, and i've got OEM Xenon assembly's and the light i still shit. My headlights have the shield/reflector cone for the globe, so i cannot imagine how bright your lights must be when you have no shield over the globe!!! damn!! bottom line, take them out... sell them. get some halogen/xenon bloges. H1 globes filled with xenon gas... won't destroy ppl's vision and are cheap as cheap in comparison. look for some of these maybe...
  15. ouch... that's a lot to spend on headlights
  16. oh adz, sorry, i mean, cost to "take out, put back in" windows. So for respray purposes a new windscreen wasn't as "bend-over" as i thought... i had to get it done for RWC, some crap about sand blasting... pfft... anyways.. it was like $100, i'm not 100%, i'll dig the receipt out but i thought it was quite reasonable for labour and parts.
  17. you've got one too!? anywho... i wanna hear the snake story! SNAKE STORY! SNAKE STORY! SNAKE STORY! SNAKE STORY! SNAKE STORY! SNAKE STORY!
  18. i too have been contemplating this... should the Advans go under the knife so to speak? and also spraying brake calipers gold
  19. i would highly suspect that you'd need to go to troy... Tullamarine way hey adz, how does $400 sound for rear/front windscreen, and rear quarters?
  20. not sure if DNA Auto would be the best way to go but have been pointed in the direction of DT Panels... initial phone call was quite promising... i took the advice, and headed to OzHonda... http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.ph...0966&page=2 sooo... anyone else have experience with DT Panels?
  21. i guess 4 refers to a lively dog, running around in the middle of the road..hence give it some room, so you don't hit it... but it sounds so much better the way they phrased it
  22. hahaha, skid demon!! that's awesome!!! nothing better than some good engrish
  23. i think it's just been de-tinted? any windscreen place could do it i suppose, o'briens.... etc. etc... you going for the respray mate? i'm keen to see your car when it's done... being kept under wraps a bit ey?
  24. DNA Auto Works Pty Ltd 4 Murdock St Clayton South 3169 (03) 9543 3320 (from whitepages.com.au) doesn't ring any bells? i'm a bit hesitant to use a place for a respray when no one here has heard of them, not necessarily a bad thing... but yeah... i don't want to be going through the whole process again 6 months down the track.
