  1. Is that the generation 3 long tube stillen intake? Which exhaust where you thinking of getting? I am about to order the intake from eBay but was wondering about getting a good exhaust, shipping prices are expensive though.
  2. I'm down guys, i've only met a few v35/36 owners but i'm starting to see more v skylines on the road here in Sydney. Sharing info./advice would be nice.
  3. With my every day driving in the city, manual mode and i give it quite often i get about 380K's a tank. I did experiment a little and for one week i drove on normal Drive mode, didnt push it much at all and I got about 450K's. But I purchased a sports car for a reason so i started giving it again on manual mode, yes you spend a few bucks more but if i wanted to save on fuel I would have kept my Maxima.
  4. Hi Michael I agree with everyone here and you should go for a 370 sedan. In terms of the 0-100 specs, I dont know where you got 6.1 sec for the 350 but both cars have a very similar 0-100 times at around 5.3 - 5.6 seconds. I dont see how you could be disappointed in one of these if you want a mixture of luxury and performance. Please bare in mind that Infiniti will be releasing the car in Australia next year and im 99% sure it will be a new model and shape. However, they will charge about 60-80K for sure. Importing one now is obviously the better value choice.
  5. They are very similar, i think it will go down to which car has the better gear box and the driver. I would love to take one on I have seen a couple but I doubt many of them would try to take on a v36. Dam v36 why did it have to be so heavy.
  6. Yes our laws sucks balls. I recently lost my license for 3 months but continued driving everyday. Funny enough I got pulled over on my last day of suspension for random breath testing, i was shitting my pants when he pulled me over thinking that im f**ked now but he didnt check my license and let me go. Im always speeding, I know its bad and that even though i get away with it 99% of the time it only takes one big fine to f**k you over. I was also thinking of taking my car to the track and see its capabilities. Maybe one day.
  7. You got to watch those M badges, the real ones anyways. Although our arch-nemesis is the 335, this is the only car I want to beat one day. It is a quicker car but most 335 drivers are "older" and most likely wont challenge an unknown Nissan coupe with huge wheels and brakes.
  8. No it shouldnt, maybe those automatic car wash machines will and also provide some nice scratches. If you are doing some detailed paint work it probably will.
  9. The entertainment options in the console is easy to use without any conversions. You can rip your CD's onto the hard drive and you also have a Compact Flash card slot for all your mp3's. No need for bluetooth unless you purchase all your music from itunes. As for the GPS if you are prepared to spend big money now you might as well wait until Infiniti releases the car in OZ next year and then get a proper full conversion done. I'm sure there will be a way then. Also, my advice once you get the car don't play with the GPS buttons you might activate it and it will keep on speaking Japanese, it was entertaining for the first 10 minutes but after a few days you go crazy. Took me a while to learn how to turn off the voice.
  10. Mate the interior difference alone is a reason to go for the series 2 model. Woodgrain in the first series looks ugly. The power is the same i believe the 2006 model came with the power increase. I wouldnt worry about a snow button. Also, after reading the differences years ago when I was looking to get a v35 there were some known issues in the first series that were sorted in the series 2 skyline. I would also assume you are getting bigger wheels in the 2005 model as well.
  11. Ever since i got my v36 I've noticed that lesser performance cars like to go at it with me and try to race me when they can while the higher performance (more expensive) cars usually just cruise by. Obviously people driving expensive sports cars are usually enthusiasts with no interest in street racing but people with cheaper sports cars like to show off but usually get smoked. But I also think people with real expensive sports cars are probably afraid to race a v36 or even a v35 since they dont know its true potential and dont want to lose riding a 100K+ sports car. I think the element of the unknown gives these cars street credit.
  12. I believe the average thickness in Australia based cars is 160 microns. If its around 100 it would still be healthy. Anything lower just means you wont be able to do some paint re-work if you need to get rid of scratches.
  13. Yeah i really like this colour, its not obvious and could look different depending on sunlight and what time of day. Although I have to admit Pearl white was my first preference but this was definitely my second.
