Your nuts having the pod down there!! If you get water sucked into your intake your 'no name' pod will cost you an RB25DET. Cheap pods will be made of thin material so the noise you are hearing is the normal intake noise with very little air restriction when its sucking in air. You can test this by removing the pod and using a stocking to cover the intake and if it sounds the same then you know its just the cheap thin make of the pod you have.

So has the car undergone the requirements for compliance im assuming when you say its good to go for rego? So with reg and transfer its at least another thousand bucks

The condition of the Maccas lease is no car more than 24 months FROM BUILD DATE and if so no more than 15,000km which pretty much rules out the R34. To be honest a bright Yellow Mk2 XR6 or a black Sti are the two stand outs

For those of you that don't know me I have been working in the Finance area of Govt for the last two years while studying. This week I applied and successfully got a job in the Finance Dept of McDonalds Australia which I am estatic about!! The package for my position includes a car either in a Novated or Operating lease arrangement. I unfortunetly must buy new or close to new as I was reading the contract with an R34 in mind! I have a budget of around 55k max and it looks like I wont be able to get an R34 with low enough km's to satify the conditions of the contract. I have a few options in mind so if you know something about the following cars from personal experiance then let me know: WRX Sti XR6 Turbo (Mk2) Maybe an Evo8 depending on availability and price. The other thing is I just brought an R32 which I have been spending big $$$ on restoring to mint condition. I might have to sell up!! I really love driving the little bastard though but I really wont need it.

Yeah sorry about the delay it's been one of those weeks! The cooler is on hold pending an inspection tomorrow!

How does that work Nev82??? He doesn't have to risk anything????? You want him to send the turbo and not pay till it arrives.. Seems llike a big risk to me! eg You may never pay

Yes to three things: Ride Height Two tyres One park light. Boost controller was installed free of charge when I had a new turbo installed last week. Its a very subtle unit that comes from Japan. You need an alan key to adjust it. I just said I didn't know what it was. As I gazed at the cop that booked me like he had just raped my sister he said "Look mate, it's for your own safety and others on the road. I did you a favour and I haven't issued a fine and I've allowed you to drive the car for 7 days while you fix all the defects so you have got off pretty lightly." I was thinking "F*ck you! There are hundreds of old bombs out there with worn drum brakes and shonky supension that would be far more dangerous than my car with 50% tread on the front and 95% on the rears with a 3mm difference in ride height. I would have liked to line his SS up and see who pulls up quicker at 80km hour to prove my line is safe. This is my forth import and 2nd skyline and I have been pulled up more times than I can imagine whilst driving like anyone else on the road.

NOT HAPPY! I have been promising another young bloke in my office he could take my car for a spin for a few weeks now and at lunchtime today I threw him the keys and said 'Let's go!" Anyway he started the car, taking it easy as the engine was cold, turned into a street leading into Victoria Parade in East Melbourne and sat at a red light. A patrol unit cruised up behind us waiting for the light to change. Traffic Light turns green, police sirens turn red and blue. The policeman comes to the window asks for Chris's (my mate from work) licence. I told him the car was mine and he said he thinks its too low and pulls out his wallet which is apparently 100mm high and confirms his theory. He goes back to the patrol car and comes back in five minutes saying another Traffic Enforcement Unit is on their way to go over my car. Mind you we are two blokes in suits, Government ID and both are fully licenced and not on P plates taking it easy without even going over 40kmh at any point of the drive. I said "come on mate, we're both public servants" He said "I couldn't give a f*ck if you were Steve Bracks" Anyway an unmarked SS patrol car popped in to join the party after about 20 minutes. Confirmed my ride hieght to be 97mm, my tyre tread is too low even though they have heaps of meat left, left park light is out. He told me to open the bonnet and tried to tell me that the pod filter is illegal. I somehow convinced him that if they are secure then they are legal. He wrote it down with a question mark He was looking at my boost controller and I told him I had no idea what it was as it came with the car. The TEU Officer told me its dangerous to drive a front wheel drive car with low tread. I didn't think it was help my case if I told him it was rear wheel drive. By now nearly an hour has passed and I have tied up the resources of three police officers and two patrol cars. I got issued with a lovely yellow sticker and was sent on my way. What a criminal............................

I will have shots by tomorrow morning- I'll consider it SOLD when I have the money and without exaggerating I have 6 PM's asking about the cooler and 2 regarding the turbo. As I have said in my PM's I will be at the Melb Motor Show tonight but will be available during the week. Jevan

Ok guys I will get some shots of the stuff tonight. Darren the cooler will fit an R33. I don't think they changed them at all for the R33. The fronts mounts are seriously massive on the GTR's. When you see how big it is you will be amazed that it is a factory intercooler. Both items are still for sale!

I agree same issue with mine. Tune or AFM or aftermarket fuel pumps sometimes make this happen!

Resonators are an option as well

As the title says: I have just upgraded my turbo on my R32 to a T28 highflow. I have the std turbo that was working fine before it was removed. No shaft play. Never boosted past stock. Travelled less than 100,000km $100 FIRM R32 GTR intercooler- Good condition. A couple of lightly bent fins which I will have straightened and a 2cm bump in the bottom. 3" inlet pipes. $200 ono ************SOLD********* Prefer local buyer in Melb but willing to post.
