  1. + my crap as horizontal fuses
  2. Thanks a whole lot for this guys. I found out today that my right rear light was out. So I took out my coin box but oddly enough the japanese was printed horizontally, whereas on that picture its verticle. So to find the fuse I had to compare its japanese to the japanese on the above coinbox but finally found the right fuse and now the new project is taking the rear lights off. I took out some screws and the result is a wobbly tail light. I think if I pull it out, it might break something (heard a straining sound) so off the stagea is tomorrow to the auto electrician. Thanks for all the help guys I really appreciate it. And a sketchy camera phone pic for anybody thats interested.
  3. You wouldn't happen to live in Perth would you? My sisters car got its rear and side windows smashed, and the night before the garage which my stagea is in got a rock thrown at it. Also a car up the road got its rear windscreen smashed. Just kids though, they always go running. I just wish I could find them... if only google earth was real time
  4. Hope I can pick up the wreckage for like 10 bucks..
  5. Hah, that was pretty funny. Like "oh I'm loosing.. is this where I push down the accelerator?" *facepalm*
  6. I think if looks awesome! .. just kidding, it looks like a cheap transformer from target. Too 'plasticy' and reminds me of a prius

    Apexi Pod Size?

Thanks a lot for your help guys. I went to Jshop today (Welshpool, Perth) and got an Apexi 150mm pod for $95, and got it installed for $50 (removing box, mounting bracket throwing on the pod). So it went pretty well. Induction sound is pretty nice Now I want to rev the stagea harder around ever corner to hear it Thanks again -Dervish

    Apexi Pod Size?

Hey guys, I'm extremely sorry for the nub question. I was wondering which model name of Apexi pod filter would I need to fit into my stag. (series 2) Currently the engine bay is stock as a rock and nothing has been done to the induction system. I looked around on the forums and found the air flow meter was similar to a commodores, but that didn't give me much help in determining which pod filter I needed. Thanks a lot in advance guys -Dervish
  9. I really wouldn't get Vista at this point. I've been using Vista at uni and reading a review here and there. If you have a new system with no OS on it, that would pretty much be the only reason to get vista. It was designed to never need a service pack. Funnily enough there's already SP1 out for Vista. It isn't extremely buggy, but it has a fair few bugs on it currently. I would wait until the initial speed hump is over with and enough time is put into Vista before buying it. Good indication would be when the price goes down Oh and yes, it does look pretty. Makes XP look a little bland. Though it does look a whole lot like the latest Mac OSX. Got to say one feature I love about vista, is that you have so many little widgets and tweaks for it.

    Guess What

Hey guys thankyou to everybody for the positive feedback Also want to give a thankyou to the people who've pm'd me over the past few weeks/months telling me what's the go. It was greatly appreciated and without it I wouldn't have had such a great end result. About the mods on the car.. all that I was given was a sheet with afew features but it wasn't fully comprehensive I'm sure. So I have no idea what exactly has been tweaked. All around it looks extremely clean so I would say not too much. Also just for maintanence and well being of this stagea I was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers for example - The oil, what you use to clean it (in and out), just the best products available since I know alot of you guys have tried pretty much everything Furthermore I was wondering whether I needed a turbo timer for the health of the turbo. I was just waiting for the 'welcome to your new addiction' phrase to pop up. I got one... YAY! Thanks again for all the positive feedback guys, much appreciated -Dervish