  14. Thank you, actually its Blue Slate but nobody can guess it. It does look grey a lot of the times though lol.
  15. Thanks man, yeah the v35's had real bad choice of woodgrain, some were too dark and some too light and all were just so out of place with the silver centre console. This ones is way better than my maxima's wood grain actually feels very solid.
  16. Hi Guys Purchased my v36 a couple of months ago been wanting to post some pics for a while now but never had the time, finally took some decent shots. This is a 2007 SP model with sunroof.
  17. Yeah you can get good clean v36's for mid 40's now. Mine cost me low 40's, SP model with Sunroof and 30,000K's. 4.5 Grade. 50K was a good price 12months ago but not anymore. I see some resellers selling some for 55K in Sydney even with high K's, definitely a big profit margin there.
  18. I'm just going to wait until the car is released in Oz and see how much it will cost to convert the whole navi/centre screen. If its too expensive I might wait until one comes through the wreckers. I'd rather have the whole thing converted including menu's and stuff rather than a quick fix solution.
  19. I wouldn't look in Australia for these, they are still rare cars to find on the road so to find the spare wheels will be almost impossible. I would look for some in the U.S. The G37 has been around for a while and the Aussie dollar is strong.
  20. Yes Infiniti is coming to Australia next year, I think this is their second attempt but I think this time they will succeed. The Sedan, Couple and 4WD's will offer more luxury and performance for a better price compared to the Germans. I've never owned a German car really but my uncle used to have a new shape 325 coupe and to be honest the interior was quite bland. My v36 definitely feels and looks better than the beemer. Only other contender to the v36 is the i350 Lexus, the Lexus looks good and is quite luxurious but it wont beat the nissan in performance. And for anyone looking to purchase a v36, don't pay more than 50K for a car up to 09. You are being ripped if you do.
  21. At the end of the day colour is a personal preference but definitely black is hard to maintain but for me the worst part of this colour is that it hides the beautiful curves of this car. Thats why i said it looks too much like a v35 because its difficult to notice at first the difference in curves initially. Power wise the sedan is fine but you dont get the bigger wheels and much bigger breaks, so at the end of the day if practicality is your major concern then sedan is better but sportiness, looks wise the coupe is better. Technically the prices of the v36's 07-09 shouldn't change in price much after Infiniti releases its car in Australia. Prices will drop a little because it will be cheaper to buy from Japan but I believe resellers will probably jack up prices after they compare it too a local model which would be around 80K brand new. I think Fabcar are selling the G37 convertible for about 80K. They are always over priced probably due to different tax costs in WA but for that price I'd rather wait and buy it locally since it wouldnt be that much more.
  22. I haven't taken photos of my car yet surprisingly enough and Im even into photography lol, but i will over the next few days and post some up for sure. The self healing paint is only on the >2009 models, mines a 2007. 07 and 08 present best value, you pay so much more for a 2009 which basically has the paint feature and the 7-speed auto (if you are after auto). So far it appears there is only one reliable and proven installer of a Aussie GPS for the v36 skylines and he is in Brisbane. Its >3K and will need a few days. All the coupes have the new 3.7l engine while the 07 and 08 sedans had the 3.5' engine. 07 sedans are dirt cheap these days you can pick up one for low 30's for sure but they just dont look no where near as good as the coupes. The sedans arent as wide and have smaller wheels. Same luxury options. They really dont hold price well and arent very appealing but if you need the 4 doors then go for it. you wont get a better blend of luxury and performance for its price. I would recommend looking first hand at a black v36 and you will see my point. Ive seen almost all the colours and white was my favourite but blue slate is definitely my second. Silver is nice too, Gun Metal ok, Red, no comment.
  23. My advice is don't go for the black. It may seem like the best colour but really its probably the worst. It looks too much like a v35 and you can see every single little scratch on the body. If you can get a white one then that would be much better. Although white is hard to find too. I recently got a Blue Slate SP model with Sunroof, the selling point was the sunroof as it was really hard to find. GPS conversion is still a bitch and expensive. Definitely a good car to purchase, beautiful drive and so much gadgets.
