The days of large businesses making these sorts of decisions based on ideologies alone are long gone. Nissan know they have a responsibility to their shareholders to make as much cash as they can, the slick wankers in charge aren't car enthusiasts. They are money hungry narcs and they will stop at very little to make more money, it's what they do. I don't see them binning a hugely successful, iconic and profitable car just because they have achieved some fluffy goal. You want a chunky prediction? We will see the R36 this decade.
