  1. Exactly the same as the R33 GTST. I did mine before prank had his tutorial up, and it's spot on for the GTST as well.
  2. yep... was your prices including postage to melbourne?
  3. There is no way you can break your gearbox by installing the kit You just need to put a bit of oil on the stick so the rubber bit can slide over it. I'd save the $50 and at least have a go at installing it. You can always put the stock one back in and take it somewhere.
  4. Greenline do the Tomei Cam Gear for $207
  5. heard bad things about HKS ones. They only have 3 points of fixation, the tomei/osgiken ones have 5 points
  6. What do these usually go for second hand? Anyone got one new for sale under $200? Cheers, Andrew
  7. it would look better on a GTR cos they have wide guards.
  8. yeah it's good!!! I can't wait to get my engine fixed so i can really test it out. But it feels nice
  9. well i've got a big wide GTR style wing on my car, and i'm not a huge fan of batmobile spoilers. And once i lower the car a little more over the 18's a boot lip spoiler will look better from all angles. It's not much for the spoiler, but it's the painting and fitting. I've got other priorities on the car that need attention first!!! but when something cheap comes up it's almost like you are saving money by buying it!! lol
  10. yep... and it's in the car. I've only driven it once though!!!! I drive a shitbox to uni and back so the short shifted skyline will get a run tonight
  11. Hmmm... i'm umming and aahhing as to whether i should get one
  12. can you convert hydraullic lifters to solid lifters? if so, what needs to be done and how would you go about doing it? Cheers, Andrew
  13. well it's usually a kit, so flywheel/clutch in one... and it's determining factor of whether it will fit or not is if the clutch is push type or pull type. I forget what the R32 GTR and R33 GTST's are, i think they are pull type. i have an os giken twin plate on my 33 gtst and love it to bits... VERY easy to drive!!!
  14. this will also suit an R33 GTST...
  15. yeah i'd like more pics too... lots of them is it the same as this one? and this one?
  16. i put oil on the shifter and the rubber bit and then just pulled it down over the top, then wiped off any excess at the end. also i found that fitting the large metal spacer inside the shift casing didn't fit first time. I had to get a file out and file off some burred edges in the grooves of the gearbox shift housing. It is just from wear and tear. But the difficult thing is doing it with out letting the filings go into the gearbox. So what i did was put a bit of oil on the small file, and some on my finger... i'd give it a bit of a file and then wipe the inside clean and also wipe the file, then i'd put a bit more oil on the file again. This just helps the metal filings stick to the file so they don't drop into the gearbox. Pictures 9 and 10, where you are putting the spacer in, show the gaps i'm talking about. Roughly halfway down where the metal splines from the plastic bit sit in those gaps were worn a little and stuck out just enough so the spacer wouldn't fit all the way down.
  17. i was expecting the stick to be shorted too... but it looks stock, just feels tighter and has a shorter throw.
  18. it's a pair of pliers like pointed nose pliers, but about 1.5cm from the end they bend 90 degrees forward. Hard to explain... It's not a cutting device.
  19. mate... no jacking required. It came with an instruction booklet but it's in japanese... the pictures gave enough info on how to remove the old gear stick and put the new one in. I wouldn't pay $50 to install it, too easy to do. Just take the gearstick boot/plastic bit off, undo the screws and then follow the pictures.
  20. Well i got mine in today, and it works a treat... pretty easy to install. About 45min if take your time and you have the tools. Makes the gearbox feel much sharper... i haven't actually taken it for a good drive, but i will tonight!!! Thanks again Chris Andrew
  21. Crazy...thanks for that!!! It'll give me something to do over the weekend Or i could wait untill i've got my new engine in and put it all in at the same time
  22. yeah i'm gonna install mine myself too... can't be too much harder than changing a head gasket thanks again Chris!
  23. yep... i've decided i'll have one of the ECR33 short shifters for my R33 Skyline... i've been putting off getting one for ages now, and this is $50 cheaper than i've been able to find anywhere on the net! So put me down for one, i've sent a pm! Cheers, Andrew
  24. well i just bought myself a HKS Hiper anyway...
  25. Are quick shift kits harder on the synchro's? cos i think my synchro's might be a little worn, and don't want to stuff them up any more! Some times i miss a gear when shifting into 3rd and 4th. Otherwise a good price and i'll check the bank account! Cheers, Andrew
