  1. Yep it's complete double standards. But then, look at all the rusty buckets of shit going around, blowing loads of smoke, and the cops don't look twice.
  2. Did you buy that from a bloke up in Golden Grove? I looked at that car when I was buying mine, it looks nice and clean. I reckon you'd need a hammer, chisel and a few hours work to get all that out. It's the MDF and fiberglass that weights a lot.
  3. You fail at the internetz. www.dba.com.au Or, the first result you get when you put "DBA" into google. Do you need to be spoon fed also?
  4. Afraid so, it's always been that way. Driving a defective vehicle is a traffic offence.
  5. Rory Thompson Services (08) 8258 0796 or 0414 948 028 Unit 2, 84 Rundle Rd, Salisbury South, 5106, SA Haven't used him but heard it's around the $200 mark.
  6. Bad luck. I've always said to myself that if I do ever end up going to regency, my car will go back to stock and stay that way. Best thing to do is keep your car as stock looking as possible. You don't need a blow off value and a zillion gauges to go have a nice and fast car. Clean, hidden mods is the answer. Obligitory naughty naughty for driving on bald tyres. It amazes me when people spend loads of money on their car but wear their tyres down to the steel belts before replacing them.
  7. Could you elaborate as to why? I mean, what would make an ARE intercooler better then this one? Presumably they're a fairly standard design?
  8. OK - update. I'm now getting serious about this, ditched the stock intercooler idea. I've found one on ebay which is a very good price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/UNIVERSAL-T...sspagenameZWDVW Now, I need some solid opinions on whether this will be capable of supporting an RB25DET with a HKS GT2535 at 18psi. That setup makes about 400HP, the intercooler supposedly supports 600HP but will such a small core (4.5" x 4.5" x 10") really be ok with this setup? I'm worried that there just wont be enough surface area in the core to cool the air effectively even if I keep the core nice and cool with a large radiator. Thoughts?
  9. Trying to work out if my O2 sensor needs replacing. I get average economy (16l/100kms) but I do drive frequent short trips and am running about 240rwkw. When I check my sensor in the PFC menu it cycles all the way between 0.1V and 0.9v about once per second. Can anyone who has recently replaced their O2 sensor confirmat that this is normal? I understand that it should cycle, but all the way from 0.1 to 0.9 and back again? I thought it was only meant to cycle between about 0.4 and 0.6 V. Cheers.
  10. Great, thanks mate. I ended up covering the boot lid and a little of the sides as well. My amp is currently dead so saving the rest until I can replace it, then put it where needed to eliminate any rattles.
  11. Realistically you'd be looking at around 15k again. I purchased mine for 15k almost a year ago, and it has probably about 3/4 of the mods yours has, and is making more power (HKS turbo). If you still have all the stock parts, you'll get far more money back returning it to stock and selling the aftermarket parts individually.
  12. So let me guess 02_FNE - you're involved in Amway. "Save money on the products you buy and use everyday" - that's the typical marketing bullshit that people who are involved in Amway sprout. The fact is, people who get involved in this shit turn out to the the most annoying friends/family members you can have because that are constantly hawking their rubbish products to you, and trying to get you to come along to a "Free seminar". If you get rich off Amway you are scum - because being scum is the only way you can get rich with their methods.
  13. There is a little bit more to it then that. Amway is a multi level marketing business. What that means is that in theory, you become a distributor for Amway products which you then onsell and make a profit. In reality, money is made through Amway by signing people up to become new distributors. Of course, you can't charge a signing fee or receive commission for this because that is illegal (classed as a pyramid scheme). Amway get's around this legal issue by selling training packs, startup kits and other things which they convince you that you HAVE to buy in order to make money. Of course, they charge exorbinant prices for all of this start up gear. It is possible to make money from Amway, but you need to put in a lot of time and basically you end up trying to sell shit to all your family and friends that they don't really want, and trying to sign them up for the same shit. Hence the thread by the OP - sign more people up, get more money. You can't make money doing it in your spare time despite what anyone tells you. The only people who can make money off this are slimey, unethical, smooth talking types who can sucker other people into believing that it is a "great business opportunity". It is a pyramid scheme that is carefully worked to be legal. OP - get the f**k out as fast as you can. Don't give these "business men and women" any money, tell them to f**k off and die. I seriously hope that you are just naive and don't understand what you are getting into, rather then trying to sucker people into this forum.
  14. Hmm business opportunity, vague on details, face to face meetings, make money in your spare time. Why is my AMWAY detector going beserk?
  15. Need to vent - just got my system working beautifully and my JBL amp has died. Wasn't driving it particularly loud, stop the car, when I started it again it fired up then suddenly started cracking and popping. I turned it off and on again with no success, then went to smell the amp and sure enough, fried electronics. Good news is that it's under warranty, bad news is that it is going to take around 10 days for it to be replaced. I just hope that I haven't done any damage to the speakers/sub, and that I don't have any problems with JBL claiming I was overdriving the amp or other such rubbish.
  16. Well someone better hurry up and snap up that last box. They're worth every cent, you wont be disappointed with it.
  17. This mob have lots of differnet models, including ones that go both ways although I would have though you could mount the ebay one vertically somewhere... http://www.frozenboost.com/ Shipping to Aus is about $90US
  18. No worries. I looked at these. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BIG-Liquid-...sspagenameZWD2V They look good, but is the core sufficient to cool the amount of airflow going through it at 16psi, 6000-7000 RPM?
  19. After reading this topic and doing a bit of research on the matter, i'm considering an attempt to convert the stock intercooler into a water-to-air unit. The general plan is to weld an aluminium jacket around the cooler, and pump water around the intercooler then through a radiator in place of my current front mount air-air intercooler. Has anyone attempted this? What kind of flow rate could I get out of the stock cooler, enough to flow 16psi at 7000rpm?
  20. Under powering wont do any damage. Damage can only be caused if you try to drive the head unit too far and it starts clipping. Basically if it starts to sound like shit and distorted, you're pushing them too hard and back it up a bit.
  21. Saw a Silver 33 picking up drinkies at the Mawson Lakes Bottlo. If you're on here, I was in the White 33.
  22. Got mine, it's awesome! Thanks Loftyfang. Installed already. Only problem I had was that the hole was not big enough for my sub, I had to route it out about another 5mm all the way around. I was using a Rockford Fosgate P1 12"
  23. I've got about 3 big sheets of dynamat to go in the boot for my Sub install, and want to know where to stick it for the best effect. I've already done the parcel shelf, so I'm thinking - boot lid, back (under parcel shelf) and any left over will go on the floor, plus i'll save a bit for any other rattles that pop up. Any other suggestions?
  24. Great tutorial, going to do this on the weekend. Can anyone provide the various torque settings for all the bolts?
  25. The vacuum reading is normal, there is a vacuum because the throttle is closed. Not an expert on oils, perhaps someone who is can clarify whether that oil is ok. It is a lot thicker then what most use however. Agree with the rest of your suggested steps, do those things then take it from there.
