  1. Roy I would love to attend Winton, I will speak to Ferni and see what I can organize. I must admit I was a little shocked to hear a speed of 337kph. The fastest I have ever gone is about 270~280kph, I believe this is the limit set by the gearbox. If you really can do 337kph then I stand corrected, you would smoke me. Not that I ever doubted you would, I just though taking on GTR’s with such a lack of respect showed very little experience. I know bens car gets up around 300kph on some tracks but he has over 500rwkws!!!
  2. I’m not even going to bother with you, there is no chance I will ever race you so its all just talk. If you really think you have something to prove come down our way, I am sure you will own Ben’s GTR with ease. There is about as much point in comparing our cars as there is yours to a well modified GTR!
  3. I am not surprised by the trap time, I have always found family cars (Holden’s & Ford’s) to die in the arse after about 110~120. Of course this is a modified XR6T, but I imagine in a drag he would give me a good run to 100 if not be a bit quicker. But after that I would feel confident that I could stick with him even though I have less power.
  4. Yeah I agree, start with the little GTSt’s and see how you go, then take on the GTR’s. Honestly the XR6 vs. GTSt battle is more evenly matched as they have more similarities when compared to the GTR. For track use the GTR is a far superior car on paper, and I am sure this transfers to real-world application
  5. The cars handling must be greatly improved because if its not 300+rwkw’s is just going to make you slower around a race track!
  6. Do you live near Berwick? Emerald rd in Upper Beaconsifled is a nice little run that I would be more than happy to school you on
  7. I am putting my hand up for that challenge!
  8. Weight A good mate of mine works at Holden, he also does quite a bit of work on my old R33 and he really knows his stuff. Anyway, he recons there is so much Holden needs to do before there cars are even as advanced as my old R33. I cannot quote exactly what he was talking about but a lot of it was engine refinement and suspension setup.
  9. They are all good points but we are still wasting our time comparing apples to oranges. Because the R34 GTR has no warranty and insurance is expensive, does that make it slower? Less of a performance car? NO! If I had my choice of a GTR Z Tune or an F6 Typhoon it’s obvious which one I would choose, but then I would take a plain old R34 GTR over the F6 Typhoon. Its personal preference and I do believe the GTR is a superior vehicle. You are either in the market for a new car or a super fast car, if you want both you will have to step up to something a little more expensive. “An F6 Typhoon costs $60K. A stock one on fordforums.com.au has run a 13.2 quarter. Now put the spare $40K (to meet the price of the GTR) of mods into it and see which is the quicker car.” Why not buy an R33 GTR for $30K and then spend another $30K on that It’s not new, it’s not insurable but its bloody fast. Is a 350rwkw+ F6 Typhoon insurable? I still wonder how reliable these new Ford Turbo cars are? The GTR has proven itself over the last decade, the F6 Typhoon has a long way to go!
  10. If I did I wouldn't watch you run away in 1st gear
  11. That’s okay it just means there will be even more over confident Ford owners getting annihilated by GTR owners I don’t understand how you can get hung up on the interior and suggest that the XR6T is a nicer car to drive. That kind of statement just suggests to me that you are not a DRIVER yourself.
  12. I am just going to jump in here and give my 2c worth without reading all the posts Jap cars are very cheap to do up here in Australia now, parts are everywhere, in fact for the sellers it would seem as though there are too many parts. So I wouldn’t say they are more expensive than say a Ford XR6T, in fact I would suggest it is the other way around. Personably, I feel Jap cars are much cheaper to pick up and are easier to mod. The R33 Skyline is a perfect example, or the R32 GTR. I wont give a GTR as an example as I don’t own one and I really have no idea how you can beat one without a GTR For about $5000 anyone can build an R33 GTSt capable of around 250rwkws (After Ben Tunes it). With that kind of power there are few standard road cars that will even come close. I don’t think $5000 will get you much for a GenIII V8, but then I am not completely sure about this. I also have no idea how much a XR6T costs to mod but I assume its over $5000 to get a reasonable performance gain. Anyway, at the end of the day we are comparing oranges to apples. All I know is at the time of purchasing my car (2002) it was either a 5.0L VN SS or an R33 GTSt Skyline, the option was simple.
  13. How do you know it’s a great buy have you inspected the car? Anyway looks like a clean car from the pictures and the price seems to be right
  14. Its only depressing once it blows up
  15. Got a pic of the "HKS stanless polished manifold t3 flange side mount"?
  16. A friend is after a set of 18” rims for his VS Commodore, preferably used and he is not too concerned about the condition. If you know of anyone or have a set yourself please drop me a PM. He also does not care if they do or do not come with rubber. Anyway, if you know where some 18” rims can be purchase relatively cheap to suit this car feel free to shot me a PM
  17. Is there anyone within a 30min drive of dandy with these parts?
  18. I believe his dyno result is legit ... I have a similar turbo 2535 ... my car made 233rwkws on the RacePace dyno using just 11psi.
