  1. After seeing mine I'll never go narrower than 245. Its about the perfect amount of stretch for me. Good luck. Hope it all works out. Keep us posted.
  2. Good place to start I'd say. And also 235 won't really give you any more clearance than 245. Both are stretched do they'll angle away from the rim edge, but they're both still locked into the rim at the bead which means theoretically they would be the same. Get my point? Just depends on how much stretch and how much road contact you want I guess. Just another thing to think about.
  3. Mine is a 2000 but I highly doubt that would make any difference. If you go back a heap of pages there's a s2 rs4s running 18x10 +15 with coilovers. That's even less clearance than 9.5 +12 and he doesn't seem to have an issue. Maybe pm him?
  4. And now it's not sideways haha. Oh well.
  5. Just took a pic of mine for you (sorry it's sideways, uploading from phone and it rotated it). As you can see there's quite a bit of clearance with the stock shocks, I'd say a good 15mm. Obviously BC's are thicker though. I'm not sure how much but you can work that out. Mine is as stated earlier s2 rs4s running 18x9.5 +12 with 245 40's.
  6. I run 245 40 on mine. Slightly stretched.
  7. Mine are rota's. If you go back a heap of pages on this thread you'll find pics of 18x10 +15 on an rs4s that look mint if that helps.
  8. The fronts do have a little more poke than the rear if you look from the front but that's only because the front of the car tapers in. Looking from the rear, as you can see, they're pretty flush.
  9. Yeah mate. 18x9.5 +12 all around with 245x40's.
  10. I'm pretty sure the stock wheels are only 7 wide. 18x9.5 +12 fit perfect on my rs4s at standard height. With some low and a touch of camber they'd fit even better. I was going to upload a pic but I can't on my phone.
  11. When you hear a pop and then a whine when it should be boosting, this is probably what you've done. This happened to me yesterday. Shaft is bent along with the destruction you see.
  12. Just wondering if someone with an rs4s can confirm with certainty that 18x9.5 +12 running 245/40's will clear BC Coilovers without any drama. Thanks.
  13. ^^^ THAT ^^^ Each to their own though. I love the 260RS too and it really is the GTR wagon. But if your budget is around 20k and want bang for buck, I'd get an RS4S for 10-13k and spend the rest on go faster bits. As Cowboy1600 said, after that it would kill stock 260's. Good luck with the decision and the ensuing hunt.
  14. He means series 2 c34 RS4S. He's right on the difference between them tho. RB26, Brembo's and body kit are the only real difference. I own a series 2 RS4S and love it! They're also about half the price of an Autech!!
  15. How much for the coin tray and drivers side cargo bay plastic side cover shipped to 3690? By the cargo bay side cover I mean the plastic that runs the whole length of the cargo bay from the tail gate to the rear door pillar. That's only if it's the tan/biege colour and is unmarked. I assume S1 and S2 are the same as its going in an S2. Thanks.
  16. Sorry mate but I'll pass. Looks like it's still got a ceramic rear wheel to me. Good luck with it all tho.
  17. Yeah that'd be great if you could. Just pm them to me. Cheers.
  18. I don't suppose you know/have checked if it was rebuilt with steel wheels at all? How much boost was it running before you pulled it out?
  19. Hey mate. How much work has the turbo done? Would you sell it separately?

    Cruise Control

I'm keen to see how this all turns out as I've been missing the cruise control from my old Statesman. I don't suppose auto and manual would be any different? Please keep updating. And a price list of all the parts would be lovely if you find them and don't mind. Cheers.
  21. I'll definitely be making the long trip 1 hour down the road to watch all you crazys fly around. Unfortunately I doubt my gearbox would be up to the beating it would take, so I'll be spectating. Will there be a gate entry charge to spectate? I can't help with a guide to good accommodation (as I live close enough to not need it), but I may be able to make your choice a bit easier depending on what your plans are while here. 1) If your main focus will be the driving, I'd say get a room in Benalla 5 mins from the track or Wangaratta 10-15mins from the track. This option would also be for you if you didn't want much night life. Also I'm not sure if Benalla has any type of dedicated autoparts store, just a few machanics and car yards. Wangaratta has a supercheap and probably a couple of other options. 2) If however you'd want to be partying a bit harder than just being at a pub, I'd say get a room in either Albury or Wodonga which are both about 1 hour from the track. Albury has a decent night life (if you're into that sort of thing). Hope that helps some of you. Although now I've checked the actual date I see it's a Monday. For some reason I assumed it would be a Saturday haha. I would still say the above is true, however Monday night would be quite tame compared to Wednesday, Friday, Saturday or even Sunday nights.
  22. +1 for battery connections. I had a similar issue. Drive to the shops, all good. Came out and went to start the car, nothing. Had all dash lights, stereo, wipers, the works but could only get a click from the engine. After doing some impressive carpark machanics and removing the starter motor to check it wasn't seized or something stupid then fitting it again managed to get it started by short starting it with a jumper lead. Straight to an auto elec who proceeded to do the the most basic thing, check the simple shit first!! Turned out it was I dodgy connection where the terminal clamps onto the cable. Check the battery connections or try a new battery.

    Tein Coilovers

How much did they sting you if you don't mind me asking?
