GTR-34A replied to monga's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Ha, yea im pretty certain r34 gtrs were only made from mid to late 99 of any kind. If you get the vin I can run it in fast for you to check, or someone will on the forum... I looked '2001 NUR' there before which I had to correct them into posting it as an 02' as they were only made from then etc... -
^ yep I will be number 3!Looking forward for this cruise... And meeting some people etc...See you then!CheersAnthony

I was thinking lime green but I'm not sure the GTR would do commodores of the same colour justice haha I was tossing up on black or red stitching, but after sitting in my car for a few mins, I will go with red stitching to match everything else in the car, the existing seats have red stitching so couldn't go too wrong.

It does seem like a good fit, you pull the little plastic parts around the head rest out (where a harness would go through), fit the cover then fit them back ontop, which is one of the questions asked. they also said 100% guarantee perfect fit, and no modification at all to the seats, no adhesives to make them look fitted etc... all sounds very good to me... for around the $400 mark, it is very tempting! will keep you posted, may place an order in the morning just need to decide on stitching colour....

bump, anyone used the above? thinking about placing an order and trying it out...

Hey mate, I looked at a few there late last year with no luck.... -
I took my car to martys smash repair in whickham and I was very happy with the work they did on my skirts..
-
Cheers for the info guys. I have been speaking to the guys at ultimate auto trim, they have there leather covers advertised on ebay. They seem like they could be alright? anyone used them before? for $400 compared to nearl $100 for 'throw over' type ones, it could be worth it?... They sent me the below pic of there product fitted, looks alot like the ztune... you can customise it however you want though, i would just be getting all black, and just the front seats. Any thoughts or experience with these anyone? Cheers, Anthony

yea i was searching through some old threads and some things on ebay about the leather type covers.. not really too keen onit though, not sure how it would leave the material under neath it, although it says it would protect it??.. im just not too sure. If anyone has first hand experience with these type of products? pics etc would be a great help. Yea i realise the throw over ones will not prevent bolster wearing, not sure if anything would do that, its just the nature of the seat design that they will wear! bar removing / replacing the drivers seat nothing can help i would imagine.... The throw over type might be the go then.... unless i change my mind and go for a substitute seat, although i think an aftermarket bucket seat is abit of an overkill for the street use of my car... Thanks for the comments guys, if any one else has any info it would be a great help. Cheers, Anthony

Hey guys, Thinking about getting some seat covers for my R34 GTR and just wondering what is good, and what isnt? Anybody have them? pics? advice? the only ones i seem to be able to find are the AXS ones posted below, other than that the leather custom mades ones that im not too keen on... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-Black-GTR-Front-pair-AXS-Seat-Covers-5-year-warranty-/360433249703?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53eb7eeda7 Are these any good? is the fit good or average? Basically after something to provide a little bit of protection... is it worth bothering with seat covers at all? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Anthony

Yea the yellow is still very nice & bright... i see alot of yellow cars on the road that are badly fadded, and they look horrible. I will fill you in on paint thicknesses etc, hopefully get a chance to meet up on the pie run cruise... should be looking very nice for that having the detail been done the day before! looking forward to it.

Cheers mate, Yea im not much of a photographer ha! I have a photo shop like program, but i dont know how to do all the bits and peices yet. As it is the above photos needed to be colour balanced for the yellow... not an easy car to take photos of! I agree with bringing out the rims, i tried a few things to do it, but wasnt happy with anything i tried... ha yea, i believe i will be moving in the near future, so the suspension will have to wait untill then unfortunately!

Finally got a chance to take some decent pics of my car after the install of skirts and number plates etc.. starting to look alot nicer now imo. Cheers, Anthony

Advice On Ebc Type, And Mounting Options For R34 Gtr
GTR-34A replied to GTR-34A's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Cheers for the reply terry, I will have a look where your talking about the tripple switch panel near the right knee, as the best position may need to decide which shape EBC i get... either the greddy small front screen type or the HKS large front screen.... I have seen one mounted inside the roof of the arm rest centre consol... liked that as it was hidden away, although it was conected to an external boost gauge, which im not planning on. Anymore sugestions etc out there?... -
Hey guys, In the process of choosing which EBC to go with atm, am leaning towards a HKS EVC 6. are these any good? any first hand experience? Wanting to get any ideas for mounting locations of EBCs control units inside a R34 GTR cabin. want it to either look flush (as in is meant to be there) or maybe something that is easily hidden away / pulled out when needed? Have thought about options of glove box, modifiying it to fit in the ash tray area?... even maybe something to do with the coin holder near the drivers right knee? any ideas, pics of what you have done etc would be greatly appreciated. Had abit of a search without much luck. Cheers, Anthony

The 2012 Meet'n Greet Is Go!
GTR-34A replied to Howaitonaito's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Sounds like a plan, agree it would be a good idea to go up during daylight though yea. -
i believe my non vspec has the 'tv' button?... also the black seats are series 2 (series 2 started in August 2000 maybe, somewhere around there), all series 1 gtrs have grey seats vspec or not. the black does look nicer and cleaner though. as also stated above, plenty of info on the differences when searched etc.. and you can purchase after market diffusers front and back for non vspecs if thats a big worry. My advice, find one in good condition and get it, as they are few and far between! I searched for about 4 months (through approx. 30 cars) found 2 in good condition.... I searched for a black/purple/blue vspecII and ended up with a yellow series one non-vspec... and couldnt be happier as the condition of it is fantastic. I wouldnt get caught up in the labels... although if there available i would pay the extra. Cheers, Anthony

GTR-34A replied to Howaitonaito's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
^^cheers guys, was good to get it out and give it abit of a run. Need to get it out on some good roads, was near mt sugar loaf the other day and seemed like some good bits of road, never been up to the mt but so not sure what the roads are like??? Other than that putty roads nearby -
Thanks for the tip mate, at this stage the gf isn't coming, but will see what happens. I'm thinking I may go to the pie shop one now, as the sat before it my car is being detailed by jdm performance, and will be staying in syd sat night... Are you going to that one? Would love to see the yellow and black gtrs side by side...
-
Hey mate, I'm thinking of going to this one, I'm going to be down in Sydney with my car that weekend anyways, just a putty it's in the complete wrong direction ha. Either go to this or the chocolate one, both sound good! Or just go to both ha
-
That is a very good effort! In one day though?
-
I might be in, although including the trip down and back from newcastle it would come to a total of approx 500kms in one day! Might need to sort out some overnight accomadation.
