  1. Hi people, I bought a Greddy Electric Boost Gauge off a person here and im having problems wiring the bugger up. Now when i got it in the mail it had 4 wires: RED, WHITE, BROWN *i think brown anyways* AND BLACK. The 3 wires (apart from the black ground) were inter-twined together. When i wired it up using ALL 3 wires into the one power source it turned on no worries. HOWEVER, the Needle sits as far CLOCKWISE as possible resting on the lil stump thingo when it gets power and when it is OFF it sits just away from the stump. I connected all the vaccume lines etc and the Gauge is NOT working. Does anybody have any experience with these types of gauges ?? Im really keen to get it sorted asap as i hacked up my DIN pocket under my headset for it and i wanna get some tips before i pull all that rubbish off again. Any ideas on what to check or do? Or did i get JIPPED by a SAU person? Haro

  7. OK... Done like a dinner ! The low pass filter from Jay Car was about $30 so thats ok. Didnt have to build it or anything, just bought it off the shelf. Works a treat. Now i just have to work on that bloody engine whine noise that soo many people get. I think i just will try a better amp. Thanks for your help people. HAro
  8. Low pass hey? Sounds like a plan, i will roll out to a Jay car over the next few days, these forums are tops for gettin some answers quickly. Thanks Guys, now all i have to do is organise a time to pull apart all my "install" and get into it! Cheers Haro
  9. Hi people, I have installed a 4ch amp into my car and it is an Old School one that a friend just gave to me and seems to work rather well and am very happy with it. However, I want to add a sub as the ol 4" splits and 6" in the back dont offer me enough kick. I have a 15" JL Audio Sub that i had in my last car and i want to use it as i couldnt stuffed buyin another one. MY plan is to run 2ch bridged into sub and other 2 running my splits. 6"s will run off my head-deck. Question : Because the Amp is OLD it does not have a high low pass switch on it, and i am wondering if anybody has heard of a High Pass Filter that is available that i could use for my sub (much the same way as the cross overs work for my splits) ?? Does anybody have any ideas? Appreciate any feedback ! Cheers HAro
  10. AHHH BUGGER!! I just got one today about 30 min before your post... was 100. Hmm. Thanks anyway mate, if i have anymore grief with THIS one, ill get in touch with you. Thanks again HAro

  12. OK I finally got around to removing the AFM a couple of weeks ago and cleaned it out using some contact cleaner and just a general clean up of the plug and connection etc etc. And guess what... it worked a CHARM. I drove it around for a good few days and even gave it some real hard loving and didnt feel a single problem. Anyways, as it is my mates car and i have been baby sitting it, when he took it back. He got about a days worth of decent driving outta it and then the problem came back. He is rather annoyed. So i think its time to find a replacement AFM, im workin on a few leads at the moment but if anybody has seen one for sale or HAS one for sale, let me know. Cheers Haro
  13. HI, My mate needs a replacement AFM for his AUTO rb20 turbo Skyline. Havin all sorts of grief with it at the moment,. Ive been told that the series 1 R33 AFM is the same... Im in brissy can pick up. Cheers Haro
  14. I had similar problems with one of my previous cars and yes it does drive you insane listening to the little noise.... I tried everything, from rewiring my cables to run down other side of car (didnt help), i put the amp raised behind the seat as opposed to on the floor with still no love. THEN i bought top quality RCAs to run to my AMP with heaps of insulation.... but again NO LUCK.... i was basically freakin out by this stage and simply gave up. BUT then i decided to try a different amp (Alpine from memory) and the noise vanished..... very frustrating as i even tried it with the crappiest RCA cables you could get (the ones from normal home stereo) and it STILL worked a treat. I concluded that it must have been my somewhat cheap amp, cant even remember brand... Hope that helps. Haro
  15. Hi guys, doesnt seem to be using much if any oil, i just changed it tho so will watch it,. yes i think i will have to find myself an AFM just for a test i spose, then work from there. Thanks for the input, Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Haro
  16. Cheers Joel, I will begin the search for my mate, he owes me BIG time for this one.!! So the rb25 uses the same or similar hey..? noice... i assume u mean NON TURBO. Thank you! Haro
  17. Hi, Thank for your ideas guys, i did the diagnostic on the computer and it came up with code 55 which means "no malfunction" i was thinking that because the problem is intermitant maybe the ECU would not notice it unless it was actually driving and the stall / splutter occured. I think its time that i slap in a different air flow meter just to test if that is the problem. I know this is probably a stupid question but would a GTR AFM fit / suit? Its just i have access to heaps of these for free as opposed for searching for a second hand standard one. So maybe the boys and gals at my local Nissan Dealer will have to help me out with figuring it out, just dont want my mate to have to buy a new AFM prob a fair bit... LET the hunting begin! Any other ideas? I appreciate your efforts! Haro
  18. Ahhh, Thats what i was thinkin, cheers for the input champ. I happen to like addAtives. Anybody else have any input Haro
  19. Hi people, My friend has just bought himself a 1989 R32 GTS-t and its an AUTO-MAGIC, seems to be running a lil "off" For about 70% of the time the car runs fine for just normal running around, however, it seems to cough and splutter a fair bit, when driving, it all of a sudden loses power and basically slows to halt and stalls! The car does start again (after a few goes) but very annoying. It does not always get to the stage of stalling but does miss quite bad sometimes. There is no backfire noises or anything. Sometimes when driving, the car does not rev over 2500rpm, feels as tho it is hitting rev limiter but at that revs. Any ideas? We changed the oil today (added Uni-Glide) and plugs, cleaned air filter and new oil filter. Planning on changin fuel filter this week (early) The car has done 130 000 and its had some fuel additive (Motor Up's "Fuel UP") to clean it out a lil. The car is basically standard, with only a K & N pod filter, and Cat bAck exhaust. I plan on takin it to get "tuned / looked at" IF i cannot rectify problem myself. Does anybody have any ideas or thoughts on this matter? I would really appreciate it. At this stage im thinkin it may be somthing like an O2 sensore problem or AFM??? (from reading other threads) ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Cheers Haro
  20. Hi mate, can u please swing me some pics of the PIMP hat and also the cordless phone and some details... also , where are you located? cheers haro [email protected]

  24. My car got ripped royale!! took the MD/CD head unit, gear knob, skyline floor mats, driving lights and my rear speakers were torn out of the parcel shelf (ruined that also). The front spoiler copped a few hits here and there and cracked the lip. The warfies are very dodgy individuals. I used kiwi car carriers also. didnt get anything on insurance coz they said i couldnt prove it happend on the boat despite the fact i had pics of it before it got loaded. Its a big crock of shit. Prepare yourself for a let down........ Containers are the Way people, may cost more, but u can fill em up with all sorts of goodies (turbos, wheels, coolers) and nothin gets flogged coz they are not allowed to open it unless u are there. Also u can fit 4 cars in some containers! Good luck. Haro
