  1. i will always tell them whatever the stock boost is on the car they are asking about... so that after i fcuking OWN them, they will hopefully realise that the amount of boost that i run does not matter, its the supporting modifications that do which they never enquire about.
  2. ahaha this question plagues every forum. To enhance your 'Flutter' you will need a AfterMarket POD Filter. an AfterMarket Intercooler will help amplify the sound Different sized turbos will also depend on how loud, how deep, how high pitched The big thing, is having steel piping from the turbo to the pod filter. Usually its plastic from the factory and people rarely change it as its not really necessary... but changing this pipe to a steel one, will help amplify the sound. People will argue to death that it kills turbos and whatever, and its more laggy all kinds of stuff... and really, its horses for courses - whatever you prefer. I had a bov on my vl turbo, the spring in it died and the bov was useless (could not hold more than 7psi boost and would open up sounding like an external wastegate but losing all horsepower), that sucked... it was a TurboSmart Type III. after that i just took it off and had the hole welded up. I had a bov on my R32, and it wasnt placed properly (it was not hidden)... stuck out like dogs balls, and as soon as a cop pops your bonnet, they think its christmas when they see it, because they dont know fcuk all about cars, but they know what bovs look like and they know it shouldnt be there... I remember i told a cop it was standard, argued the point and got away with it. But i removed it anyway.
  3. i have a silver top RB20DET (r32 skyline) I run a Link Replacement ECU. I am quite happy with it, its simple and i have not had tuners knock me back because they dont know how to tune it. My other friends with RB20DETs either run PowerFCs or chipped factory ECUs. The PowerFC also works great (obviously... but $$$) What i dont like about link, is the hand controller has a really crappy single line layout, whereas the PowerFC and Wolf give you heaps of information on 1 screen on the controller. The other BIG difference is... Link = MAP and PFC = AFM.... to me i dont really see what the benefits are with running an Air Flow Meter, problem determination would be better probably with an AFM, but generally, my friends that still run Air Flow Meters, their cars react badly if they either have an aftermarket bov, or run no bov at all... they have to run a plumb back. I have a close friend with an R33, quite modified with a Wolf ecu... i would never purchase a Wolf ecu. He kept having to retune the car every couple of months or so... as if the computer 'lost' its tune... ecu's shouldnt do that, anyway, his engine ended up blowing, and no 'decent' engine builder/tuner would touch it because it had wolf ecu... so he sold the wolf, bought a PowerFC, the engine was built, and its going strong ! So. If cash is an issue... chip the standard ECU, it does the job just ensure its a decent chip. I can vouch for Link being a decent ECU if tuned well I can vouch for PowerFC being a decent ECU if tuned well. (all my tuning is done at Amberley Autos in Melbourne...)
  4. i had a vl turbo for 2 years, and have owned skylines for the past 2 years to current... and there is no 'skyline' comments that can compete with vl turbo comments. Owning a vl turbo is like being a magnet for d1ckheads, its a mating call for every idiot to come and give you mechanical advice based on experience from their cousins car. The main thing i get is people confusing it for a GTR when its a GTS-T, as well as, any of you who drive a modified car will get this reaction.... just general retards around you who see your car or a modified car of some sort, and they feel that its necessary to attempt to do a burnout, or just drive like a wanker or crank their stereo. And the people that do this, are always driving FWD Sh1tters and look like idiots.. i will never understand why they do this. There are also your idiotic terms they use, i've had: "Nice Flutter Valve" which sticks in my mind... i replied very abruptly "What the **** is that?" and they didnt have an answer for me... I also hate a lot of people asking me to 'pop the bonnet'. I dont exactly know what they want to see... i mean REALLY.... think about it... WHAT THE **** are you going to see... its an engine ffs. But the bonnet pop can be ok if its justified because its a friend, or someones asking a technical question which requires the bonnet pop. Someone also mentioned before about "How many pounds you running?" Now this question, i fscking hate, because its utter bullsh1t. I always get asked how much boost i am running, and i hate this question because its usually the 1st or 2nd question they ask. I strongly believe that the amount of boost you run does not equate to how fast your car is. i.e. If you have a T25 but run 5 billion PSI, your car still wont be fast. I had a retard that also owned a skyline want to race me (he is giving us a bad name), the conversation went like this: him: "Is it turbo?" me: "yes..." (thinking he is already retarded because my front mount is very visible) him: "how much boost are u running?" me: "7psi" (i was actually running 20psi through a T04r at the time but said 7psi because i hated that question) him: "Is it switchable" me: "What the **** is switchable" him: "can you change it?" anyway, from there we had a green light and it was on. He sucked.
  5. ahahahahaha, could i use the line on chicks "Would u like to suck my drift penis"
  6. ahahaha Damien, good luck with the sales! They are Wicked cars, i've seen both of them in the flesh many times. Whats on the cards next? Give me your single turbo from the r32 !!! :::BUMP:::
  7. RB engines are the bomb. i have a r32, i have driven a LOT of s13s and stuff... i used to own a vl, and for me, it was a better transition from vl to skyline because they weigh similar and to me, feel the same when driving (except when pushing hard through corners) Depends what you want from a car. I feel the s13 (early models 89-95) look extremely cheap inside, the dash, seats etc. The s13s i have driven have had suspension upgrades but i cant believe how nimble they feel, i had extreme confidence driving them hard when i stepped into them. Since getting my r32, i havent looked back... The gearboxes in them are gay, but what can you do? Visually there is so much you can do to an r32 to enhance them, parts are plentiful... also if you buy a r32, and dont like it... you can always sell it and go the s13 or vice-versa. Goodluck with it!
