Skyline Auto Trans - Tolerance?
Fly_With_Sky replied to Angry's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
jager so exactly what does this stage 2 shift kit do for auto r33's apart from allowing them to cope with more power?? do they actually shift quicker and the like to the extent that your car actually becomes quicker or is it more concerned with strength? -
Info for GTT Tiptronic owners.
Fly_With_Sky replied to Abo Bob's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
how did they do it abo bob? modified standard ecu for skylines. thought that was impossible as no one worked out how to do it properly or am i thinking of r33 gtst when it comes to chipping the ecu?? SydneyKid, help. if not looks like il be having a chat to powerplay in the not to distant future... -
hey was flipping through the speed mag to see where they got it wrong with the new skyline and saw (to my amazement) that the new 2.5L boxer engine in the new wrx to come out in the next couple years or whenever claims to be able to acclelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds and 0-160km/h in 10.4 seconds. CMON NOW, REALLLY!!! who are they taking on the ferrari enzo and mclaren F1. Now the they say the enzo goes from 0-100 in like 3.3 or 3.6 seconds or something and its powered by a bloody formula 1 stlye engine. So are subaru trying to say that with 0.5L more capacity, another 150nm of torgue or something that the thing can accelerate that fast??? I still think its :bs!: as i cant believe it until i see it i guess. AND who was driving it to get a claimed time like those? PLUS wat time will nissan claim with the new gtr as their new engine is like factory 470hp with 568nm of torque and wateva else, will it do 3second flat 0-100. CMON now really... Tell me if there is any truth to this subaru claim and feel free to point out any errors i have made as i would like to hear any feedback from u guys
-
Yes i agree but looking at the maxima and 350z, pulsar nissan are really making their cars more smooth and round looking rather than having the sharper lines such as the r34. But yeh i also hope that the new skyline will have great looks to match all that performance and technology :boinkcar:
-
yeh since mine is black everything stands out so much like finger prints dirt, yeh the back of the car does get damn dirty quick hey... Also what is annoying is when u spends all the time washing it then the next morning u see that all this dust has settled on it, ah well...at least when u actually do finish washing u feel good when you look at your baby.

Qns on the Silvia S15 / 200 SX
Fly_With_Sky replied to mcdare's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i think he forgot to put a fullstop or comma in his sentence eg: "im thinkin of gettin a s15 silvia, also known as the 200SX, in QLD early next year" sww now its makin more sense -
i still thinks the next skyline needs round rear stove top like tail lights dammit, but ah well it aint like anyone will be complaining as its got just about everything else, amazing technology is going into it by the sounds of things, cant wait

Questions - My dyno results ok? How to improve?
Fly_With_Sky replied to Bill's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
is the std ecu boost cut for a gtst 10psi??? i thought it was 12psi? is there are difference between s1 and s2 r33 gtst and r34 gtt for that matter as s2 gtst and r34 gtt have those plastic impeller baldes and what not which ppl say that cant be boosted as much as the ceramic one even though it is ulitmately the same almost... anyway i got s1 r33 and thought the boost cut was at 12psi, thats all.... -
well jake32 to put it simply, thats just sucks Many people here cant see past their own noses when it comes to a well engineered car with good electrics and a great engine, handling, the whole package and thats talking about the gtst, dont let me start with the GTR. Oh and about whether one would pay 110k for a gtr or a boxster (assuming say they were sold in the same time frame and all that brand new) i would definiately take the GTR i mean cmon it has the best engine ever made enough goodies to power a space station (no disrespect to porsche as they do make great cars) but the skyline gtr is the ultimate road car imo, and if u want it to be can be a great track car as well my 2cents

i thought they just had a v8 twin turbo as a possible option and were sticking with the 6cyl 3.5 or 3.2 litre twin turbo???
-
oh dont pay any attention to the big smiling face as it was an accident and shouldnt be there as i am confused and need some guiding wisdom from you guys...

