  1. 1 bar on the stock turbo's isnt a problem mate
  2. Not sure on the accuracy of those prices. I remember seeing a receipt of purchase from a Sydney yard dated back to 2003 from memory on a 99' R34 Vspec that the owner payed 100 - 110,000 on. In terms of depreciation all cars do eventually hit the downward spiral (unless its a rare model ofc) but 50k for a japanese car thats now 12-13 years old is certainly good resell value !
  3. Car looks absolutely immaculate mate congrats !!! I have one question for you though - what size cooler did you end up going (from the pic it looks relatively thick and like 100mm) and did you need any trimming of the bar to get the cooler to fit on properly ?? Cheers
  4. Why cant they be repaired? I was just under the impression that they are just LED's wired in parallel in which case once you have identified the particular LED's that are out you simple just take them out and solder in the new ones.
  5. There’s just way too many inconsistencies regarding ODO and i assume every Jap import is non-original KM's unless proven otherwise. Overall condition of the car is a way better indication as opposed to an odometer reading that can be so easily tampered with. Even on or own doors - In NSW you are free to change ODO's with no notification or documentation supplied to the RTA to make this change in the KM's on the dash. They "advise" however you keep a record of when it was made and at how many km's in order to notify a future potential buyer... Which for someone dodgy trying to make a quick buck out of a more appealing vehicle I have a slight feeling its something that they will fail to mention
  6. Personally if your going for high 300's go for a 100mm one. Alternatively if you want to buy my OEM R34 GTR cooler shoot me a pm, no chopping or trimming involved just bolt it straight in
  7. that looks heaps good mate ^^ Does anyone know of any custom enclosures with incorporate the standard snorkle ??
  8. For a nice clean example of a R32 GTR 20k does seem like a fair price, in saying that there plenty of them going for the 10 - 15k range too though.. Performance vs. value a R32 GTR is very hard to beat and alot easier to keep legal (or at least give the appearance of it being legal) as you can have a 330awkw+ car with an almost standard looking engine bay ie. no hole cutting to fit a front mount which comes standard from factory, twin low mount turbos well out of sight, factory airbox etc.
  9. I think it looks good and is definately priced at an awesome value for a brand new car. On paper it also seems very well balanced and nimble (with weight distribution being so close to 50-50) but im just not sure weather the 110 odd rwkw will be enough to put a smile on my face..
  10. Mate congratulations on the big day first of all! And all you guys giving him slack its one of the guys biggest days of his life and he wants it to be remembered hence the requiest for a LOUD and POWERFUL GTR. Mate if i had a 32 id gladly rip the 4WD fuse out and light the entire street gutter to gutter for you , unfortunately with a 34 im pretty useless and can only sit there looking pretty reving out of dropped pipes lol..
  11. JustCar Insurance - $2350 p.a with an excess of $2550 for an agreed value of $55,000. The joys of being a young male living in Sydney
  12. It appears that you have bought an apexi pod and adaptor for a GTR (which uses 65mm afm's) as opposed to your 80mm GTS-T unit, hence it wont fit to the adaptor. Try bolt it straight onto the pod as a few of the other guys have said
  13. 10.99 will do
  14. Thought il post one more seeing as the cars undergoing some modifications from next week
  15. God knows what he could have done in the 2 months of owning the motor, as far as your concerned its none of your problem. I would not bother doing anything or worrying about it the slightest
  16. Taken from Gerg_R31's build thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/374496-gerg-r31s-na-rb2630de/ /thread
  17. I recal seeing my friends dyno sheet for his R34 GTR reading out 253awkw with nothing more than a full exhaust and boost (ableit 17psi on ceramics lol). Still standard injectors, fuel pump, ecu, the works - same said car ran a 12.2 down the creek! GL with the same mate, car looks very nice!
  18. anyone ??
  19. ^^ Yep its certainly not cheap mate, there are some guys out there that make mint carbon replica's anyways and look the goods. Only difference is you dont get the w*nk factor when you tell people that you have an "original z-tune bonnet" . If it looks the part and your happy with it why not
  20. $3500 for the factory vs2 bonnet wow these things are worth more than gold these days.. Would you by any chance know what price range your looking at for modifying the original bonnet with the NACA duct ??
  21. Well different kettle of fish my friend, 4000cc motor that is capable of 400kw (lets not mention the 1000nm of torque at 3000rpm lol) at alot less boost pressure than that of our little 2600cc milk crate motors.. In saying that i dont know really know much about XR's but thats the direction that common sense seems to point me towards Now this one i will agree with you on
  22. Nismoid, I wasnt implying you in particular just the general consensus on these boards of alot of members who read something from a complete stranger and take it as the gospel and then recirculate the information as if though they are the all mighty and knowing. The same person who the next week makes a thread on which workshop is best to put on a "cat-back" exhaust for him.. If you look at alot of the guys on here running cheaper coolers handling the bigger amount of power it all comes to one thing that i was talking about earlier - volume. Its just simple physics really, a 100mm thick cooler at power levels north of the 300kw mark and 400kw mark is going to do a better job than a 60 or 70mm one granted they are of the same composition. If you look at my entire angle to this in the first place I never once stated that it wasnt impossible, simply inefficient. Last bit of my build that im waiting on now is my turbos. Once thats in I will do a run with both stock cooler (from a 34 which is supposedly the best in the series) vs a 100mm aftermarket one and we can put numbers and graphs together instead of words
  23. Totally get where your coming from and thats the entire reason why Im sticking with the twins on my 34. Nothing screams "defect me" more than a top mount turbo when the 5-0 pop your bonnet up In saying that im getting more and more inclined by the day to part with the 34 and build a killer R32 - t51r with a stroked rb30 bottom end and probably still have coin left over.. Just financially I know Il be alot worse off when i decide to part my ways from it.. decisions decisions lol
  24. What was your decision for deciding to go -10's as opposed to the big single?? Very impressive build thread btw i had a quick skim through it, will have a closer look when i have a bit more time
