  18. Theres a crapload of tutorials on the net. Just do a google search. Or you could buy a good photography book or 2, that would surely help you understand the techinical aspects and other things.
  19. The 50mm f/1.8 is a good lens for money and should really be in everyones kit. If you like shooting landscapes you'll need something wide. You can pick up 2nd hand 17-85mm IS lenses for about $600, I just sold mine for that actually. That gives you probably enough wide angle for most landscapes and enough zoom range as a walk around lens.

    Tripod

    Hey all, I know there a few experienced photographers here so my question is about a tripod. I need one that will hold my canon 20D and my heaviest lens is the EF 70-200 2.8L IS (1.5kg). So the tripod will need to hold that gear at a minimum. I want a bogen/manfrotto setup. Budget is around $500 tops for this setup. Not sure of the head as yet. Do you guys like the ball heads and pistol grips? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Cheers.
