  2. any idea on wheel offset?? and are you sure they are 8.5" and 9.5" wide, all the size charts that I have found for these rims only list 7.5" 8" and 9"
  3. it's not an R33 it is an R34 shell to begin with
  4. or pull the shifter out (manual box) and fill slowly through the shifter...just need to measure how much your putting in
  5. ^^^Redline light weight shockproof (blue coloured oil) and overfill 0.5L as above, if that don't work... ...time to rebuild g'box or at very least replace 4th gear synchro...if the synchro is already screwed then there will be metal shavings throughout box already probably replace all bearings (~$200 for all of them) plus other synchros depending on budget
  6. changing oil in box may help with stiff shifts the noise that is there with clutch out but goes away when clutch is in is most likely from your thrust bearing, cheap part to replace but you have to pull the whole box out to get to it (ie a $30 part with $350 labour to replace...unless your doing it yourself). Personally I wouldn't worry about the thrust bearing, the noise while annoying won't damage your box, just replace it when your clutch goes
  7. OS Giken rebuild kit: try Jason at www.greenline.jp (~10 days usually after ordering) TR2CD for S13/14 was $850 delivered Kit A (replaces all plates and discs) or ~$1000 for kit B (same but also has new clutch cover). Otomoto were more $$$
  8. For stud pattern 5H114.3, Buddy Club made the following: 17" x8.0 +32 offset 17" x9.0 +17 or +37 Do you have a staggered set of 8 (F) and 9 (R} or are all rims 17 x9??? (I am interested in either a set of 17 x8 +32 (F & R) or staggered rear with 17 x9 +37) Any chance you could take a pic looking down the side of the car both front and rear?? (or pics with front wheels pointed straight ahead)
  9. 17" is diameter how wide are they and can you look on the inside of the rim to see if it has offset stamped onto it (ie are they 7"/8"/9" wide)

  11. S15 box is MUCH weaker than RB25DET box (huge difference in cog width)...you would be better off lookiing at R34 GTR 6spd and dealing with transfer case issue atleast the box will last longer if 6 speed is your thing

  13. diff ratio for S15 manual is definitely 3.7 and 3.9 for auto unfortunatley the length of the halfshafts in the helical S15 are unique and are a different length to that of all other R200 diffs.....go speak to a diff shop/jap import shop first but I have been lead to believe that you can't just change crown/pinion on the helical. as long as you use a diff with ABS sensor in it your speedo and odo will continie to work (I used an ABS diff from a CA but bolted the S15 sensor on as is much newer). I have chnaged to an RB25 box on my S15 and initially had 3.7 diff...gears very long, now have 4.3 ratio and certainly revs out/accelerates much quicker, on both occasions speedo reading changed for any given gear and RPM and at present I think the calibration is either spot on or 2-3% out (unfortunately I never wrote down speed readings/RPM with 6spd box to compare 5th gear against 4th gear of new box ie 1:1 ratio) The 6 speed is already short ratio box, if I were you I'd look at 3.9 or at most a 4.1 final ratio

  16. Need some help identifying the electrical plugs/connections on the RB25DET g'box. My SR20DET (S15) now runs an RB25DET g'box but none of the plugs are connected and I need to get my reverse lights connected. Does anyone here know or have diagrams of the RB25DET box?? -Reverse switch/plug -neutral switch Cheers I did search but came up with nothing

See Joe at JV Automotive (same place where Wheelworks is on South Rd, Joe owns both), they do good rates on labour to R&R the g'box, forgot who they sent my box to to have the 2nd gear synchro and snapped input shaft replaced replaced, but it was relatively cheap (also put in new clutch at the time)

  20. S15 has 3.69 ratio and the 3x2 bolt halfshaft pattern kind workout what r34 gt-t is yet but suspect 4.08 and probably 5 bolt halfshafts?? in which case would need to swap drive shafts too to suit the halfshaft pattern and don't know if you'd want the 3.69 ratio?
  21. ^^^Offset is distance from centre of rim to the surface/flange of the rim that bolts onto the hub. (sorry can't explain better) So the higher (+'ve offset) figure will mean the rim sits more inside the guard, and for lower or -'ve offsets opposite applies. So a rim width of 8" (200mm), halfway/centre will be 100mm, likewise centre of 9" (225mm) rim will be 112.5mm. Measure the distance (mm) from outside edge of the wheel towards centre (width wise), ie edge of rim to the surface of the rim that will bolt onto the hub, now subtract this distance from either 100mm (for 8" rim) or from 112.5mm (for 9" rim) and this should give you your offset. Alternatively, measuring from the "inside" edge of rim to the same surface as above where hub bolts on, then subtract either 100mm (8" rim) or 112.5mm (9" rim) from that distance and it should be the same value as the first method. Best way I can explain it.
  22. do you know what the ratio is of this diff?? does it have the ABS sensor?? interested in trade for S15 factory helical/torsen LSD??
