  1. Here is my problem. I purchased my car with a modified std plenum (throttle body cut and welded to the front), as im upgrading to a larger turbo and goin to push around 20psi shortly. I dint want any detonation problems caused by uneven distribution of air between cylinders that the plenum would (probably) cause. So over the long w.e i fited a Chinese GReddy plenum. The previous plenum setup ran perfect with my power fc (tuned for std turbo,injectors,afm,12psi) and even on the std ecu. With the new plenum fitted car fired up first crank, idle was abit rough though expected, when for a drive and there is a masive loss of power. Car is struggling to rev through the range, as if a shit load of timing has been pulled out (similar to R&R) but worse. Do you think it could throw the tune out because of the shorter runners and overall volume change ect of the new plenum, or have i done somthing wrong (followed the wright up in DIY). Like a big vac leak, all looms are pluged in,i used gsket goo between head and plenum but also reused factoty metal gasket. Holds boost fine. Also plugged std ecu back in idles perfect and drove allot better but not 100%. Sorry for essay. What do you guys think.
  2. or even better on a fg falcon turbo, with their 76mm comp wheel and .5 cover. should be awesome on a 25
  3. Whats the go with the anti surge slots on all the 20gs atm?
  4. any thoughts of the TD06SL2 w/ Garrett 60-1. Same 11 blade (trust spec) rear wheel and 10cm housing, but with a comp wheel is more like the size of 25g. 3 inch inlet, and the comp housing dosent look to be as big as the t67, so should be able to low mount on standard manifold without too many problems. if the 20g falls short of 280rwk + on 98 (waiting for jez or artz ), shorely the bigger comp wheel could get it around the 300 mark. Or would it be too laggy (mismatched) and not worthwhile. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kinugawa-Turbocharger-3-Anti-Surge-TD06SL2-w-Garrett-60-1-T3-10cm-V-Band-Hsg-/290650010977?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43ac173561#ht_2543wt_1185
  5. Anticipating sl2 results for a while know (have read the whole 70 pages), and have been watching the kando thread closely. i was goin to purchase the 20g after christmas but this t3 came up. See how we go
  6. my point exactly you dint even read the specs, and quick to jump to the conclusion its junk. and yes i do know there are many t04 wheels, thats why i posted it up in the first place , to see if anyone could identify it. End of the day i bought cheap and could get rid of it for the same price, if it useless on a 25.
  7. thanks for your reply zebra, yes hope it was balanced to an execrable tolerance
  8. if you dont know thats fine. dont post
  9. was waitng for your post same shit on evry t3/ t4 topic i have read. Yes you can tell how much power a turbo can make , including it response(to an extent) by comparing its wheel diameters and shape to proven combinations. If u dont have anything constructive to say f**k from hear. by the way Ebay is a maket place they dont build turbos you dick.
  10. i know what you mean. more interested to see what people think of the wheel trim combo, as the housing are a good match for a mild rb25.
  11. I stumbled across t3/ t4 turbocharger (garrett comp housing) on ebay that i ended up buying for pretty cheap. It caught my intrest because of the housing sizes which seemed spot on for my needs, so i couldn't resist. it has been rebuilt with a .5 garrett comp housing. the rear seems to be some generic t3 .82 with a 5 bolt dump. The previous owner didnt know much about it, wheel trims ext. I pulled the housing off and measured the inducer and exducer of both wheels. If someone could teel me what this combination is, or what power it is good for i would be fantastic. it wiil be goin on an internally stock rb25 (if i use it), std manifold with a tial 44mm gate welded to it.my aim is for 260kw and up. do you thing this turbo would be suitible, boost response ect, mainly going to be used as drift car. aprox wheel measurements are: comp side, inducer 48.29 mm exducer 70mm Turbine side exducer 48mm inducer 58mm. Wich equals a 47 trim and 68 trim if i calculated correctly, which seems very small. i have attached some photos so you can see the wheel designs and housings. Any info would be very helpful. cheers guys. p.s dont flame me because it old technology dinasure turbo, some combinations have been very successful in the past. http://imageshack.us...1212184340.jpg/ http://imageshack.us...1212183725.jpg/ http://imageshack.us...1212181927.jpg/ http://imageshack.us...1212181901.jpg/ http://imageshack.us...1212181846.jpg/ <br class="Apple-interchange-newline">
  12. take off the left cam cover as it will give you a bit more room and a straighter angle, give it a crack from the top with ratchet ring spanner. If you have got one with the end the pivots on a hinge will make your life easier. Stil not easy butt i eventually got mine off. hope it helps mate
  13. im on the edge of my seat, waiting for dyno results of the L2 on a rb25..
