  1. Come on mate thats a bit harsh, it works for atleast 5 minutes everyday, cant go asking too much :)
  2. Looks 100% better I had to raise my car as it was too low, most of the trouble I had was that the sump sits lower then the cross member, as does the very bottom of the gearbox. So both copped a bit of a beating. Also my radius rod mount bottomed out over speed humps and cops really didnt like it There was no thought put into handling like this though as the roll centers were way out of wack and so on. But all of which has been sussed and it is probably a good inch or 2 higher
  3. Certainly is a DR, definently an odd choice for a drag car
  4. Any pics of how you have fitted up the rear brakes? adapters and such.
  5. I reckon that would have been more like 2001 or so, before I even had my DR30 I used to see that thing getting round, till it got sold. I know of a DR30 in the build that will be pushing the mid 300rwkw's I reckon or somewhere along those lines, with a forged FJ. But it probably wont be "fast" as such, we dont have a strip in adelaide so there is no point even putting effort towards that side of things
  6. I picked up a poverty pack with a smokey engine, 3 months rego, DR tail lights, Hr31 stockies for $50 a little while back. Drove it round for 3 months, stole the gaurds wheels and lights and swapped it for everything needed to put a CA18 into a bluey Just about the best deal I have ever had
  7. Search this section, there has been plenty of threads on the subject
  8. I would put up the offsets and widths I run but I will probably just get critisised like always
  9. With the current seup it's running now? VG30 turbo and all? My mates 2.1 FJ when it was running a VG turbo didnt come on boost hard at all, was smooth as and already building boost by 1800rpm completely run out of puff by 6000rpm though
  10. Yes, but as I said they are rare as, and worth an absolute mint if you can find one. Or they can make full custom ones from a solid billet, but the price for that would really not be cheap either.
  11. I call absolute bullshit on that car on carsales having a 2.4L stroker in it like advertised. For starters strokers are rare as rocking horse shit, and would be worth twice as much as the car just for the bare motor alone, and unlike L-series there is no crank which will easily fit in to make it a 2.4L (Ihave heard talk of some sort of diesel crank being modified to fit but still yet to see it done). Also the most I have ever seen an FJ bored out was 160thou (4mm!!) which took it to 2.2L, my own motor is at 80 thou which in it's self is a decent sized bore.
  12. All I know is it was registered when we went and looked at it when it was just a shell many many years ago. And I have seen being driven round a fair bit since then all rego'd. Plus I dont have any import & compliance papers for my car and it is legitimately registerable. You dont need them once the car has already been registered for Australian roads. Heck my car doesnt even have compliance plates, but then again this is SA
  13. Geez thats in pretty damn good condition
  14. R30 for sure I almost vomit looking at R33's, The worst looking skyline ever made
  15. That thing was for sale as a rolling shell many years ago, I went and looked at it with a mate the day it was in the trader and my mate put a deposit on it. When we went to pick it up that weekend we got there to find that the wanker had sold it to someone else, quite obviously because the other person had offered more money but the guy insisted that his brother had sold it when he was at work. Quite angry about that one My mate ended up with an absolute pig of a shell which he managed to scrub up pretty well
  16. how much wider do the make the wheel arch? Are there any pics of cars with them on?
  17. especially in comparison to a single plate puk clutch, a twin plate would crap on it in the drivability stakes. I know my puk clutch is definently not the most user friendly.
  18. I believe there is a purple one in adelaide with an RB20det in it. If it's still kicking round that is.
  19. I was out there watching a couple of mates, greyish CA18 bluebird ended up running in the mid 1:22's and then finally blew it's turbo, turns out a GT28RS can only take 24psi for so long, and also the blue CA18 KE30 2 door corolla which lost a wheel on it's final lap (still unsure what happened here as I saw him with my own eyes check every wheel nut on the car before venturing out, possibly the slip on spacers???) this was running pretty consistantly in the low 1:22's all day still cant manage to break into the 21 mark. Some very nice cars out thats for sure. Blue 32 you car blows some insane flames at times :P
  20. Wow thats old I remember this car crusing the streets of adelaide back when I was a fresh P-plater and didnt even really know what an R30 was, how things have changed.
  21. NICE!!! Very very clean car
  22. The plans for this ever being a road car are just about dead. Will be booking it in to get a cage very very soon, will keep it you all up dated. When that does happen all my prior plans are out the window. Now has boost controller and big fuel pump, however still not tuned, work is all ready to be started on the rear end conversion, but will be moving house soon so cant start it till I have moved
  23. I agree, it's a good thing not everyone builds cars for the same reasons, how boring. I say go for gold. One of my mates has a bluebird wagon with 400 odd RWKW and I absolutely love it, what a beast.
  24. I'd just about sell my car for $20k, LOL. Now thats saying something