  8. In my series of cars, its something i make sure of, when the clutch is dumped, both wheels are spinning.... nothing sh1ts me more than a vn v6 or something like that, with one stocky on the right rear doing a donut with the circumference the same as a trucks turning circle. i had borg warner LSDs in my first 2 cars, they were great but over time with harsh treatment they started single wheeling more and more often... then i got a minispool, a lot of people were against that saying they were unpredictable etc etc... I thought it was great, it wasnt overly harsh when cornering at low speeds (city driving) and currently i have a Cusco locker. The locker is VERY harsh and its so weird how something that sounds so harsh and bad is so good. I find having the locker the car is much more predictable when the rear wheels are losing traction, mechanical 2 way diffs seem a LOT similar to me, but the locker is definitely more harsh when cornering at low speed. The bad thing is, it is a DEFINITE tyre f**ker. So if you have large wheels on the back, tires with even normal driving dont last long = Remoulds are a great thing =)
  9. you should be fine, so long as your engine has sufficient compression and when your running 12psi it isnt leaning out/detonating etc... invest in a dyno tune from somewhere that is renouned for tuning properly. Reliability is the key! Nothing sh1ts me more than when someone tells me they have 200+ rwkw and have their standard injectors maxed out etc etc. Thats just not cricket.
  10. hahaha, temp related! I had a serious CAS problem on my rb30et. I was convinced it was temp related. Cold start it was fine, i'd drive it for 10-15mins and by this stage it would reach operating temperature, then it would missfire in a BIG way, backfire and shut off... the tacho would be bouncing around everywhere even when the car was off. I'd wait like another 10-15mins, and it would start again as if nothing had happened, and it would run all day. It sucked. I got a new CAS from petro-ject - $150 odd bucks later it was sweet. I would HIGHLY suggest you guys swap Crank Angle Sensors with someone who doesnt have the problem, see how you go. You dont even have to drive the car, let it sit there and idle till it gets to operating temperature and it will freak out when it gets there. Good luck guys.
  11. yeah i'd be looking at AFM if its cracking the sads like it is. the only other time one of my cars did something similar to yours, was when the crank angle sensor was rewted. goodluck man, let us know what it was
  12. when i bust this roller t28, i am definitely going to be looking into getting a 2510!!
  13. well i have GTR rear shocks in my gts-t. so yeah... the end of the shock is like a fork, but i have this round insert that goes in there and makes up for it. *shrugs* all fits kosher and feels great.
  14. SeriesIIGTST: Nice work! i'll be keen to know your results when u get them. Are u still running standard ECU?? or power FC?
  15. there is nothing better than driving along and just leaning on the throttle a little bit and having the rear tires torching. hehehehe. nice work man!
  16. hrmm, i think either one is sufficient for the amount of power you want to make... i would consult a turbo specialist on what the best turbo set up for your price range is. i am just talking from experience with my friends Hiflowed T3, that worked a treat. Hopefully someone with a 2535 will comment on that turbo and its advantages! =)
  17. ehehe. once i had a crack in the hose that went over the cooler pipe to the airflow meter, and my car totally freaked out, we changed everything to try and sort out what it was, then yeah found that 1 day later... couldnt believe it.
  18. a friend has a hiflowed T3 with steel wheels (sierra cut back) i drove that last night, makes boost early in the rev range and holds it to red line. Great set up. It also makes the same power your looking at acheiving.
  19. what sort of power do u want to make? or what sort of times do u want to run?
  20. nah thats all wrong. HKS was originated in 1994 in tullamarine - Harry Kon & Spiros.
  21. if its single wheeling when you turn i'd think your diff was pharked. my old lsd (3 diffs ago) would LSD if i went left, but if i went right, it would single wheel - HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING. I changed the diff oil, it helped a little, it lasted about 1.5 years until it completely gave up the ghost... at times it was a bit dangerous as it was completely unpredictable, it would lsd, single wheel, then lsd etc... hated it. then i went to a minispool... that was cool i liked that, now i have a locker. They are real tyre f**kers tho, tires do not last long even when driving normally. But yeah i think you should start searching for a new diff =) Mechanical 2 ways are nice !! but $$$$ hehe. good luck with it. My friend came back from Japan with a mech 2 way diff and sold it for $800 - $900... hehe cheap cheap. i see them go for around $1000-$1500 tho = I'll have to ask him if he can get another for a decent price.
  22. i have GTR struts in my gts-t... no idea if it differs from gts4, but u should be sweet. gts-t struts wont go in a gtr tho.
  23. i have a roller t28 on mine. I am surprised at how quickly this turbo spools, it will start creating boost around the 2000rpm making some decent power around the 3000rpm mark and it will pull and hold the boost all the way until its 8000rpm redline. You dont get that lag lag lag lag BANG sort of power you get from some of your larger turbos, everyone thats driven it comments on the very smooth power delivery. I like to have useable power out of my cars, i'd recommend this turbo without a doubt, if i went bigger, i'd only go one size up... the rb20 motor is laggy enuff as it is! hehe.
  24. i have a link ecu on my skyline, i am looking to take it to get it tuned as soon as i fit these new injectors, so when i get it tuned and get some pros and cons, i'll send u a pm!
