  1. is this for me?? they were advertised for mid 80s... but i rekon you could get a pretty good one for mid 70s... more than i want to spend, so i may need to re access and maybe look at it next year when work is more steady... would still cost less than my current situation though! and i rekon the c63 with the same tyres as my gtr would probably be quicker on the track... probably not with me behind the wheel though, they are meant to be a handful, but alot of fun ha.
  2. nah not a requirement, but i wont rule it out... still thinking about what i want, if i want 1 or 2 cars etc... test drove a c63 amg yessterday... was fairly impressive, sounded great, alot more comfy than i thought so would be fine for a daily... and had abit of balls, though i didnt have much room to really test it out.
  3. i am kinda, just wrote up a for sale add, but still not sure if i should sell it or not haha
  4. Couple of recent photos of mine with a fellow member.. Go team yellow haha
  5. do you have ones for the rear wheel arches or just the front?
  6. Your right, I am scared, of the bill I will have... cant afford it really, I may change cars to get 300 ha
  7. The only things i would have added to that list is injectors and cam gears, the cam gears should improve response (only if its tuned properly aswell etc)... with the above you should be able to get 300+ kw at all 4 i would think... your injectors (if there stok) will probably limit you to around 260ish and stop you from making best use out of the nice turbos you now have hope that helps, although sounds like it may be a little bit late if its going in tomorrow.
  8. Have you got adjustable cam gears? they beef up the midrange quite alot, they did for mine anyways.
  9. I have used state roads, have also heard good things.. they found the car i was looking at had been resprayed at the front, and believed there had been an accident but couldnt go into it much further unfortunately.... my advice though, get it checked out by someone more specialised, and on a hoist, i used Japlink motors myself, couldnt have been happier. ps, mine might be for sale in the next few months if yellow tickles your fancy, still tossing it up but it may have to go. pm me if interested. Cheers.
  10. yea we do need to organise some drinks again... any ideas for dates or venues? maybe something like we did ages ago, and meet up somewhere for a beer and a feed, and maybe a small cruise or something???
  11. I wouldnt have thought so? MX5s weight over double of the clubman, and they have the same power output. so could only think they would be and feel alot faster.
  12. Yea fair enough, thanks for the info... I would ideally want to buy prebuilt and already registered, as i have heard they can be quite difficult to get approval these days... http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Custom-Clubman-2005/SSE-AD-2243119/?Cr=11&sdmvc=1 something like this is what i was thinking... again though, have only done limited research.
  13. Good points... but i wouldnt get an actual lotus.... can get a prb clubman (super seven copy) for 25k... pretty much jump in and race??? and registered... 120kw weights 450ish kgs.. not sure how you would go about repairing though, only just started looking into them.
  14. Im considering getting rid of the gtr to do this as a cheaper option for a weekend/track/hillclimb car, can get the lotus super 7 kit cars that are road legal too... would have to be alot of fun i can only imagine....
  15. gunna try and service big bird this arvo... first hurdle, get it high enough to get my low profile juck under it.... i think i have found the solution by using rubber matts that were left in my house ha.
  16. Yea thats it, will see how things go. Would be very hard to say goodbye to big bird but!
  17. fair points, and yea the aim would be to go for the newer ones... but it is alot of money, and would only buy one if it was a pretty good daily (meaning i would need a sedan) unless i find a nice RS6 station wagon for a good price... big car but a twin turbo v10 with over 500hp would keep me pretty happy haha... will see what happen in the future anyways... gota sort out my finances and see whats possible.
  18. haha thats a challenge matt, if i get one of the above will see who can post the best time... i would probably need slicks but haha. the idea of a euro car is there isnt much need to modify it (to a great extent), although i love modifying cars, its very expensive and can end badly or with a car that can be too impractical for me to use everyday etc.. and as saying, a weekend car for me atm just isnt getting enough use, but a cheaper track/weekend car could be an option, but im also getting over 3 regos and insurances ha... yea a caterham would be uneral, imagine that thing on putty, would be interested to see if i was held up or struggle to keep up against you guys in one of them there ha.
  19. Yea no problem mate, im in no rush at this stage (unless i lose my job, which is a possability atm ha) more than likely be in the first half of next year if its going to happen. Yea will see how the track day goes, but either way not sure if it will make a difference, with me getting into motorbikes and buying a house, I just dont get the time to drive the car as much as i should, and if i was going to build it for the track, its just too risky being such an expensive car that is uninsured when on there if you know what i mean, if i really like it may look at replacing it with a cheaper car that i can feel better about tracking etc.. thoughts at this stage are getting something good everyday and abit of fun (this is selling both the gtr and passat), like bmw m3 sedan or maybe c63 amg (funds permitting...) could take these to the shops, on cruises and to the track and perform quite well at all of them. or just selling the gtr and getting something like a caterham super 7 that i can use on weekends, trackdays and hillclimbs... and a nice italian superbike to go along with it haha...
  20. yea all good mate, sounds good... hopefully i will still have my car... thoughts of selling have been cropping up again, but probably not untill the new year at this stage.
  21. yea seems everyone is really busy these days... myself included. someone else can step up and start organising things again maybe??
  22. and on house crap... car hasnt moved since i got there...
  23. ha cheers mate. made a mistake in my post too.. my wheels are actually +15 aswell. What are you plans for the old wheels on your car? just try and find some either cheap rubber, or second hand rubber, then sell them off as a package once the new ones arrive?
  24. ive got 18x10.5 +12 aswell... i put on 295/30 and imo they are a perfect fit, nice and chunky, fluch with the wheels, fills the guards nicely and no scrubbing issues either. wether you could run them on standard gtr rims, i think they would be too wide
  25. No problem mate, any idea if that muffler is louder than the oval type with the straight tip? not the oval tip one, if that makes sense ha
