  1. When you lower a Skyline (or any performance Nissan, for that matter), the rear ends up suffering from severe negative camber. A fix for this is the Whiteline camber kit. The Handling Pack is also a good option; I'm getting that for my GTS-t.
  2. No, Whiteline recommended the Handling Pack, though I also wanted to get the springs (same ones as the Sports Pack). Probably not the best idea with the standard shocks. Check out the document here; it has all of the part numbers and prices. $615 (+ $275 fitting) for the Handling Pack, and $1339 (+ $225) for the Sport. Combining them will give you 'the Works', and that is $1850 (+ $450).
  3. The 0-100 figures for the GT-T are about 6.1 seconds, compared to the Aus-delivered S15 at 6.8. Though, they usually mean nothing as a few mods will get the S15 up to speed.
  4. Personally, I'd definitely go the R34 25GT-T. Amazing looking car. In black or white, take your pick. The R34 is larger, and has a slightly more roomy interior. Stacks of mods for both cars, so that's not a problem. I can't say too much handling wise, but both cars could be made to handle well with basic suspension upgrades (Whiteline's handling kit/sports pack/works).
  5. Very nice there. What paint did you use to do the Nissan logo? Red or gold looks sweet on black cars; red, black or blue on white cars, but any suggestions for gunmetal or silver cars (eg. R32 GTS-t)?
  6. Stock exhaust? Nice one And like the guys above said, still get it checked out.
  7. Got a reply; they've recommended the Handling Pack to me. Coupling that with a pair of springs to lower the ride height seems the most cost-effective option; and, most importantly, it will allow me to spend money elsewhere (exhaust, intake). Should cost me around $1200.
  8. I don't think the car lets you manually change gears. It isn't a sequential auto. But don't take my word for it; get it checked out.
  9. Put a clear coat over them the next night to get a nice 'shine' as well.
  10. Also check out http://www.donnellans.com.au/ - they've got quite a large range. A couple of notable mention would be the Buddy Club's and the Enkei Tarmac Evo's.
  11. Buy one already in Australia. They go for around $5000 (known as the Trueno).
  12. Thanks for the help there Sydneykid. I am checking out the Whiteline site now; it seems that their 'Sports Pack' ($1500, fitted) is pretty suitable. Either that or the 'Works'. I'll fire off an email to Whiteline and see what they say.
  13. Thanks for that. The side intrusion bars will probably be the most expensive thing.
  14. Not too steal the show, though I myself was looking at getting a cat-back soon for a R32 GTS-t. Being the brand-name guy I am, the APEXi N1 was looking great, though it exceeds the 90db limit. I was thinking of getting the Super Silencer fitted (welded), to reduce the noise, but thought I might find another good brand-name exhaust that works just as well and produces less noise. Any ideas? 5Zigen? HKS? It's gotta be less than $1500.
  15. I hate it when people mention 'tall poppy' syndrome. Most of us are just trying to offer helpful advice; unfortunately sometimes people respond a little too harshly. Really, go the AE86. Quick, but not too quick. Great handling (though don't take that as 'invincible'). Cheap, reliable and runs on standard Unleaded (not RON98 = $$$), as well as having reasonable insurance rates. And it's not a target for thieves (for the most part). Use the money you save to put towards some nice wheels and race buckets -- you can always transfer them to your next car after you're done with the AE86
  16. MOTOR and Wheels use Avalon...
  17. What Tein's are they? I'd definitely be getting the coilovers without the pillow upper mounts. http://www.tein.co.jp/hadampe.html - On the softest setting, the damper rates are supposedly only a few degrees off what the standard rates are. The spring rates as stated as UAS: F:65mm(diameter) 8.0k/200mm R: 65mm(diameter) 7.0k/250mm The Whiteline springs look pretty nice, though they cost about $1500 more than the Teins.
  18. Try www.pccasegear.com.au - EL cable of all kinds; 12V compatible -- meant for PC's, though no doubt a little soldering or such would get it to work.
  19. Plus, 1989 GTS-4's are pretty rare. According to SPEED magazine, the GTS-t and GTS-4 first started production in May. The GT-R was in August. I myself am tossing up between a R32 GTS-t and a GTS-4 -- leaning towards the GTS-t though. Lighter, and supposedly more nimble around the twisties (except for hairpins and in the wet). Good for some track days with a set of Tein HA coilovers
  20. Well, I'm looking at getting some decent coilovers for an R32 GTS-t, and would like some recommendations. At the moment, I'm looking at the APEXi WS coilovers ($2700), or the Tein HA kit ($2200). I'm leaning towards the APEXi's, but I'm not sure whether they are damper adjustable like the Teins' are.
  21. Anything but a GT-R. Way too powerful for a first car; heck, even experienced drivers can get into trouble with a GT-R. AE86's seem to be pretty popular; small, light and RWD. Silvia's or 180SX's would be the next step up.
  22. The Nismo ones are about $660 from www.n-1.com.au -- if it includes the master cylinder stopper, that's not too bad. Myself, I'd only buy the brand name stuff. You know what you're working with then. But the Whiteline stuff is pretty decent anyway.
  23. Half of them probably will end up leaving you in a couple of weeks; and your car will go mysteriously missing a few days later...
  24. Keep the S-AFC. You can still get it tuned, as it will allow you to run a setup designed for our RON98 fuel (instead of the RON100 in Japan). Most likely give you smoother power delivery and less chance of detonation.
  25. Considering that Nissan and Ford Aus. both use Garett turbos, it isn't that hard to imagine.
