  1. afaik there arent that many good places to take your car on the coast (I may be wrong) but i've usually only ever heard good things about places in brisbane. There aren't that many places listed on the coast in here anyway, so reading back wont do you much good rod. Cum on guys, lay off him, lol he cops more shit than a n00b.
  2. in case your lazy and cant be bothered reading that thread. No you dont need a new head, and yes the box bolts up...it's a relatively simple procedure that most workshops are well and truly accustomed to by now.
  3. 280 plus kw....well it depends, is there anything wrong with your bottom end at the moment? An rb30 bottom end has proven results and wont be as expensive as buying a 25 bottom end and then building it from there. However, if you have an ok rb25 bottom end, then you can build that up using forged pistons and crack&pressure tested, shot peened rods....or forged rods if you so desire. Expect anywhere from 5-7k, but like jamie said, it all depends on what parts you want and how "bulletproof" you want to make it.
  4. im with Melv, push it a little more ...although, I "pushed it a little more" at the track on wednesday 1.3bar and 450rwhp was the end of my bottom end though.....on the other hand I have a 25 and you have a 26, so I assume you can handle a little more. Find out. Either way, nice cars and good results. Matt
  5. hmmmm i dont think he got anyone, apart from maybe chris .....has he made any follow up posts since his origional one?? I cbf looking back..
  6. saw your car there too, looked very nice. It's the one with the leather recaros? I didnt get a chance to see you run, as after I threw a rod, by the time I got back to the stands most of the runs had stopped. Not a bad effort for you first time at the track and is by far a better effort than the one that I put forth. GL on saturday and let us know what you run. Matt
  7. major mods are as follows: HKS 3037 turbo, HKS manifold and 55mm ex gate, Greddy plenum, Tomei Cams, Nismo (750cc assuming) injectors, GTR fuel pump, Fconv computer, 110mm drag trust cooler...thats basicly the major engine mods, it was running a stock bottom end and hence why it's let go, just really sucks about the timing. From what I've heard 3L is the way to go, can anyone suggest somwhere to do the build? I know its a good/bad rep for any shop but its interesting to hear what ppl have to say none the less (in regard to building rb's and especially rb30 motors). Cheers Matt
  8. the bottom end was standard running 1.3bar, pushing in excess of 400hp. It threw the rod out the block reving at a max of 7500...dunno what happend. Just to much for a stock bottom end, I guess.
  9. most of the info on the ppl that went is on the previous page.....as you can see, i didnt have the best of nights
  10. the car will be punished severley for the pain its just put me through....lol!! Anyway talked to some workshops today..still tossing up on the whole rb30 idea, all i can say is time AND MONEY will tell.
  11. yea just post them up....any of my quality second burnout...lol
  12. did you get anymore pics of my car?
  13. yea, im not to impressed, after i stop crying today (joking) I will get the car towed to a workshop, im open to suggestions at this stage! I was going to have the bottom end rebuilt as most of you know, but I hadn't planned for it to be so soon. Timing isnt the best but I guess i'll have to make do. But dont worry, the car will be back at the track to run a decent pass within a couple of months
  14. think yourself lucky, I put a rod out the block at willowbank tonight....god damn stock bottom end running 1.2bar and 7500revs...it would have been putting out around 400+hp but still....the bottom end should have stuck, stupid pos....anyway. What do you guys reckon for the rebuild, throw me ideas, im pretty sure ill stick to another 25 block, obviously foged, but what brand...I was going to go tomei rods and pistons, but does anyone know if I need to get the crank machined and balanced as well or should it be ok as is? Cheers Matt
  15. For all those that went tonight, I was the white skyline that threw a rod on the track...yep lol, an expensive rebuild is coming my way earlier than what I expected. On the upside it will be built tougher this time to withstand that sort of punishment.....On the downside, i've only had the car under a month and i've been threw an engine...thats not promising. Anyway, hope everyone else had a good time and thanks soooooooo much to rod who drove me home and bought me food, your a champ and tell your misses I hope she got her sleep cheers, Matt
  16. runs usually stop around 10.30ish.....so whos up for tonight?
  17. gates open 5.30 rod, im getting there around 5 though! As sometimes they let ppl in early and you will get way more runs being first there....if your gonna go, let me know and we'll cruise down together..k Matt
