  1. As piggaz stated above. Standard GTR oil pumps are the most fail creation known to mankind
  2. Animal of a car man love it show those v8's who's boss lol
  3. I dare say most of the motors making that power are unopened and have never come out hence running standard oil pumps
  4. As for the XR6 cooler debate its really not a fair comparisson putting a 4L I6 next to a 2.6L I6. The Barra can push out 320rwkw out of 12psi with not too much difficulty. Compare that to the conventional 18 - 20psi to get the same power level out of your typical twin setup RB (purely going by the results I have seen in the RB26 Dyno thread in the past). Interested to see results Anz ! If you get your hands on a well priced hks/greddy/arc unit why not replace the 20 year old Nissan intercooler thats probably seen better days.
  5. As the fellas above me have said ^^ Ps How much Volts are you getting across the battery ?? Also what car is it ? If its a 33GTST or 33/4 GTR try using the contacts on the fuse box instead to jump it worth a shot..
  6. Found this to be true however for me it was the other way around (website was cheaper than phone)
  7. $1800p.a for a R34 GTR - with an excess of $3050 (JustCar)
  8. I am aware - however if i purchase a vs2 bonnet it will be genuine and being an OEM Nissan item you would sincerely put some trust in knowing it wont fly off at higher speeds unlike a Ztune carbon fiber replica bonnet made by an external manufacturer where often or not looks > functionality and reinforcement and quiet frankly I dont trust the latch with these at high speeds. Ive decided to go ztune w/ bonnet pins though despite my initial discomfort in using pins lol come at me boys in blue
  9. Very nice man ! So much more rewarding when you know you have built the car all by your self and hear the sound of her cranking over for the first time.
  10. Their 19 x 10.5 + 12's mate 275's all round Haha I see plenty of tough lowered 34R's in the Photography thread on a regular basis Chuck it up though its not often you see a 34R going away from the conventional TE's and doing something different lol
  11. Ztune was my preferred option but I got turned off by: A. Genuine part is ridicilously overpriced B. Hard to find (genuine) C. If i was to get a copy I would need bonnet pins to stop the bloody thing flying off at high speeds and collecting my windscreen along the way.. This would take away from the clean look and further more add to point "D" D. Adds at least 50 points to the "Pull me over and defect me" factor . In its own is a huge defect due to being a CF bonnet In saying this I will probably still go down the path and get one lol
  12. Havnt put one up in a while. Still deciding wheather to go VS2 or Ztune style bonnet
  13. Agreed. I would have gone down this path if my driveway allowed my car to be any lower which unfortunately it doesnt. The rear doesnt sit too bad at all its the front that looks abit high. For those with front diffusers they know all too well how hard it is to keep them in perfect condition even at standard height with our sub-par roads and driveways. The skirts and rear pods aid it greatly in making it look better at standard height otherwise it would look like absolute crap imo. Referance pic :
  14. Ive got 19 x 10.5 +12 w/ 275's all round. As alot of the guys have already said the fronts rub on full lock with a standard height Vspec and Ive also removed the weather shields (is this what their called? Basically the skin lining inside the guard that protects the BOV's from mother nature and her wrath). Either way they look tough and perfect R34 GTR combination for the street, 18's are way too small and get swallowed up by the huge R34 guards. Racing different story though..
  15. For a mild setup like the one you have described go for something like a powerfc or nistune keeping the standard look with the AFM's. Both of these are a relatively cheap, easy to use and a crapload of support is offered on them
  16. This ^^^ Imo doesnt really suit a GTR all too well unless its a track only car. S Chassis + Fluro wheels on the other hand
  17. Well thanks to a few posts and pm's of the more helpful blokes on here who don't troll and continue making stupid jokes I will be there because I'm not selling up any time soon. The whole time I was respectful and polite despite getting drilled by a bunch of half wits. Me buy a fast and furious car? Brother I've gone through more cars in the past 2 years than you have in your life, owned a track only car, pulled motors apart. I bet you couldn't even change your own intercooler lol
  18. Stop being a muppet mate if u got a problem with me u can see me at the next cruise and address it to my face otherwise I suggest you stop being a smartass and get the f*ck out of the thread
  19. I wanted a R34 GTR and wouldnt settle for anything less. Wouldnt necessarely call it jumping into things as it was the car I was always going to own and I have had it for almost 2 years now. Things change in 2 years, circumstances in life change. Its not impossible for me to keep it, it would just make my life easier if it was gone. The whole reason I made this thread was to ask for an opinion on available options that would give me the an extra 20-30k in my bank account if i chose to sell the 34 while still having a cheap toy to play with ie 32R/33R/S15 and get some helpful input without your self and your clown mate ta1lor made trying to stir the pot.
  20. Ive already explained in my previous posts but the fact why it doesnt bother me to get rid of her as much is cause I know Il buy another one in the future. I think of her as the first child, you love her to death but being new to parenting you make certain mistakes. When the second child comes along the mistakes you made with the first are ironed out. Parenting / GTR owning 101 haha She is pretty much the only thing to my name. In the process of doing some property development hence could use the extra money. Can get it from other means (bank etc) however this is another one of the many small things contributing to my decision to sell. I am by no means in a rush to sell, I will get her back on the road and enjoy her but Im not ruling out the possibility of sale in the not too distant future
  21. Actually payed a fair bit less for the car, the 80k I was referring to was the overal value the car has cost me to this day due to modification. You fellas forget to realise that when your younger and minus the responbility of kids and a milking wife/fiance/gf - if your earning decent coin its very easy to put aside $400 a week, some weeks more some weeks less. Ive known an electrical apprentice who managed to save 70k in his 4 year venture earning stuff all money for the first 2 years. The R34 GTR was my dream car, i worked hard for it, done what i had to do and made a sh*tload of sacrifices along the way saving up but in the end I did it inb4 more cash/pablo escobar jokes
  22. Cheers for the posts. This is the sort of information I was looking for when making the thread. Evo is definately a high contender if i ever decide to sell up on the GTR. Ofcourse. If i had spent 80k on a GTR after purchase and it wasnt doing 9 second passes I would jump
  23. Thats a good question. Basically the reason motor was forged was that the oil pump let go around the same time I had to finalise all my Vegas trip funds last year. This obv meant motor out job = alot of money. Long story short I cancelled my Vegas holiday, spent a bunch of money at workshop after the motor came out in order to carry out the necessary work (at the same time done other things like sump, camshafts, fuel pump, powerfc as the car was still at the workshop along with a huge a$$ list of other stuff). Knowing my luck at the time certain financial circumstances were changed and I had no time and money to spare to continually add bits and pieces to the car as I went. I ordered the motor back together ASAP as I just wanted the car on the road and couldn't afford to put any more into it at the time. As a result the clutch was completely over looked however the workshop had stated its a Nismo of some sort which made me sleep abit easier for the time being
  24. Cheers bud ! Perhaps the only one in the thread who hasnt given me sh*t and has been constructive haha As soon as clutch gets sorted be in for thread of video doing a 10.xx second pass on a full weighted, street tyred boat we can an R34
  25. RB30 is good but will be no match for when i fit all 5 Caprices with this ! For a grand total of 9000 megawasps !
