  3. A word of warning cheap quotes mean cheap oils A skyline gearbox should run two types of oils if you want them to last: Redline shockproof blue- $150 retail for 5 ltrs Syntrax 75-90w + teflon treatment =$110 from Bursons, autobarn etc Good quuality engine oil- (everybody should know about this already.) Diff oils- Same as gearbox either redline or Syntrax In fact if you go to the redline website and type in your engine and car type it will list all the different oils, product no's etc and when they should be changed. You shouldn't take any chances and if you can afford redline your better off buying it as some of the more experienced skyline owners will know just how expensive taking a shortcuts on maintience can be! The redline website also lists all the shops that sell it in Melb- and Aust
  4. Same problem. Horn died. It is very common and will require you to open the steering wheel and check the wires

Again call my friend Theron ad DeSilvia parts and get a clutch. Pay cash and you will get it cheap! Then bargain with a shop for cheap instalation. His number 0417338256
  6. That is the advice that several of my mechanically minded friends have told me but its just a worry that it only happens in 2nd
  7. I recently had my gearbox oil changed and to make sure I got some quality oil I went and purchased Syntrax 75-90w ($80 at trade price) with a teflon gear treatment ($15) My problems started shortly after........ I noticed my 2nd gear started to crunch shifting either from 1st to 2nd or down from 3rd back into 2nd at 3000rpm+ Now ordinarily I would guess that the syncro is dead but the crunching only occurs after about 30 minutes of driving which indicates that the oil temp in the gearbox has something to do with my problem. To make things extra complicated the crunch into 2nd only occurs when I change over 3000rpm. At the moment I take off in 1st....put the clutch in... wait for rpm to drop to 2000rpm and gently put it into gear... VERY annoying! What do you think? Selector, synco???? Other than the crunch in 2nd the car is driving beautifully with no performance issues once the 2nd gear has been selected.. Jev
  8. Can you send us the parts here is Oz when you kill yourself street racing in bahrain??? I thinmk you will need a better reason for building your car before people on this forum will come to your aid and give you advice.
  9. For anyone in Melb. I have 4 tickets to Motel (Sth Melbourne) Christmas Eve Party. Worth $20 each. Sell all 4 tickets for $40. 1 Ticket to Metro Mischief New Years Eve Party- Selling for $50 at TicketMaster my price $30. Pick up only in Melb CBD area. Call or sms Jevan on 0413 689 302.
  10. Same Leewah- I'll be at Summer days on the 1st and then go to the Prince that night. Should be a bloody long party. Luckily got a ticket yesterday but I had to buy it with the Metro Mischief ticket as a pack which I wasn't too happy about. Anyone going to Metro on New Years? They can have my ticket for $30 instead of paying $50
  11. Hi all, What is everyone up to on the last night of 2004? Anyone planning on not drinking and cruising around or will I find you all face down in the gutter somewhere? Anyone heading to summer days? If you are and you have a spare ticket let me know as they have sold out!
  12. Yes I have someone for you. Go to ABS Brakes on Whitehorse Road Balwyn. Speak to Scotty Burson (he is a very good friend of mine) say you know Jevan (me) For a very small fee he can fit them at his house and order them cheap as DBA is one of their preferred suppliers
  13. Why would you swap unless your not going overseas as stated in your previous email? I think 18k is quite reasonable but thanks ok only another 99 owners to negotiate with
  14. I'll offer you 18k with everything on it still. There are over 100 Skylines I have found for sale at the moment in Melbourne alone so if you want a quick sale let me know
  15. I would suggest that you contact Johnson Performance Centre which is in Lalor. Highly regarded as one of the leading modification workshops in Melbourne and my personal experience has been fantastic. They also have a dyno facility in house. They also do turbo highflowing. Call them and say you have been quoted 1500 and can you do better? This will bring the price down if they want the job.
  16. I sold my std rims with tyres for $100 all up!!!
  17. There also seemed to be a massive fleet of Biker cops that cruise up and down that road. Hiding here and there.
  18. I was down there Saturday and the 300zx club was in town. Some pretty hot looking road boats
  19. Certainly interested. Are you looking for a trade or do you want a complete sale?
  20. Some friendly advice for you. I assume you have posted this stuff on the WRX forum but the RS liberty forum is another excellent place to sell this stuff as most of it is compatable with their cars. http://www.rslibertyclub.org/forums/
  21. As I drive the streets of Melbourne I am often amused at what people do to make their cars look sh*t. My biggest pet hates are: 1) VK-VL Commadores with either a massive Holden Racing Team/HSV sticker that takes up the whole back window. 2) Neon lights in the bonnet where the water spray is. 3) Subwoofers in a car without correct sound deadening with the whole back of the car vibrating like a broken washing machine. What are yours?????????????????????
  22. Interested a trade with cash adjustment? I have a heavily modified subbie RS turbo. Very clean, quicker than a STi. RS+$4000 cash
  23. I would try the forum because its free. Trading post because of the wide coverage. Try a few other clubs. WRX, Fast fours, Silvia forum. All free..(the forums that is)
  24. I lost my factory turbo (R33 though) while driving. Large pop and it went. The guts of it ended up stuck in my cat convertor(no other damage to the engine). I drove around for a week with no turbo while I was waiting for a replacement. The car will still drive but the compression is wrong for NA and it will strain your engine so dont do that for very long plus the power output is similar to that of a lawnmower!! You can 'turn' off your turbo by disconnecting your vaccume line. If your not sure a mechanic can do this in about 2 minutes. My suggestion is that you do not drive it too far without it. If you need a replacement turbo cheap let me know as I have a friend (in Melbourne) that sells used parts cheap for imports. If your budget is tight try and get a R33 turbo at around $400 second hand. You might find a R32 turbo for slightly less but you may as well get a more efficient turbo for an extra $100.
