My new engine - tuning *update* 25psi ='s :D

Dont mind having a bit of a play, but not really into street racing, thats where problems start. Maybe next track day, if you dare:D At the moment, I reckon a bog stock V6 commodore would get me off the mark, just cant get any traction through 1st or 2nd - 3rd is where the fun begins for me (gotta get some decent rubber dammit) -
australia day road rage, near death experience.

Oh and vendetta, he may be braking rules, but who knows the next time you block the way of a speeding car, it may be a doctor on an emergency call, or someone going to be by the side of a dying bike crash victim? I really do think if you want to start enforcing the road traffic act, you should become a cop:D -

ROFL, sorry, but that is really funny, caught on a bike, in traffic by a swift, I am still laughing. that must have been one fully sick swift. Anyways, I do think that as Pawley suggests, its pretty rude to hog the road, and I do believe its illegal too???? one of my pet hates. If I am in the right lane, I do keep a good eye on traffic coming up and move over if I am in their way - probably because it sh1ts me sooo much when people dont move over. BUT, I dont think it is any excuse at all for road rage - people think they have a god given right to be on the road - I dont blame him for flashing lights or hitting the horn to pass (cos I would do that if someone was hogging the road:p) but if people want to hog the road, its not my job to sort them out. I reckon that people that think they own the road will always tell you what a great driver they are and how crap everyone else is - they seem to forget they are human too and make mistakes (still hate people hogging the right lane though:p) Next time, although you may be in the right, try just pulling over and keeping out of the idiots way, cos being right wont help you when you are in a hospital with many broken bones and possibly crippled for life. Bikes dont offer much protection, it is hard enough staying out of the way of cars that dont see you without getting them to come gunning for you. It sucks I know, but it really is easier to let dicks like that be on their way, without revving up their little pea brains. If you are on a bike, remeber you have a perfect weapon with you. A bike helmet, if you hold on to the chinstrap close to the where it attaches, well would be ideal for self defence. Also, as it is a helmet, you can take it off to talk to someone, then if you were to use it, its a 'reflex' action, not a premeditated action like picking up a baton or a club steering lock;) Anyways dude, glad to here no one got hurt. -
this link: http://www.ap-engineering.co.jp/el/inj_side.htm is to a site that acutually lists different size injectors for 2JZ, I have been told that US delivered and Jap delivered have different size injectors as the supras in the US exceeded the 'gentlemans agreement' in japan to limiting power to 208kw. the above link also shows the higher rated injectors (US delivered cars?) are low impedance, but the lower rated ones are high.

Have a look at grepins thread for his 2835, he is currently making 275rwkw at 1.3bar. It comes on boost quite early, very streetable. Another thing to think about, clutch - if it hasnt been done already.

RNN14, I have one with my trust plenum, and it is definatley a bit too long for it. It came with my hillsmotorsport plenum, which has now gone. The guy I sold it to, bought the throttle cable for $20 from a wrecker, I got quoted $40 from a different wrecker.

Nah, bit different one or two (or even a few) going for a spin through the hills, dont see many cops - but every cruise I have been on, well they seem to notice alot of nice cars, and on public hols, I get scared:D I had to push it hard, I was trying to keep up with a slammed, every sus mod, very lightened S14. Started loosing front end grip first, so I slowed a bit more for the corners - then the S14 started getting away - then comes a corner that I didnt see until it was too late:p:D If only you could get a skyline to handle like a sylvia, the ultimate car. Anyways, I still have a few things I can do to tighten things up a bit, enough excuses. -
Or ILUVTPTSA The petition is being run concurrently by SKYLINED. I agree that a bit of discretion goes along way - I was told by a member of the EPA, that the police did such a good job of defecting cars over the christmas period, that regency told them to put the brakes on for a while as they didnt have the manpower to handle all the cars coming through. Heresay, but I do trust the word of the guy who told me, he is reasonably high up with them. He is the one that told me about 'rally reg', that get automatic exemption on alot of things, like no cat, 96db exhausts, they have an entire book out that details exactly what mods you can do that are outside current road traffic act limitations.

