  1. Did anyone see/hear about the L-Plater on a 1000cc motorbike clocked at 230kmh over the weekend down the calder freeway??? In a bit of a twist I've met this bloke before as he is my girlfriend's sister's boyfriend's best mate! (try and get your head around that one!) Anyway nice to see the cops chasing people down when they crack the 200kmh mark, somehow he came off and didn't have a scratch on him!
  2. Andrew from what I have been told that Silver GTR is getting enough money poured into it to buy a small house or two so maybe Serious Performance 9 DVD will tell a different story.. LOL!!
  3. If you read motor I thought the quickest car they tested was the XR8 at 13.99???? Is the Aussie muscle car shoot out. As for getting more power all you need to do is get the LS2 flash tuned
  4. Yeah call Chasers for sure. Their new shop is 440 Dynon road which is the contination of Spencer Street. Dyno went in yesterday. Call Benny on his new number 0416009785. Tell him Jevan from the Skyline forum sent you down and he will look after you!! Check out the Silver R34 GTR that is in the shop at the moment!! AMAZING
  5. Guys, I have recently acquired a 1988 TX5 Telstar turbo that has been in storage for the last 3 years. Excellent white 2 pack paint (done just before storage) Manual Tinted windows 155,000km Interior in good condition (one small crack on the dash which I will have fixed) Engine is very strong with most pipes changed, new std turbo and clutch fitted Car is stock standard. Car will be sold with road worthy and will include 12 months reg on request from the buyer. This will make ideal little run around for those that want to keep their km’s down on their skylines. It’s surprisingly fast and fun to scoot around in. Looking for around $3,500 with RWC or $4,000 with RWC and Reg. Pics posted soon!! Jevan. Please email [email protected]
  6. IS it covered under the XTC business insurance??
  7. Farken Hell this thread has more dribble in it then the baby section of a hospital! Since the title of this thread is Chasers Tuning I'd like to add my 2c. I've been a customer of Chasers for around 12 months and I have found all the staff, particularly Benny to be exceptionally knowledgable when it comes to Skylines. Those of you that go to Chasers will know that the workshop is always open to 8-9pm at night while they are working hard on cars. The team at Chasers recently moved to Dynon road (the extension of Spencer Street) where they have teamed up with Paul the Motec Tuner which is an exciting partnership as these two know more about import cars then most of us could hope to learn in a lifetime. Benny from Chasers has seen this thread on the internet and spoke to me last night about it. He told me that if anyone has a problem with a tune, new turbo, front mount etc etc from his workshop then they will work hard to make sure you are happy which is a lot more than most workshops will do. Having owned a handful of imports I have found Chasers to be a place that I can trust implacably. Jevan PS- DYNO GOING IN MONDAY!!!!
  8. Andrew, Thats a great picture! Hey how did you get a GTR through novated lease? Our work arrangement is based on a 20k allowance pa, no car older than 24 months from build date and no grey imports or private purchases. By the way I work at McDonalds head office.
  9. For those of you that have read the paper today you may have seen the article saying the typhoon is back in production??? What are your thoughts on this much acclaimed (and now seemingly faultless) Australian muscle car??? 270kw and 550nm of torque standard sounds pretty damn tempting since I’m in the market for a new work car in 3 months. Peak torque is at a rediculous 2700rpm!!!!!!!! Those of you that are into tuning may know that the BA Falcons Engine Management is easily reprogrammable and considerable gains can be made by lifting conservative factory settings. I know its no skyline but unfortunately you can’t buy/lease grey imports through fleet.
  10. Post a price mate this isn't ebay
  11. Gees 10 points for description!! Is it from a R32/33/34 What mods does it support? What mapping differences from a std ucu? Are speed and rev limiters removed??
  12. I've got an R32 with some decent mods I'm about to sell in Melbourne as I'm about to get a work car. looking for around 13k with a respray or 11k if you want to do it yourself. Other than that the car is in mint condition
  13. Take it back to the person you brought it from because the horn is a very basic road worth certificate requirement. If its an airbag model R33-R34 then it can be very expensive to fix
  14. I'd invest in a 100,000km service because your car will not be a gueniune 46,000km car unless its been sitting in a musuem in Japan. Thats less than 4,000km a year!!! I've had five imports and I reckon every single on of them was wound back. Believe me a major service will be alot cheaper than letting your timing belt snap
  15. I got defected a few weeks back in my GTST- Driving normally (actually waiting at a red light) middle of the day in a suit and tie! I've had the R32 for 4 months and been pulled over 3 times (only once they had a decent reason because I did an illegal right hand turn) I'm not even a dodgy looking bloke (I think anyway) and twice I have been in a suit and tie as I'm an accountant for Maccas which means I drive around to all the stores in Melbourne during the day.
  16. Please.... pretty please
  17. Hi guys, I'm about to sell me R32 (due to a work car) but first I want to have a couple of panels sprayed to get my line looking nice. The problem is the plate in the engine bay where the paint code is faded and I can't make out the code. i have an R32 GTST Maroon (dark red) colour. Can someone do me a huge favour and look at the code in a skyline with the same colour as mine???
  18. I agree with GTST. I owned a heavily modified one for 8 months. Great car! Weak gearboxes
  19. Because the factory setting boost gauge (located in your dash) is not measured in PSI. If you are making it reach 7 then you are running alot more boost than you think! Upwards of 14psi which will make your turbo die reasonably quickly. Do a search on this forum as it has been covered extensively. Detenation will most likely be caused by your spark plugs. If you are running more boost then you need them regapped to .8 or .7
  20. Has it got the 100,000km service done??
  21. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...bayphotohosting Has anyone else seen this? It was originally an R33 and the guy made it into an R34 V-SPEC. Very interesting. Looks slightly odd from the side though. Anyway I thought I would attach the link as there is nothing exiting happening in the VIC Section this week!
  22. Its a factory Rex turbo. I looked into this option for an upgrade on my RB20 as they are plentiful and cheap. Requires extensive 'mucking' around to get it on and is not really suitable for an RB having come from a 4 cylinder car. As told by Benny at Chasers Tuning. Sorry to rain on your sale but people should know before paying
  23. Sorry I should have specified. The turbo came off an R32 GTST model (1992) Don't know the specific type but I'm assuming most people with R32 should know?? Ceramic turbine with no shaft play, dump pipe included!
  24. Turbo at a rock bottom price of $100.00 Even if yours is working fine this is a chance to have a spare one for loose change!!!
