Yea fair enough mate. ha dont get me misunderstood, if i were to organise a cruise/meet mate, it would be open to all cars.. skylines to anything etc.. The OP's aim was to meet other local 34R owners as i was having trouble picking/choosing modifications for my car, and wanted to see some first hand and get there veiw/experience on things etc... but i have pretty much got my plan sorted now, but would love for abit more action in the newy car scene.. maybe im just out of the loop?..
-
Is yours an m-spec? i think i waved to you once around newy forshore in my yellow gtr... My mate said he saw a BB vspec out at the mines in the valley also.. Would love to get some meets together, and maybe a nice group shot of some newy 34Rs... was thinking of maybe organising a run to/around wollombi, although im not sure how friendly the roads are there?.. other one was going to be the north end of putty road and back.. other than that im not sure of many good roads around newcastle..

Advice On Buying A Car Time Again!

Evo X... Pretty good all round, has plenty of room, would be great on the track.. Not so good on fuel, but wouldnt be any worse than a big V8 of SUV etc... -
Yes i did ask Eugene for some guidance about how to keep it looking good. Pretty simple really. PH balanced wash with microfibre sponge/wash mit so it doesnt strip the wax, and inbetween washes dust/dirt can be removed with microfibre towels and quick detailer. washed only when required etc.. will require more sealant as required also etc.. to be honest, keeping my car clean has been really easy, as its only a weekender etc, and not driven regularly, it usually gets a waterless clean after every drive if i have time bit over the top, but easier than a full wash and probably less damaging if im only removing road grime etc.. wipes of very easy with a good sealant onit!

Looks good mate! Have you ever thought of adjusting your number plate up by drilling holes lower in the plate? I did this on mine to cover up the indented area that the jap plates sit flush into. Imo lt looks heaps cleaner if you cover that area up... Check out pics of mine if you want to have a look. -

yea fair enough mate, too easy. haha yea, thats spot on.. bit weird but effect all the same
-
very interesting! im guessing the yellow and the whites are thinner (guessing a non N1 white would be around the 125mm mark also) as they dont contain any pearl/metallic particals maybe?... dont really know?..
-
Thanks mate, seen a few pics of your car around also.. looks very clean, hopefully see it in person one day. you going to old pac highway cruise next sat night? I should be there if you decide to come.. would like to see a few 23Rs there fair enough mate.. and yea that rings a bell for him using that stuff... you getting next sat night off for the old pac cruise above? should be pretty fun.. would be good to catchup either way..

yea i doubt i would have got a vsII bonnet unless the one i got poped up for the price it did. not a huge fan of the z/s-tune style bonnets, i just like the clean look of the vsii bonnet, and wasnt real keen on any copys due to any fitment problems... im very picky with stuff like that on my car, and i have heard of some bad copys.. although im sure there are plenty of good ones out there... but its all personal choice really.. weight saving changing to carbon is barely worth mentioning, its only the cooling duct and styling that you do it for.. so 3.5-4k is too much really i think.
-
the NACA duct its self is cheap, around $50 or less.. then just pending were you take it to fit it and how much paint etc is needed to touch up around it and finishing etc, i would guess that $750 would be more than enough.. maybe around the $500 mark.. i dont think the NACA you buy seperate will have the exact out line of the factory one though... but that could probably be modified to be very close to it etc..
-
Cheers mate. you can add the NACA duct to the original aluminium bonnet, Terry did this on his black GTR.. turned out really good, but i believe it was slightly easier on that one as it was black, so the tie with the duct was very easy. I considered doing this also, but i wanted to keep my bonnet original, so the cost of buying another aluminium bonnet and modifying that etc.. would have cost too much in the end for me.. I was just lucky to find an original vsii bonnet for a decent price.. there is one for sale atm on here for 3500.. looks in good condition to... but after painting would cost around the 4k mark... alot of money for it, but they are so rare so i guess they can command pretty high prices!

Can't remember off the top of my head sorry, will have to look through past emails to see if Eugene mentioned what he uses.. I didn't do the detail myself Cheers mate, been admiring your car in the thread you started recently, seems we have very similar tastes when it comes to modifying these cars I have changed my car a lot from when I bought it also.. Have thought about starting a thread onit, one day, maybe when it's more complete ha... Very much so Matt! Ahh I don't remember if he said it was very hard or not, he did spend a lot of time onit though! Did you end up getting a detail done from him recently?
-
Cheers mate, haha was trying to get the sun on the right angle when I parked... Massive car park so was all good ha Thanks mate, agree the yellow is different in person, and the black wheels show up much better ha. With the bonnet, I posted a wtb add here and surprisingly within days import monster contacted me saying he had one... I was very lucky I think... And yea it's original, used to be white as there were no yellow vsii's made.

Cheers buddy

Cheers mate, haha was going to replace it but didnt get one today that I liked that is long and skinny etc... Will do soon though I'm sure. ^^^ very nice Mate, like it with the front diffuser back on! And the plates

Cheers mate, loving the addition of the bonnet also, small things can make a big difference!
