  1. It's less about that and more the potential for fluids to foul your vision (either in the eye on on the windscreen) and the potential for fume leaks from vacuum lines etc.
  2. I hope so. I really do. They were less than supportive in the past and refused any sort of compensation.
  3. You sent an ECU to Heltech? Oh god I hope they aren't as bad as they used to be. I know a couple of people (club members) who sent gear to Haltech for repairs/trouble shooting. Their response? "We don't support that model ECU anymore." and then they drilled a hole right through it. These were previous model ECU's as well, not some ancient rubbish but stuff maybe a year out of date.
  4. And does it count if I went to BBC on an academic scholarship?
  5. I'll have you know I was a top! And yes, I still have my boater kicking around somewhere.
  6. Brisbane Boys College and The Univeristy of Queensland
  7. Because I want no part of a minor party? I may want to run for a seat with the Libs somewhere down the line
  8. Mechanical gauges inside the car are a no no. Electric gauges only (unless something has changed). Mounting - can't obscure vision, can't be more forward than the front most part of your dash (hence no A-Pillar placement unless factory like the JDM S15) The new ADR's are a pain in the ass, trying to find the exact ones for you.
  9. Hmm... Looks like the AEMP are one step closer to securing the seat and one step closer to actually being able to influence stuff. All but one polling station and absentee votes are counted in Victoria and the AMEP still have the numbers. However, nationwide the numbers have shifted. The Coalition now have 34 seats in the Senate and it looks likely that the leftist block (Labor/Green) will have 35. Seven other seats - Democratic Labour Party, Liberal Democrats, Nick Xenophon, Palmer United, Family First, AMEP and Australian Sports. First to four supporters wins! No way that the Coalition will give up a speakers spot unless they get 5 of the independents on board.
  10. The issue and debate rested on how QR were now promoting the events. The argument was basically we are traveling no faster than road speeds, and it is NOT racing of any sort, how is it different to writing it off in a car park.
  11. It wasn't just the issues with a certain other club that caused the hike, the death at Lakeside recently combined with the number of cars being written off has added to it as well. Try telling an insurance company that you want to have 25-35 drivers on track at the same time, most with little to no experience and no one will be wearing a helmet. And for finalisation of the debate a few of us were having re: Happy laps and insurance - "You are not covered If your car was being used or tested in or for a race, trial, test or contest or on a competition circuit, course or arena." From Just Car.
  12. Put me in Will try wrangle some more people as well! I'll have to do a plasma donation however.

  16. pffft, haven't you heard, all the cool kids are putting push rod boat anchors in their cars.
  17. If HR guys like me can save big chunks of money I'm all for it Stress related work absences cost the US Economy $300 BILLION a year.
  18. Long story short not having a proper period of downtime at lunch increases stress significantly and doesn't give you a chance to recharge. As a result you are less likely to be as creative, as productive, as happy or as healthy in the long run and your work output and quality declines both in the short and long run. There is a decent amount of scientific research in the area, I can dig some up for you when I'm not so swamped with other research assignments if you'd like. I used a chunk of research into the area when preparing a workshop last year on why stress management needs more attention in business. In terms of directly linked stress issues that can actually be measured, work related stress accounts for losses to developed economies of approximately 2.1-3.6% of GDP. Why add to that figure by not taking 30 minutes away from your desk to unwind at lunch?
  19. Eating at your desk is bad for your health, your moral and your productivity. Just sayin' Also, a call for help to all my fellow whores! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/431683-request-for-photos-and-video-from-ths-year/

  21. Hi all, No doubt you have seen me running around at events all year with various GoPro's and cameras trying to capture a lot of stuff. Well I have decided I don't have anywhere near enough and want more, More, MORE!!! MU HA HA HA HAAAAAA! What I'm after is any film or photo's people have taken at SAu Qld events this year that they are willing to share with me. I want to try put together a video highlighting all the good fun we have had over the past 12 months Ideally I'd like the original files (photos in RAW, video in whatever the hell it comes out of your various cameras as) but will take links to YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, Instagram, Tumblr, Imgur, Picasa, Facebook and so on and so on. Have at it people! And for the record, I won't use Jazz to back the video this time. Will gladly accept ideas on music as well. My current pick is Radioactive by Imagine Dragons A second choice currently for me is We'll be coming back by Calvin Harris Anyways, have at it boys and girls!
