  1. Strongly agree that these trailers are awesome, mine has done a trip around australia and multiple track days without a single drama. No ramps is truely awesome, they tow like a dream with really handy tie downs and even very low cars get on the trailer without messing about. Whoever buys this trailer will not regret it, especially at that price with all the extra's you get.
  2. Hey mate, very interested in the A.R.E radiator if its still kicking around. If you could send me some pics that'd be great. Mob 0437177440
  3. Hey dude, do you separate each components screws into individual bags or do you simply throw it all together? The kit is a great idea and i know the 31 forum did something similar with great success so good on ya.
  4. Cheers for the feedback paul, all of it is being taken greatly into consideration.
  5. G'day guys and girls, I have recently began to throw together a few safety items for my 93 R33 Gts-s Coupe and have a few questions i couldn't quite get answers for. Firstly, Bolt in rollcages. I searched all through this forum and read what i could but the information i found was a bit old now, so recently i got into contact with a mob called AGI Precision about potentially getting either a half cage of a full cage both of which would be bolt in. The reason im going bolt in is because the chances of me wrecking my car on the track is sitting at about 53.4% and i would rather like to use it again rather then having another made for the next chassis. Anyway so i got a quote from them and the prices are fairly reasonable for both options, what im asking from you guru's is any word on this company. Has anyone delt with one of their cages before? Got a friend with one? Maybe own one? Or even scrutineer one? Im very interested in feedback on them before i proceed with purchasing. Secondly, Fixed Bucket Seat. As a 6'1 fella with 90kg's on him and a comfortably sized ass im trying to see what suggestions everyone might have, i have had my eyes set on a Velo GP90 for some time and i've read some good things but im open to suggestions and opinions. Also with that what rails should i be using? Do i want to keep the standard sliding setup or just go fixed mounting position? Do i need to be so low that im barely able to see over the dash? Lastly! Racing Harness. Again im open to suggestions on this one, im not after some wank factor set i just comfortable ones that have a good release mech and will keep me safe if all goes to hell. As a R33 owner i am a tight-ass but when it comes to this stuff im willing to put down the extra cash to keep me safe, oh and i live in the middle of bloody no-where so trying out seats and harnesses for myself quickly becomes a very costly exercise so im putting my trust into your feedback. Thank you for your time.
  6. Oh that's just painful to hear. Hopefully i won't have anything bad like that happen during the coming years of transporting my car around, however the same cannot be said for some of my mates who will no doubt be borrowing the trailer at one point or another haha. And cheers again for the info essay, will be emailing them soon for final prices and shipping probably tomorrow.
  7. Awesome thanks for that info there essay, it's certainly building up my confidence in the pending purchase if a GTR has been getting around on one for so long without drama's. If you don't mind me asking essay what electric brake setup did you run along with it? And how easy is it to work the air bags on the trailer? Cheers.
  8. Cheers for the feedback 260DET, anything is better then nothing at this stage. And the mesh tops doesn't concern me too much, i can just stick a few bits of carpet underneath the tires if I'm running around on semi's just to be on the safe side.
  9. Resurrecting an old thread for a bit of advice. It's time for me to get a car trailer so I can start running my car to the track in Darwin (some 317k's away on a road that isn't as flat as you would expect) but I've come upon a rather common problem, what car trailer do I buy? I've read through this entire thread and some others, in addition I have talked to a few other mates who have half an idea about trailers but I'm still confused as to which way to go. The thing's I do know is that I'm not buying second hand (a 600k round trip with an old shitter just doesn't cut it for me), I'm going for a duel axle as I'm moving a 33 gtst and i want to lend this trailer to other mates, I'm going to try my best to find the lightest trailer possible to keep my running costs down in the long run (and to make it easier to move around by hand) and it will have to have an open floor so it may be used as an emergency workbench (eg gearbox drops/dropping sumps/checking out the latest hecktic damage). The thing's I don't know are just brake types I should go with (electric controlled braking is favorited up in the NT it seems) and the small things like wheel storage, electric winches, nose cones, etc etc. That all said I recently found a company called Tilta Trailer ( http://www.tiltatrai...le_trailer.html ) whom make a trailer that seems to check a number of box's, but the only information I have of this trailer is what the website says but I was really hoping someone here has some real world experience with this trailer. So I guess at the end of all this rambling I would like to ask the following questions: Is the Tilta Trailer as handy as it makes it's self out to be? If so would it handle a pretty average 600k round trip every month with 1200kg's sitting on it? Or should I just go for something super simple and just deal with ramps like everyone else? And as always any extra hints and tips for towing would be appreciated.
  10. There's a few of us out in tindal, off the top of my head there is a series one r33 on the road (silver), a series two (silver), a r34 (black), my r33 (black, track pig), a white s13, a black s13 that will be registered one day and a modded r31 on its way from qld. I have seen the GTR but i didn't realise that was actually stickin around, if i remember it was wearing volk gt-c's when i saw it. Don't know the fella tho.
  11. Or if your willing to get something a bit more local you could have a look at these websites: http://www.prbaustralia.com.au/ (these guys even run their own race series) http://www.birkin.com.au/birkin-kits-and-pricing.php (these guys have put together two very nice packages) http://www.strykercars.com/sports-kit-cars-specifications.php (offer multiple production stages to buy from eg: Starter Body/Chassis Kit to Turn Key) http://www.arrowsportscars.com.au/products.htm (good starter prices) There are many options open to you.
  12. I've just googled up a bit of a discussion in a forum concerning the external mic ability that the Gopro 2 HD Hero has (since i'm strongly considering purchasing one). http://forums.corvet...o-hd-hero2.html They get a bit in depth with the whole mono/stereo thing but one individual provides an interesting solution and results, the external mic he used is the Audio Technica Pro24CM which with a long enough extension cable can be run just about anywhere in your vehicle and provides a considerable upgrade in audio quality when compared to the previously posted videos. The last video he post's at the bottom of the first page is the money video.
  13. To be honest if you wished to walk the path of making a kit car, you couldn't get a batter start then Caterham (there are plenty of companies within australia that sell very nice replica kits for much cheaper). I've used to work for a mob that built them for the road and track and they are just awsome, they are very simple to put together with many people out there who will be more then willing to lend a hand, especially if you start getting some track time. There are a few reasons why you should build a caterham well before trying to build something more crazy like an ultima/cobra/gt40, this is because it's relatively cheap to throw together (so if you give up like many others you haven't lost much), it will give you a very good understanding of what it takes to build a truely balanced vehicle, and it may very well be so much fun that you won't even want to move to something more expensive. You have a large amount of engines to choose from depending on what you want, be it a nice NA like a 4AGE (a very common choice), or maybe something turbocharged like a SR20, or supercharged like a 4AGZE, or just go all crazy like and throw a Rotary in there. Actually there isn't many things you cant change on this car depending on what you want.... All in all i highly suggest you go for the caterham, then sell if off if you want more and then move onto your next project.
  14. G'day mate, nothing posted up on either NAMSC or TEDA as far as dates go for next year. My best guess is that the track will open up some time in Feb but i can't say for sure. As far as your dyno question sadly i have no idea but i'm sure one of the other boys will have a know, or you could read a couple of the threads here and maybe a few names might pop up. Best of luck.
