Black Rims For A Yellow R34?
GTR-34A replied to Shaftbrah's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I've got black te37sl's on my yellow 34r, go alright imo -
Yea when you get a chance mate, will be good to see it, or just bring it along next weekend for the putty road cruise ha! you can hear what a stock clutch sounds like then if you havent heard many, and compare them side by side.. Also if your going to leave it stock, theres not too much point in having a heavier than stock clutch, although the nismo twin plates are very nice, i will be going for one of them if i ever get around to putting -9s on my car ha.
-
Hey mate, If you go back to stock clutch and flywheel you shouldnt get hardly any rattle, mine makes barely any sound. not sure if you can put the stock flywheel in with the nismo clutch though?... I have driven a few with the rattle and i know where your coming from... i think if its annoying you too much, going back to standard is really the only option?...

34Gtr Compared To Later Model Sports Cars
GTR-34A replied to scarf's topic in General Automotive Discussion
You have to be pretty commited when deciding to purchase a 34R, as your comparing them to near new euro cars im guessing anything less than mint will not do... mint 34rs are very hard to come by now, took me 4 months or so and had to comprimise on colour and spec.. I wouldnt be concerned about a 34R being fast, comapring the price of the euros, you could buy a 34R, spend half the difference onit between the euro purchase price and be far, far quicker. Another thing to consider is depreciation, i would say spend 50k on a mint 34R, chances are you could get 50k again in 5-10years if kept mint... Buy 100k euro, chances are in 5-10 years it would be worth half that. As for transmisson, as said above, nothing like modern gearboxs, very notching and mechanical, but i dont see how that would be a concern?? stock clutch is very drivable etc so its not painfull in traffic etc.. although i would not reccomend one as a daily driver, they wernt really made for it, and you will probably just end up getting sick of it putting around town 90% of the time... also after searching for months for a gtr and you finally find a mint one, im going to bet your not going to want to park it at the shops etc... keep it in the garage and take it out when you want to go for a proper drive My advice (although i have never driven the euros etc) is if you have always liked and dreamed of owning a 34R is to buy one, as you will always be left wondering and may regret not getting one etc... -
That would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Hey mate would be interested to see how you go with this, i have a similar problem but trying to get one for a vspecII bonnet. Although the vspecII bonnet heat sheild is far less complicated, its only a small rectangle, so im considering going to a wreckers and shaping it to suit etc.. not sure if it would be possible to do the same on a series 1 bonnet?

**r34 Gtr V-Spec2** For Sale
GTR-34A replied to perzn_34's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Thats fair enough, If it is easy to inspect though, check it out, the kms will be reflected in the condition and should be pretty easy to tell... mine has similar kms and if it has been well looked after, should look 'as new'... At the end of the day, log books / papers can be fabricated, the condition is what you pay the extra for, and if it has been restored with non geunie kms and painted etc. will be as easy as getting a paint thickness gauge on there to verify. -
**r34 Gtr V-Spec2** For Sale
GTR-34A replied to perzn_34's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
I would say if the car was complied in Aus in december 2001, which means the car was bought over nearly brand new, I highly doubt this is an auction car. Owner will confirm though. -

Im keen, If theres is interest from newcastle area can organise a meetup for the trip down. -
yea ok cheers, i just called the local autobarn and they have some in stock so i will go have a look at them and see what there like. what did you do for rails? modify or buy aftermarket?
-
Yea i have had a look at those, wouldnt mind checking the drift ones out.. the east bears you can only get the drivers seats and my existing ones are grey so they wont match.. Got a price for the recaros above.... $2480 with rails ea... pretty pricy, i was hoping for around the 1500k-2000k mark mmm.. maybe drift seats with there logo retrimmed to nismo or something ha... I will sus them out. Thanks again.
-
Yea thats it, mainly wanting to preserve the condition of the ones i have, as they are nearly as new.. and good condition ones can be hard to find, and i know they deteriotate quite easily. not fussed on copys or not, im after a very straight look, and want to avoid brand names on the seats so if copys are good would be happy to get them, the above bride copys look good, will have to call JJ and see if they can still get them in black. Thanks for your help mate. I am getting a price on the below recaros, i dont mind the look of them, but it will easily be 3k+ for 2 im thinking..

http://www.motorsportseats.com/recaro/sportster.html Just found these, they look pretty nice.
-
I would love some m-spec seats bout doubt i would ever be able to get my hands on them.. also would like vspecII seats.. so if anyone has either of the two above, let me know.
-
Yea i did think i could have been an exact photo of a ztune ha... Nothing is wrong with my seats, there in top condition, i want to keep them that way though... theres pretty much nothing short of removing them to do that though. I dont really want a bride style seat, just want something simple and plain like the ones in the link above, dont need them to be the best seat in the world, and most quality seats i have seen dont fit what im after.. Any ideas/options im not seeing please post them up, but i have actually heard people say that some of the copys can be good? have no idea if this is right though.

Has anyone used / have any info on these JTM auto seats? they seem cheap and pretty clean looking? http://jtm-auto.com.au/73/list.asp?id=7273&classid=3529&meid=73 Im looking for a very clean (prefer no logos) style seat for my car, dont want to spend thousands on brides etc so does anyone know of any other good seats? Dont really want cheap shit seats in my car, but at the same time i dont want to pay 4k+ for seats as its only a street car etc.. Any info/feedback would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Anthony
