  1. Just Car quoted me $3200 a year; inc. pod, exhaust, racing pedals + $1000 stereo. 3rd Party Fire + Theft is only $650, with the same mods, so I'm definitely getting that. I'd still like to know what the R32 GTS-t needs to be complied, though.
  2. Oh, and I need to know if people on their P's are allowed to drive R32's... From what I know, I think they are; the girlfriend of my mate's brother drives her boyfriends (my mates brother) R33 GTS25t; and she is on her P's. Just want to get things absolutely clear; I've read that in a couple of states P platers can't drive some GTS-t's (eg. R33's), but are allowed to drive others (R32's).
  3. $1500 sounds about the average price (still damn expensive though). It depends on what the R32 needs to be complied -- hopefully it has a few of the things (retractable lap-sash rears and a high rear brake light, for starters) already. It'd be great if I could do it myself, it all just depends on what needs to be done.
  4. http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au has a couple of R32 GT-R's for $16000; if your brother is interested in one, act really quickly.
  5. I'm looking at importing a 1989 R32 GTS-t through Prestige Motorsport within the next few months (to have it imported after May). Obviously, I need to get a car built in May, but I'll persevere. Anyway, I want to find out how much most people spent on compliancing their R32's, so I know how much money I'll have to spent on the car itself. It seems most examples go for around $8000, inc. the broker's fee, and exc. compliancing. I have about $10000 all up.
  6. Hmm, how much is a SAFC from a shop (eg. XSpeed)? I'd love to get one, but it could be a month (or a little longer) before I find a suitable R32 GTS-t for import.
  7. The height of your headlights above the ground is dependent on state. From what I can remember, us guys in WA have the most 'restrictive' distance for the headlights. But it's nothing to worry about, really. Buy the time you get that low, you'd be suffering from other problems.
  8. It would depend on your drivetrain (AWD drivetrains lose more power than that of a RWD or FWD 'train). I'd estimate about 500hp (330kW x 1.35 + 55) on a RWD setup, or about 530hp on an AWD setup. And remembe, these figures are just estimates.
  9. Oh, and would 17x8's fit on a R32 GTS-t/GTS4?
  10. Check out www.prestigemotorsport.com.au -- I'm looking to import a R32 GTSt or a GTS4 from them in the next couple of months (also to avoid the import laws changing on me).
  11. If you want new wheels, check these out: http://www.donnellans.com.au/wheelsfolder/enkei.htm - Enkei Tarmac Evo (17x8) http://www.donnellans.com.au/wheelsfolder/...r/buddyclub.htm - Buddy Club P1 Racing QF (white, 18x8) Nothing beats white wheels on a black or white car
  12. Damn that car is sweet; they also tested a HKS one against a HKS 350Z in the Dec-Jan issue of SPEED magazine. The V35 350GT is the replacement for the R34 GTT; it will be another 3 years until we see the R35 GT-R, it seems -- they show it at the Tokyo Motorshow, and the next one (in 2005) hasn't given them enough time.
  13. Call your local Nissan dealership; I think the GT spec 200sx's had 17's.
  14. You'd think the Oz-delivered GTR globes would fit.
  15. Blaming others for the mistakes of reckless individuals is exactly what the media, police and government are doing now. Drivers need to be educated; not just in advanced driver-training, but throughout their entire learning process, from L's to P's. They need to learn to respect other drivers, and to understand the concepts and physics of handling a motor vehicle (not just in an optional, ~$600 course). I, myself, am looking forward to getting my car in a few months time (July), and will most likely be importing a R32 GTS4. Sure, many of you may think that this car is too powerful for someone my age -- and it is, if I chose to drive it recklessly and beyond my abilities. But I don't, and I won't. Traffic light drags are stupid, as-is speeding (though the 3km tolerance is pathetic). I'm actually going through the WA learners manual now, and it is the most uninformative piece of trash I've ever read. A picture book has more relevant information.
  16. Haha; that'd be one trip he'd never forget.
  17. Gold doesn't look so good with the silver sides. Gunmetal is my preference over what you've shown, but I have a fetish for white wheels - especially with those tyres you have on your car. What are they? Pirellis? Falkens?
  18. The gold doesn't look so good with the silver sides. Gunmetal, on the other hand, looks sweet with those tyres. What are they? Pirellis? Falkens?
  19. Do what the guys from MOTOR (the magazine) do -- challenge every traffic fine you get by taking it to court. It doesn't cost much more; and sometimes it can cost less. Ask questions such as: Why did the officer follow me for such a time, instead of having me pull-over right then and there? Perhaps the officers judgement was clouded as he seemed to be extremely angry about something else?
  20. Powerplay Imports has a couple in-stock though.
  21. Personally, I'd go for either a mint-condition R32 GT-R (and modify it nicely), or a R34 GT-T.
  22. Just Car quoted me (for when I am 17), around $3000 a year for comprehensive (on a R32 GTS-4), or ~$650 3rd party fire-and-theft. I think I know which one I'll be taking, unfortunately.
  23. I've heard that too; though it is probably a good bet to replace the 'rods on most cars by the time you'll need to replace them on the RB20.
  24. I'm looking at going through Prestige Motorsport myself; everyone seems to say good things about them and their web-site is well laid out and explains things in detail.
