Dude what the f**k? Sydney buyer preferred? This is the South Australia section!! Same to the above clown who posted his car for sale in Perth.

Yeah those HKS pods are loud. My car sounds like it has a BOV but it's just got the stock bypass with an HKS pod. The Mrs got pulled over a while back because the copper "heard the BOV go off". He had a look under the bonnet and conceeded that all was ok.

I've had Nankangs on my last two Skylines. They're what I would call "good value" tyres, sure they're not the best tyres in the world but bang for buck they are bloody good. I'd prefer to pay $200 a corner then $400 a corner for at the most 5% better performance. Regarding wet performance. The Nankang NSII's that I have now seems MUCH better in the wet then the ones I had 3 years ago. Mabey they've made some changes, because they used to be very average in the wet but now they seem fine?

The fact of the matter is that if it had not been for the popularity of grey import skylines, Nissan Australia wouldn't be enjoying the response that the GTR is getting. So the attitude that this bloke is giving towards grey imports is a joke! It's their own bloody fault for being stupid and not selling Skylines locally for the last decade and a half.

30g? You mean 20g?

The whistling noise may well be the turbo scraping the side of the housing. This happened on my old car.

Hks Gt-rs Turbo Analysis For Rb-25 Engine
Ionos replied to Turbz RB-25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Perfect example of what SK is saying - aftermarket cams. Bigger cams increase airflow by allowing the engine to breath better, therefore for the same or even less boost you make more power. If you're still not sure, think about blowing air through a straw, then blowing air through a short piece of garden hose. You wont have to work anywhere near as hard to blow air through the garden hose, yet you'll be blowing more air through it because it has less restrictions. In the case of the straw, you're probably applying a few PSI worth of pressure yet you'll be moving less air because of the restriction. All that said, for a standard setup (unopened engine, no cams) measuring PSI vs HP for a given turbo can still be fairly useful as an indication of what power to expect, assuming basic mods (intercooler, 3" exhaust). -
I know it's not the sort of thing a lot of people want to hear, but you folks who keep your Skylines on the street or driveway are frickin' crazy! I had my first Skyline stolen after 4 months of beign parked on teh driveway, and 2 breakins during that time. After that, I swore I would never have another nice car unless it was gargaged every single night. This mean 3 years of patiently waiting before getting another one (as I couldn't garage it in that house) but that's better then the worry of leaving it outside every night and the heartache when someone violated my pride and joy.

I'd be very surprised if they still have them in stock at that price, most likely they haven't updated their website as these are going for $1500 second hand. If they say they do have them, be very careful that it's not a scam.
-
My recommendation? Ring around a few wreckers and see if you can find a Nismo 3" exhaust. They're great, nice and quiet when cruising, and a bit of a roar when flat out but still not too loud to attract unwanted attention. I picked one up second hand for $250.

Hi mate - does it sound a bit like a rally car? Sort of brup brup brup brup really fast? If so, it's your spark breaking down, get new plugs and gap to 0.8 and tape/epoxy your coil packs (instructions in general maintenance forum). If that doesn't fix it, you might need to go for split fire coils. As also mentioned, if it is more like a total cut out it could be fuel delivery. Are you running the standard pump? Also, you shouldn't really be reving the engine to 8500, that's too high for the stock motor unless it has been re-built and balanced for high revs.

Also have had good experiences with Morpowa, and specifically Simon. Recommended.

I've finished my install with 6" fronts and 6x9 rears, but sadly the 6x9's just don't have enough bass. I'd like to add a 12" sub for a budget. I found this pack on ebay - opinions? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/PIONNER-CAR-AMP-AMP...18313QQihZ019QQ Current system is - Pioneer deck Clarion 6" fronts (not sure of model, but they're good ones) Jaycar Kevlar 6x9 rears JBL 60w x 4 amp

Making R33 Fibreglass Sub Box, Anyone Interested?
Ionos replied to loftyfang's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Mike - so from what you're saying, these Jaycar subs would run alright then? http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...=&SUBCATID= I was always anti-sub because I didn't want to lose my boot space, but this method looks good. I might make a project out of this and try to do the same thing. -
It's the BOV. You can't "tune" for atmo BOV properly unless you get rid of your air flow meter. EDIT: Whoops realised you've already solved it.
-
I run a Nismo 3" exhaust with twin mufflers. It's very quite, almost as quiet as stock. Not really that loud on WOT either, a nice roar but not ear splitting. I'm putting down 240rwkw.
-
Not me but the previous owner of the car had taken it there before.
-
$200. I figured that was fairly reasonable. Needed about 1.5 hours of Dyno time.
-
Just an update - I ended up going to Morpowa, glad I did as they sorted me out nicely. It definately needed a tune, cruising was fine so no problems with the O2 sensor, but the AFR's were for some reasons in the low 10's. We weren't quite sure why, as the car hadn't really changed since the last tune apart from a different catback Exhaust (still 3"). Regained 20rwkw with the new tune and hopefully this will fix the fuel economy issues.
-
The hand controller is not necessary, but to tune it by laptop you need an adaptor plus the software which is about $500. However, you can take it to a tuner without a hand controller and they will be able to tune it for you without any problems.

R33 - 3" Jap Brand (rs*r) Cat Back Only $150!
Ionos replied to Ionos's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Bump. $150 3" Jap Brand Exhaust. -
Thanks for the suggestions all. I think the O2 sensor is ok, because I can see it going up and down between 0.2v and 0.8v on the powerFC handle controller, which is supposedly what it should be doing under normal operation.
-
I've got a tuned powerFC but the car is running rich. I'm getting poor mileage, even when I drive like a granny, normally 300km to a full tank. Car is an R33, mods are - PowerFC, AVCR set on 1.1 bar, HKS GT2535 and 550cc injectors. Question is - with a tuned powerFC, to get it 'tuned up' is it basically a full re-tune, or would it just be a simple task to check the AFR's and make the necessary adjustments. In otherwords, am I looking at $100 or $500? Looking at getting it done a Morpowa, as I'm up north and that is where the car was tuned previously (before I bought it).

Likely Hood Of Blocked Cat? {update With Pics!}
Ionos replied to tek_01's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I think the Catco cats with stainless mesh are fine, "Metal cat" is a different brand and supposedly they've had some problems. -
3" RS*R exhaust only $150! Bargain, price is firm. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...sr-t190058.html Also after a Greddy 60mm A piller POD and White R33 passenger door.