hey fellas. I am interested in any feedback people may have regarding this decision of mine. I am unsure of whether to buy a greedy v-spl intercooler or a hybrid intercooler. Now my car is currently stock except for full exhuast and air filter. Plus i wont really really be pushing the car past the 200rwkw or aroundabouts in the future when i do a couple mods after the i get the cooler. the car will alsoi be boosted and dyno'ed and all... Now my mechanic says there are the japanese coolers, custom made coolers, and stinkers and i guess he referred the hybrid cooler in the stinker category. however, from searches i have found that many people have no problems with the hybrid cooler except for the recent thread saying the chrome piping bubbles. I am really unsure which to buy, and then there are arguments of jap brand coolers are made for jap cars so they know what they are doing, and then there is the hybrids do the job just as well and the money saved can be spent for other purposes whether it be other mods or watever... any feedback would be greatly appreciated, cheers. oh, also, im a student with a part time job so money doesnt grow on trees for me

Learner driver in skyline doing 205km/h?!?!
Fly_With_Sky replied to Amaru's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
okay well its is apparent that we cannot rely on the media for any real and correct info as every channel believes it is a different car. The only thing is certain is that it was beyond stupid, penalty was ridiculosly beyond stupid and thank god no one was hurt. i guess we can only hope that justice will be served when this girls is allowed behind a wheel again that she fails every attempt at going for her p's, and, that people are aware thta she likes to take cars off on her own so they should watch their keys when around her. Tony. -
mine is still on there and its looks fine to me, and my uncle is a panel beater and has not said that my car has any repsrays or anything when he put was buffing out some scrathces and painting my bodykit and stuff. Besides, i would like to keep the GTS25T sticker on there, and not be like people who take it off and throw gtr badges front and rear... (no ill feelings towards people who take them off and keep it plain though)

Anyone bought parts from Nengun?
Fly_With_Sky replied to someonestolecc's topic in General Automotive Discussion
um just curious myself as i am ready to order a blitz boost controller from nengun (and i have only heard postive response after another) however this question is not to question the validity nengun but rather to find out what 'extras do you pay' ie taxes, apart from the cost of the product and the shipping?? I am also unsure whether to get a hybrid cooler, or a greedy vspl from nengun as well. My car will probably not see anything more than 200rwkw so i was thinking have considered the hybrid, but im not sure.... sorry to hijack this thread a little with my own question, its still relevant to a degree -
Learner driver in skyline doing 205km/h?!?!
Fly_With_Sky replied to Amaru's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
sorry by writing imports in my quotation, it was meant to read "bloody people and their skylines, lets get em" -
Learner driver in skyline doing 205km/h?!?!
Fly_With_Sky replied to Amaru's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
ok im confused was it a r32 gtr or a 300zx?? hopefully it was a zed and not a skyline so ppl dont go "bloody people and their imports, lets get em" if thats how non import drivers ands cops think.... anyway, thank god no one was hurt, and dont people say thats women are meant to be smarter... -
Hybrid intercooler kit Chrome plating coming off pipes
Fly_With_Sky replied to a topic in General Automotive Discussion
yes i have heard and im sure many others are aware that people say that chrome piping will flake due to the heat so i guess theres not really much you can do to stop it from flaking -
um has anyone considered that the driver plays a factor in this argument. Now i am a HUGE skyline fan and would defend them to the death and i believe that the line is such a better car even if it is so much older than a 03 rex. It has so much more potential and looks great and goes fast enough for a stocker imo. Also lines do not have the inherent gearbox probs and wateva driveline probs that a rex does. Having said that the rex is pretty fast when they get going and i dont really mind them but the line is close to my heart and when i was in a rex then hopped back in the skyline, for me there is no comparison (except for a gtr or italian exotics).

R33 GTS-t Cold Air Box Template
Fly_With_Sky replied to Jay95R33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
um guys i was just wondering what kind of difference does it the cold air box make to the induction (sucking) sound?? at the moment with just my k&n pod it really sucks loudly, just wondering wat kind of difference the box will make to this sound as i am in the process of putting a box together... -
get a custom job, mine works like a dream, it really purrs and is a loud exhaust at all. get something like a 4inch dump into a 3.5inch pipe then shortening into a 3inch (or can u get 3.5inch cats???) high flow cat then 3.5inch pipe all the rest of the way just my suggestion anyway...
