  1. Spose I should say, I'm a definent for this. What time you leaving on the friday?
  2. Yup yup I know Crimmo, fellow ex-DR30 owner Been seeing a few of the photos and vids up on facebook, awesome
  3. those MT-z's roost a lot of mud I was copping it and I was 3 cars back, pretty sure he was doing most tracks in 2WD also
  4. yea gotta stick with the 16's to clear the brakes, which means more expensive rubber oh well. Went out and priced up tires and wheels last night Went out for a bit of a trek today was fun, had 7 cars out victor way, christians ute is an absolute beast. Almost saw a pathfinder roll was pretty entertaining
  5. Yea I'm going to have to do some shopping around. Planning on buying a set of speedy's also and just run MT-z's when necessary as I do a fair few KM's and the noise will probably annoy the hell out of me. Plus I could probably talk work into covering a basic road tire come time for replacement Would be nice to have it sorted by that weekend but will have to wait and see, as always money is the issue would be pretty good if it wasnt
  6. Yea what was the decided date on this? 15-16 August? Anyone got sweet hookups for MT's?
  7. :( :) Who knows, I may even get it run in one day
  8. Except places like QLD they can get mod plates, and actually get cars engineered. Where as here engineering papers arent even worth they paper they are written on.
  9. It's all nothing new RCK has for as long as I can remember been the bottom dwellers of the car scene, bringing everyone down with them. And from what I can see ACC is just another club following in their foot steps. RCK had a big write up like this maybe 2-3 years ago. As for car crushing, meh. I'll believe it when it actually comes in, but very doubtful on that one.
  10. I have a set sitting at home also. I bought an aus spec R30 with 3 months rego, DR tail lights and those wheels for $50, I reckon thats a bargain in anyones books.
  11. Nope they mount up at the front completely different.
  12. I priced headlights about 5 years ago from Nissan when I had a slight bingle and they were roughly $700 each
  13. Just because it can do it doesn't mean it's either safe or legal. Take an R30/31 roughly 1200kg, a car trailer 500kg+ depending on how it's built, throw in all your tools and spares and what every necessary for a track day your looking at a fair amount of weight being pulled, supported and slowed down by your car. it's not something you want to be mucking around with, especially if you plan on doing interstate trips where you could be towing at 100-110kmh. I do a lot of towing, my tow car is a turbo diesel nissan patrol with 3.5T towing capacity which it does tow rather nicely and loves it (my dads boat is 3.5T, maybe a smidge over with both petrol tanks full ) I wouldnt have it any other way.
  14. My DR stock standard with a full 3" from turbo exhaust did 119rwkw so I'd say it would be around there if not a little lower due to standard dump and front pipe.
  15. My mate here has gone the smaller of the 2 china cores available fits in pretty nice and snuggly in between the headlights with minimal chopping Where I have gone the larger, which to get to fit was a bit of a bitch. Welded 90 degree bends on the ends to get it in a little tighter with a bit more chopping necessary. To tell ya the truth I really should have just gone with the smaller option as performance gains would be minimal in comparison.
  16. Standard s13 struts will be way too low, my s13 coilovers are pretty much wound up at max height and my car still sits fairly damn low.
  17. http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/forum/view...asc&start=0 This is a build I have been keeping an eye on. A Zed with full R34 running gear, from motor the the rear cradle with plenty of extra bits of coolness. They are almost up to slapping the paint on There was also another one that I had seen, but cant seem to find it anymore. They had put a gemini body on a S2000 chassis, which had some awesome fab work done on it, and the body fit scarily way too well on the Honda chassis, I'll keep searching
  18. The factory FJ box will handle the job fine up to a certain point power wise. The number 1 problem I had with my FJ box was syncros in to second gear, it ended it's life not even being able to get it to gear with out double clutching this seems to be the problem with a lot of the DR's I have driven. Where as the RB 20 box runs dual syncros so you should really never have this problem My mates FJ 1600 stripped third gear running 215rwkw, but it did cop a bit of a hammering at times, but has spent most of it's time out on the track cutting laps. In all honesty I think the RB20 would only be minimally stronger then the FJ jobbie but I'm not 100% sure on that one. Just they are alot more widely available and the syncros are a lot better.
  19. RB20 box fits with only the need for 2 holes in the top of the bellhousing to be elongated by around 5mm and the box mount extended by 1". 20 boxes I have seen run around the 230rwkw mark no worries, 20 boxes can be had for around the $550-600 mark. For anything more if it's going to cop a hammering I would be looking towards RB25 box which is fitted up in the same way except you will also need a custom tailshaft, I'm also a little unsure how well they will go fitting in an R30 box tunnel as the RB25 box is physically a much bigger box. This is an expensive option at around $1500 for the box alone but you most probably will never blow a box again. However my mate recently purchase a RB26 (same internally as 25) box for around half the price and modded it for RWD use which worked out a hell of a lot cheaper. I'm modding a 20 box for a mates FJ 1600 next week so I will have to take pics and post up a bit oh a how to.
  20. Just let him sell his car!! Wow just because you wouldnt pay $10,000 for it doesnt mean that you have to go f**k up his for sale thread. (even though this is the wrong area for it) If I recall correctly it went to Tassie for round the $10,000 mark, after all it doesnt matter what you think its worth, it's what people are willing to pay
  21. dont worry I have been stalking this car for a long time It came into the country about the same time as my car, for around the $10,000- $12,000 mark uncomplied (if I remember correctly), except it looked a little more like this. I would have snapped it up but it would have been too hard to comply in SA plus I had only just taken delivery of my DR And yes this is the actual car and the picture the importer used while selling it Dennis I dont see any need for your posts picking the car apart. He isnt trying to hide any facts from anyone, he's not trying to lead anyone astray. He's just trying to sell his car. As you said yourself the obvious is the obvious.
  22. Dennis has answered most of your questions, will just extend on some.
  23. Didnt this not long ago have an RB in it? fairly similar mod list to my car, except I still have an FJ
  24. I also wonder this. Everytime I visit the SA section here I always read atleast one or 2 stabs at NS, yet when I read NS (alot more then SAU) I rarely even see a mention of SAU. hrmm oh well back to classic skylines.