    Guess What

Hey guys, over the past few months I've been asking advice on should I get this stagea or another and showed my options. I'm happy to say I've purchased one, and I picked it up today 2000 series 2 with oodles of extras such as leather interior, power seats, dual sunroofs, and a feature I didn't know stageas had.. tilting back seats. I saw the vehicle over the internet and bought it blind just from pictures, and what the dealer had to say. Today it arrived here in Perth and I could not be happier with the result. The cars condition is absolutely flawless and runs beautifully. The only negative things I can say about it is that the deck doesn't open when I press the cd eject button.. (mechanism which slides the face up/down is clogged so I need to pull it out a little to give it a headstart) and also the car doesn't have an immobilizer (small things count ) other than that the car is absolutely beautiful. And for those fussy about the price - the car was $23,500 + $1100 transport with TNT. The car was a fresh import from japan that I bought from a garage in Queensland. Also there are 55,000 km on the clock and I know you guys will say not real, but damn the car looks and feels brand new, so call me crazy but they just might be. Enough talking... PICS! Disclaimer - buying blind is extremely risky and will not pay off for everyone so please avoid flaming me for doing so. Worked out for me Enjoy -Dervish
  12. hey man, its definately your video card. I bought a 6600GT almost a year ago and it came up with graphic glitches similar to that, which ultimately filled up the whole screen with time. I tried about 5-6 different types of drivers and no dice. Only option was to replace the graphics card which I did and who would have thought it worked. I Currently I have a 7900GT and it works a treat. I'm not sure which models are 'glitch free' but at this time I'd definitely stick to Nvidia. You can always try the official WoW forums, I'm sure there's a pissload of geeks that will willingly give you a list. -Derv
  13. Ok guys thankyou very much for the imput, First of all - I'm sure Appealing was just expressing his opinion and saying - Importing is the best way, but if you can't that's fine. if you can here's what to do. We shouldn't all go up in arms if he's only expressing himself towards the one avenue. To everyone else, thankyou very much, esp on the technical side eg. make sure the timing belt has been replaced and where to check for rust. I'm sure if I do indeed go to make this purchase I'd inspect the car more thoroughly, all I've done so far is drive it and it went really well. Most people have also expressed concern about the km's, so I'll ask for a price down, or I'll go elsewhere. Again like I said, I need to inspect the vehicle more thoroughly for wear and tear. I will check other garages around and if I don't find any others I'll have to bargain down the price. I am going to trade in my current car (93 WRC edition celica) which AutoWholesale would give about 7500 for which isn't too bad. If anyone has anything more to say I'm more than happy to listen, but if there is more said, let's try to bring this thread back on the road. (excuse the pun) And btw guys, Merry Xmas, hope you guys have a great time with your loved ones
  14. Hey John, I'm not sure if you've clicked on the link, but the link has pics, km's of car, price. Import Place is - Autowholesale and I'm in Perth WA Thanks =)
  15. Hey guys I've been looking at stagea's for a while and wanted to go halves with my parents to get one. They would use it for a work car now and then and I'd use it as my daily driver. I'm looking at series 2's since I need to compromise with my parents (My parents only drive auto's and I drive a manual), therefore tiptronic would be the best option. I went to an import garage today, and browsed a few stageas, I test drove a series 2 and it really went. I could really hear the turbo spool (exciting ). Closest thing I could compare it to is a 2006 sport wrx wagon. Well since my parents say they need it to be in WA (need to test drive it, inspect etc.) and they don't trust anything on the net, I was wondering if you guys would put the thumbs up or down to the price on this one. The car I drove today and am looking at is: here One thing I didn't understand... is I asked the salesman if both S1 and S2 feel the same when you drive them. He said when he drove them the power is identical, I then said really.. even with the 40 odd kw difference, then he replied oh they 'feel the same'.... I then thought maybe, if so the S2 would only excell when really putting your foot down. Positives of this particular stag: Nice kit Feels great driving it Nice little extra sub in the back Saw a small camera just under rear wing Series 2 Interior pristine condition. Negatives - Few small scratches/smudges on the body. Custom grill sticks out a little and eyelids look a little tacky in person. Moderate km's. Lcd screen on inside is in japanese with a japanese remote and book >< I was also wondering guys, when I looked at the engine, the inside of the hood, the foam... protection was a little worn, which looks like to be from the engine heat.. is this normal? Sorry about this post being all over the place guys, just wanted to write all I could remember while it was still fresh. Thanks in advance guys -Dervish
  16. Get a manual unless your stuck in peak hour traffic all the time. In that case, for the love of god hit the tiptronic.
  17. How about, we all go and have lunch right, I switch the keys when you take your wife to the bathroom. You'll never know the difference
  18. I really like both, well done man
  19. Here's last years thread, just an idea of how it was, and how it was organised, and the crazy guys that were involved
  20. haha thats awesome, beats our.. horseback riders.. for sydney..
  21. Thanks Adam, any imput is appreciated
  22. Anyone who's been reading the forums for the past 2-3 years you would be pretty familiar with this... That time of the year has come again to organise transport to the ball A friend of mine (account name Elithrar) has organised it the past two years, but since he isn't coming this year, I thought I would give it a shot I was just wandering if anyone would be interested, I don't have the final details as of yet, but the ball is held somewhere in kings park, and is going to be Friday the 3rd of March, starting at 7:30PM. I know a little under a month might not be enough run up for some of you busy guys, but might aswell give it a try Still at the moment the numbers aren't certain, but we might need 4-5 cars, (preferably 4 doors) but 2 doors are fine for the mavericks. (Last year had 2, 4 door 32's, 4 door 33, Pauls Sileighty [he hooked me up ] and one hell of a lancer.) For payment, I'm not sure what we payed before, but it would be better to name your price. (Usually a tank of fuel or something ) Well thats just an idea, in a little under a month, if there's no volunteers we could get limo's, but that's not how I do it , need to be unique. -Dervish Edit: Put in proper date
  23. Haha, I would have, but insurance would be through the roof.. turbo + 17 yr old = 2k a year... This is the car is going to be the car I learn how to drive well in, and maybe 6 months - a year down the track I'll get my beast..
  24. Hey guys, its been a while, but 2-3 months ago I asked for your advice whether to buy a cheap car or expensive, (most advised cheap), and then which is the best of the cheap cars. I can say, today I got my 1st car. The car is... well not that cheap, not that expensive. A 1993 Toyota Celica WRC edition. Which is essentially a 93' Celica with stock "bucket seats", and I'm not sure what else comes with it I bought it with 111k km's on the clock, and it belonged to a middle aged woman. It shows, the car is in absolutely pristine condition. In and out. Here's afew pics from the outside, I apologise for the camera work, it's my phone. And btw, for all of you interested on price, I payed 8k. Now that I've got a car, anyone got any tips on keeping it the way it is?
