G'day Pete, thanks. Yeah as the boys have said the majority of the work has been carried out by Shaun and Troy @ Boostworx, with a reasonable amount of time and effort put in by yours truly.

Thanks, guys. I'm not actually sure, Steve. They were on the car when I bought it back in '98 or '99 - whenever it was. Volk Rays is all I know. I'd like to get 18s or 19s but I'm not ready to give up too much sidewall until I've achieved all I can on the drag strip.

Thanks x 2, dude

G'day all, Thanks for the 'votes' for my car. I wouldn't say my car is a typical Autosalon car but I guess it has a few of the major areas covered. Andrew (nuttsHunglow), I've never had my car in a full feature in a national publication. If you, and more importantly your editors think that my R33 is of the required standard (and is what you're looking for) I would be honoured to have it in a magazine. Cheers, Matt

Is There Any Reliable Ceramic Coater In Adelaide?
whatsisname replied to 9krpm's topic in South Australia
Hi Danh. I've had a lot of ceramic coating done through Laurie at Ceramic Coat Australia. He is a good bloke and has always looked after me. I've had parts (such as dump pipe, turbine housing, timing covers, various brackets etc.) coated in both Cermakrome and black. Nil problems to report so far. I think you'll find that the guys at CCA will recommend you use the higher temp' rated black coating for your turbine housings. The Cermakrome 'can' struggle to cope with the heat, especially in a circuit application. I've witnessed my turbine housing glowing a lovely bright red and the black coating took it in it's stride. -
For Sale: X Force stainless steel high mount RB25DET exhaust manifold & mirror polished custom stainless heat shield to suit. Designed to suit external wastegate (currently set-up for internal WG) with standard T3 flange. Perfect condition - has done 20klms of sedate road use & 2 x 5min dyno session and that's it! Only selling due to an offer too good to refuse on a custom 'money no option' merge collector manifold. RRP on X Force high mount RB25DET manifold is normally at least $849 / heat shield cost me $200. $400 for both. See attached pic's to get an idea of what this type of manifold looks like and the manifold + heat shield fitted to my car. Close-up current pictures of both items available within 2wks.

If you have a good driving record, aren't too young (they will NOT insure under 20yrs) and are a dedicated enthusiast then I would be giving Ryno Insurance a look. www.rynoinsurance.com.au They are much like Shannons in that they cater to the enthusiast market, however, I have found them to be much better priced without suffering a lack of quality of service, options, or coverage - and their underwriter has recently posted better figures than Shannons (ie they are as safe as any insurance company can be). As I posted earlier in this thread, I have agreed value of $38,000 (modified '94 R33 GTS25t), specific modifications are list in my policy, free windscreen coverage, my choice of repairer (any one I want), pay by the month with zero extra charges, and my premium is just over $900* * Note: I'm 34yrs old and have 'low use' noted on my policy (I do under 5,000klms per year - if that). I know of a few people that have had to make a claim on their Ryno policy... and not one complaint.

I've had a few 'average' experiences with Just Car insurance. Many years ago I was insured with JC, very briefly! They were... 'insert a four letter word here' I also had a young guy in a S14 200SX that decided he would turn right from the left hand lane of a two lane roundabout whilst I was proceeding straight ahead - he was insured with JC. I was in my girlfriend’s car at the time and it was covered by AAMI, which JC are connected with. Without going into detail all I will say is I was absolutely blown away by how unprofessional JC were at handling their client and his at-fault claim. I also found out that AAMI doesn’t really liaise with JC at all - food for thought. I am currently insured with Ryno Insurance Services. These guys are fantastic to deal with, offer a better level of service than Shannons (having dealt with Shannons in the past) and cater specifically to the modified enthusiast market. I have agreed value of $38,000.

A big thank you to Patrick (and Flick) for all your hard work and also for paying out of your own pocket for elements of the SAU display. Thank you to everyone that was involved and assisted in the lead-up and during the event (you know who you are). I’d also like to say ‘thanks mate’ to Shaun (Evil34) for helping me get my car up to scratch on the Saturday morning. Well done to all involved. Congratulations on the two club awards and Cara's individual award - not a bad effort for our first go! Thanks mate. It’s not finished yet… but I’m getting there. Cheers Dan. Good to meet you. Agreed! Hopefully won’t be too much longer. Sorry dude! I figured the event wasn’t far off finishing up (4-5pm) so I thought I may as well close it all up. You should’ve given me a yell, I would’ve been happy to open it up for you. Yep, that’s mine. Thanks mate. Mxtcy / Jared, Loved both your cars, both of them are super clean and have tasteful mods, in fact every one of the SAU cars looked the goods – including the SAU members cars that were entered in Autosalon outside of the SAU entry. Puresx is outstanding and in my opinion is the epitome of a ‘useable’ show car.

It's a pity Darren's R31 (blue Boostworx R31) wasn't on the road for this dyno day - a tidy ~480ishrwkw would help the total figure slightly!

Ah! So you are a fellow SAU'er, cool Thanks mate. It's pretty tame from the outside - just the way I like it. Yeah the HKS cams give it just enough 'attitude'. Your beast looks very tidy too and it doesn't have quite as many problems getting the power down in those wet conditions either. G'day Joel. Yes back on the road mate. It's only temporary unfortunately, back to the workshop for more playing with the turbo set-up as soon as Autosalon is over. I'm hoping it will be completed (for this round of mod's) in 1-2 months. Well, it's got potential I'll give it that. It looks like being too big on the exhaust side - currently a Turbonetics T3 Stage V (biggest they offer in that range and larger than the equivalent GT3540R combo'). The plan is to go down one size (Stage III - no stage IV ???) and this should give us the top end power with better response, I hope. We're going to switch to a new Tial EWG too. On the positive side there already appears to be another 30rwkw (on top of the ~290) in the compressor (more boost) cam timing and tuning once the exhaust combo' is sorted. I'll be happy with ~320rwkw peak power and a useable rev' range of ~4000ish rpm (~3000 - ~7000) anything over 320 will be a bonus. Martini 110 will also be trialed to see how much extra it's got in it until the head runs out of flow. It's changed a little bit since those early days

Spotted (and briefly chatted to) a dude in black QLD registered 32 GT-R on Portrush/Nth East Rds ~3-330pm today. Very nice car. If you're on SAU, sorry I couldn't 'play', the tune is not completely sorted yet - no more than 5krpm for me (~290rwkw so far with cam timing, fuel/timing tuning and more boost to come)
-
lol I'd love a new GT-R when they hit our shores, bit out of my price range though.
-
Ha-ha :laughing-smiley-014: Well spotted dude. Thanks! I've managed to find a bit more spare time lately, won't last for long though, unfortunately Wedding, reno's, car project, footy, gym, parenting... and work.

Hmmm... yeah but Daz, the insurance payout is never going to cover the massive loss (time, effort and money) that I would suffer if I lost my pride and joy to thieves... and I've got agreed value of $38k ('94 GTS25t)
