Bugatti Finally Does It! 407km/h - Tested
hungry6 replied to GTS_300_Coupe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
10 year delivery date was refering to the bug, sorry for the confusion, but I'm really couldn't care much for the egg, as far as I'm concern, the general motorist have more to benifit from cars like the bug and some of the other concept merc. As these car generate more cutting edge engineering technology, which will then filter down to cars that you me and everyone else drive. As for the egg, don't see much new technology there. Anyway, everyone have there prefered wish car, and neither of these are mine, but I'm more biased toward the technology that they brings doesn't matter where it comes from. Be interesting to see how much an egg resell in a couple of year though. same goes for the zonda. Old tech cashing in on "supercar" performance. But an Enzo is a totally different animal, which I have much respect for. -
LOL, It's good to see the stupid thing gives someone else headache also. I still can't comes to term that Apexi still and wont release english version of the manual, until the yank screams and yell.

Wait and see. AFAIK, I would be supprised, if the egg gets off the ground. So far the word in Europe, is that there have been lots of claims and a one of speed runs and tractability has yet to be verify/power figures are in the same basket. For a one off , yes it could do all those thing, but getting to a cuctomer deliverable car is a new ball game together, and the only way to get there is that you have lots of racing experience and money, both which the egg lack. Anyway time will tell, I was supprise to see VAG pushed ahead with the bug, and I'm still umm and arrring on delivery dates. It's all fine to take order, it's no good as a customer if they deliver it 10 years later. -
Turbo fails in workshops are normally related to missing screws/washers, and when they do die on the dyno, it sound like a bloody fire engine, It's screams and carry on, cause by unbalance air distribution around the compressor, There is no way you cannot mistaken a turbo compressor failure, unless you never heard one before.

How wide are they? and what off set?

With the 800cc twin spray, they fit very well, but you have to change the plugs supplied. 20 mins jobie

Is it me, or am I not seeing everything there, where is the diaphram?
-
Well I spent the whole of Saturday and half of today ripping appart my brake system and changing the stock disc over to DBA 4000 series one. Well I really can't say if it was all from the disc, but the brakes now feels really good, almost as good or better than my old carrera 4. Really!! What I did was, as said before new disc all round, replace all the hose with nismo braided item. Pulled appart the master cylinder and bore it out an extra 1mm, also at the same time replace the reaction diaphram with a faster one. As to me the skyline brake reaction has always been abit slow, well to me anyway. So the whole excercise cost me $1200 with new pads/disc and a whole host of other things and 1 and a 1/2 day.(also a master cyl. brace) So how did it feels and drive, well it has an instantaneous feel, also gone, is the spongyness of the old system, and it is very linear and progressive. on a hard brake, with semi slicks tyre, the car is trying very hard to pop you out of the seat with the seat belt on. Funny thing is initially I thought the nissan 4 spot were abit poxy, but I'm having new respect for what they can do with the right support.

Hondas ones are infrared/heat sensitive, ie. all monotoned and green in looks. But yeah, these would be good for coppers also, as he can cruise around and knows who's been canning their cars, and they days of hidding in the dark are over, lol. not that I encourage doing a runner.haha.

I have seen a DVD of the Bug, courtesy of Audi Bris. on this car and althought I'm not a fan of it, but honestly, comparing the bug and the koenigseggCCR is like comparing a go-kart to an F1 car, Really the technology in the bugs is beyond me and many other imaginations. although conceptually a street car, but it would leave most super exotic lay in it wakes on the track. There is a video of a k.CCR doing the round of hockemhein, going by the time a Z tune GTR would whip it up like a little school kid. -
Which Diff Would Suit Me Better?
hungry6 posted a topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ok as title suggested, my r33gtst is starting to morph, into a dedicated track car, but I would like to drive it on the street every now and then, as I already have another street car. The problem is,I'm looking at cusco diff, and which one would suit me better The 1 or 1.5 or 2 way? -
Bit hard to fix it when you got a hole about the size of a twenty cent piece, in the side of your block. just my 20cent worth.
-
I would like a big Mac, in black, only problem is that, it's appreciating in price, faster than I can save.

I'm putting $50 on the EBC being out of setting

Best thing for paint work, that got egg, to stop it dead in it tracks is apply wd40 to the affected area, as this slows down the oxidisation of the paint by choking it of oxygen and allowing time for you to cut polish or kick it in, well what ever float your boat at the time, LOL. Alot of ppls don't understand how frustated owners can get after being egged, and I know sometime I get all work up and do some dumb shit but I never regret kicking the crap out of the little f**ker.haha.
-
jwah, when reading magazine quoting power figures, take it with a grain of salt, also the other question, you also have to ask, is how long it's gonna last at those figures, any car can make larger than normal figure, but it's useless, if you have to rebuild the motor every other week end.
-
I dunno about soft 4x4 getting dump due to a price hike, maybe to a certain extent, but alot of ppls buy them supposedly on that "higher saftey ground" which is a total bullshit myth, lol. As for the reason others buy soft 4x4 is that frequent beach work is more suite for them than the true 4x4, on the fraser coast we have a 10 lanes highway made of sand and a soft 4x4 would be ideal, not a behemoth of the past. Well that where mine will be stationed anyway.

liber8d , check to see if you got a decent dint in your exhaust, or out of setting cams wheels, or incorrectly set EBC.
-
Well, if you are after those sort of numbers, then just get a normal power fc, as I've been down the D jetro road and have hit a few brick walls. btw 600rwhp is achievable (not by me) on a normal PFC with the right AFMs and I've been told by friends from nipponland D jetro on the street suck arse (economy/idle) and I went against their advice Doh!!!!! So back to the plain old pfc.

The ENZO and Porsche GT are dedicated LHD, Also they can be spec without any emission control"exhaust&cat" also they too farking LOUD, and I mean loud as an understatement. The Bug is built to order either LHD or RHD and they cone with full emission and noise control, which does say alot about the car ability to do what it does with all the strings attached, where as the previous 2 are just track cars disguise as street cars. Also on another note, the Bug has a launch/Vmax sequence, where the main key has to be used, and a secondary button to activate it, and what it does is, goes through and check coolant/oil/heat/tyres and then shut down frontal opening & a/c then settles the car down to 50mm, all the guages blackens out and the only one still visible are highlighted. tacho and speedo is all is left of the entire intrument cluster. -
Damn, busted.. HAHA.

Piston Sleeve Or Bore To 87mm On Rb26dett?
hungry6 replied to RTFGTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
So what really happens when you sleeve the bores? For argument sake, that you used some decent sleeve and not just any machined down old steel pipe. -

Try 425mm ceramic/carbon composite at all 4 crns, that should do the trick. Oh I forgot it has verticle flaps that acts as air resistant brakes, from what I found out, they works the treat, but the price is hideous. On another note Brisbane Audi are supposedly to be the distributor for Aust. and when you're in negotiation or ordering, some dude fly out from France to make note/details on your equipement levels after a substantial deposit. For buying the car you get to visit the factory and fitted to your car and trained for in-vehicle use, by the factory. Also there is 1 confirmed order.