RNN14 GTIR, got quoted $40 from a wrecker, mate picked one up for $20. It looks like a silvia thottle cable might fit too, as they fit on the trust plenums. RNN14 one is a bit longer though.

Oversteer that got a bit out of hand:D -
absolutely, it is a rough guide only, not taking into account changing the rail fuel pressure.

****SOLD**** I have a trust dual pillar mount for 60mm guages. I have fitted it 2 days ago, but decided I dont like it, as it slightly obscures vision on the right hand side when going into tight corners. If anyboy is after one of these, I paid $150 for it, and will sell for SOLD or swap and cash for 60mm single gauge pillar mount In adelaide, prefer adeliade buyer

For 6 cyl, roughly cc of the injector equates to bhp, so 440cc roughly 440bhp.
-
SR20DET and RB25DET use the same fit and impedance injector. If you check the link above, it will tell you what size injectors they are.
-
bigger injectors would result in overfueling without changing the maps.

Unichip ECU installed, excellent results. 194rwkws

Congrats Dean, nice result. Did they say why were the runs done in 2nd gear? It wont effect the peak power figure anyways, and is still good for comparison as the first run was done in the same gear. $250 for a full tune is a good price too, wish power fc was that cheap:p -
HKS 3037S 56T turbo and wastegate
Steve replied to amosite's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Yep, hybrid cooler (outlet sayed icy even on the dyno during tuning - so its not too bad) I made 270 at 1.1 bar, 285 at 1.2bar but after that it started choking with a legal exhaust (enrico can tell you how quiet it was), peak was 309 at 1.7bar. I have since fitted a new exhaust, and now she pulls even harder - I love these turbos - absolutely killer. EDIT: cant wait for a redyno, feels stonger than 309 now:) -
Yes, they are same for SR20 and RB25 - I had to pay for mine though, $1K including collars, so you got a bit of a bonus there. I could probably send you a photo of mine (fitted), but I cant work out how to post up pics here:)

I wish I had re540s, did a pirouette (spelling?) on sun night, on the brakes too late into a corner, bloody chain of ponds:) -
I agree that forged pistons have better thermal qualities, but I dont see how if you are cooling the charge air properly, and use conservative timing around peak torque, detonation will be an issue. I have been running 1.7bar in my R33 for weeks now, and using it every day with stock pistons. Detonation will tell me if the things are starting to go south. I have never heard of anybody melting Rb25 pistons (not saying it doesnt happen), usually its the ringlands that get smashed - detonation. On the weekend decided it was time to give it a good caining. I spent about 2 hours pushing the car as hard as I could through the adelaide hills, regularly using the 1.7bar, detonation only hit a peak of 28 (power fc), the engine didnt skip a beat.

handy link boli, cheers

Hi, Anbody in Adelaide interested in swapping a dual pillar mount (been on one day) for a single with cash adjustment - suit R33, 60mm guages? I find the dual mount interferes with vision, not much but enough that I want to go back to a single, but my old single was 52mm, and my guages are now 60mm. Cheers Steve

Good luck Dean. Make sure you post up the results.

Got cams, dont think they, well exh, is dialled in too well as yet. I think a 0.87 may be a bit big for an RB20 too, but then again, I think a 3040 may be a bit big for an RB20 - depends on what you want though - Two different people can take the same car for a spin, one love it the other hate it. Freebaggin, just stick with 1.2bar all day every day, it would make life more interesting:) You know you want to:p
-
Well, after a good hard thrash through the adeliade hills last night I have decided there is no way I will be going down in turbine AR, 0.87 is awesome, very controllable boost with the throttle. There is no way I could have driven like I did with my 0.61 housing still in place. Stealth appearance, it would be easier to just get an adaptor for t3 to GT25 flange, mine cost around $50 to be machined up. I would really hate to start farking with the stock housing and trying to get it right for a 3037, by the time you have enlarged your wastegate and stuffed around, it would be pretty bloody expensive - then you dont have a tried and proven product, chances are you have taken a perfectly good turbo, and turned it into a surging POS. If it aint broke, dont fix it.
