Carbon Goods For R32/r33/r34/s15/s14/ct9A Evo7-9 Round 2 Group Buy!
sleptema replied to dori34's topic in Group Buys
Tarzan grip. It seemed to stick alright, but would just unstick after a few days, and I put it down to the heat of the headlights as it seemed to 'slide' down. Like the previous post before me said, I am going to try source some 3m VHB tape. If anyone knows where to get it commercially please let me know, or else I will have to get it special ordered through my work maybe.. -

After closer inspection it looks almost like my headlights have been melting the tape.. I have heard 3m is the best, I will try this tape and post results. -

I am having trouble getting my eyelids to stick. I have used 2 different types of double sided tape, in different quantities, and it still seems to fall off in 2-3 days. I am cleaning the headlight beforehand, doing everything it asks.. Any advice anyone can give me..? -
Top Mount/ff Plenum/fmic Convertion
sleptema replied to sleptema's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Thanks for all the help guys, I guess I am biting off more then I can chew. I do think I should put more money into suspension and braking.. I would like some decent brakes and bigger swaybars.. Cheers for the advice, I will take everyones into account. Stay tuned for results. -

So why would high flowing my current turbo be better then getting a new one? Is it because there is direct bolt on and off? Whereas with other turbos I need oil/water lines, flanges, manifolds? -

Yeah I asked the guy who tuned it if 13.5 is too high, because from what I have read 12psi is as high as you should go.. He said it is fine until 14... But yeah, when I got it dynoed stock standard I got 235rwhp at imports101 dyno, my retune with my ecu and ebc only got 240, but it was from c-red's dyno. I agree the dyno results are low, and looking at the rb25det thread (which I should have done in the first place) it should be making around 260+ rwhp. Sorry for not reading that first guys, I must have skipped over it when I was flicking through this on my phone.. Either way, I will look into highflowing my turbo. Plasmaman also has a nice fmic+plenum+tb kit for 3k which I may also get. Probably sard800cc injectors and bosch044 fuel pump + turbosmart fuel regulator. Should easily push 300 then. I am still keen to see what people think though, I am always happy for advice. -

I have the dyno sheet here http://imageshack.us/scaled/landing/208/dynos.jpg Running 13.5psi.. So you think something is wrong with my engine..? Why is it so bad to hit limiter? I have heard it's cause the oil pump shits itself on limiter..? -

And what is wrong with wanting peoples Advice? What's wrong with my dyno results? -
Hey SAU. I am thinking about taking my ride to the next level.. Currently 240rwhp (r34 gtt) with minor mods; just power fc, profec b ebc, pod, 3' turbo back exhaust, splitfire coils.. I basically want a really clean engine bay and i think the best way to achieve this is to go top mount, front mount aftercooler and a forward facing plenum with tb. I am aware that my injectors need to be replaced if i am to run any more boost.. I am looking to run around 300rwhp, but responsive. The parts that i need/want i THINK are: Turbo (i haven't decided what brand or comp housing sizes yet, advices please? High mount manifold (i would need a new exhaust made up to suit new manifold yes?) Fmic (was thinking plasmaman?) Fuel pump and regulator (bosch 044 should suffice) Injectors (no clue how large i would need to go) Forward facing plenum and fuel rail (probably go for a greddy) Breather catch can (make the rocker covers look a little nicer...) Cams (tomei poncams yeah..?) Do i need a new throttle body? Are there good conversion kits avaliable? I've heard i need a metal head gasket at 300hp? But also heard if the head is torqued properly there is no need... If i do need the gasket, while the head is off do i get it ported and polished? And maybe shave 20thou off..? () is there anything i am missing? Oil and water pumps should be fine ay? I may also drop the redline down if i get all that done as i have heard overrevving is the cause of most rb engine failures.. Is this justified or 7k is just fine..? If there is a thread covering this kind of job (as I'm sure there is) can you please link me? I am on my phone and it is really hard to search. If my questions/choices seem noob - please don't abuse! I am here to learn, let me know why i am an idiot with justified and rational claims. Cheers dudes!

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
sleptema replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking and tyres
The offset most going around for 33/34 is 9.5+22 up front, running some stretch you can fit them in nicely with just a guard roll. I wouldn't go 12 up front unless you want to run a fair bit of camber, but on the rears that will sit pretty. -

Front -0.2 (closest they could get without camber arms..) Rear is natural because of the drop, it's around -1. -

Pretty happy with the lids. With the thinnest double sided tape I could find it doesn't quite sit flush with the rubber seal on the housing, but I am just being really petty, looks nice other wise. -

I think the law is 25mm outside the guards? Not too sure on that one, is just what I heard. I haven't got any cop attention at all, had cops pull up next to me and behind me. But yeah the more you lower your car the more camber it will naturally give it. Anyway it does look boss man - check out my pics a few pages back - black on black, same rims haha. EDIT: I see you commented on a pic of my car saying it was perfect fitment haha. -

Based on another 33gtst with 9+20 all round. Front was little poke, rears were a little inset. That is why I went 10+30 on rears for that extra little poke.. Don't get me wrong, still looks mean, if you want same size all round - that offset would be the go. -

Got my eyelids in the mail. Will post pics up this weekend when I get a chance to clean and fit. Cheers dori34, you have done an amazing job organizing all of this for everyone. -

Yeah, it's just a lip on the inside of your guard that needs to be pushed up to take off the sharp edge. He may be an idiot and thinks you mean flare? If he doesn't know what rolling is, goto someone else.. -

Predictions - Nice fitment on front, notsoflush on rears. 10mm spacers bro -

They should fit on no worries. How much poke - that I am not sure of. I think they may fit nicely. Does anyone know how much smaller 32 gtr guards are smaller then 33/34 gtst/gtt guards? -

18x9+24 still won't poke. That is a close to flush fitment, it will sit about 2-3mm inside the guard. Safe. Running 18x9.5+22 and it is poking around 5mm with 0 camber, your offset is 8mm further inset. With the 18x10+40 issue, a 15mm spacer will push it out to the same as the picture linked, which is my 18x10.5+30 245/40 http://sphotos-d.ak....154939089_n.jpg If you are going to push it out ^ that far, and slam it, you will need to run stretch and rolled guards unless you want to look mexican. -

18x10.5+0 Wow. Well you are looking at around 45mm outside the guards, if not more. That is an awful fitment choice, even with the flared guards. Maybe go for 9.5+26 all round. -

Assuming same width rim and tyre size, you are just going to poke 5mm more. No real issue if the others were a decent fit. -

Yeah, even 265's may be a sqeeze. I got 245 running on 10.5 and it has decent stretch, but not too excessive. 265 is the optimum size (I do believe) for 10's. Do 32 Rs come with 17's from stock? -

I would be keen to get that checked. That is a VERY large rim for the 32gtr. 33/34 R's may be able to run them but I am under the impression the 32 guards are smaller then 3/4s. Can anyone back me up on this?
