  1. This event was a great success ! I saw one of the SAU forum members out there (UserName = Roy) Drift Nationals is on April 16th/17th Thanks, -Liam.
  2. when you bring a sport to australia, you have to expect that there will be an Australian spin put on it to include everyone. And that is, Holdens and Fords entering drift competitions. As it has been said in previous posts... by excluding these cars from drifting, you are being just as bad as the narrow minded people that bag out japanese cars. I embrace holdens and fords entering drift competitions, it is great for the growth of the sport. I dislike seeing prejudice and poor sportsmanship because of the type of car someone drives. (except for front wheel drives, those things should be abolished from the earth  )
  3. My friend had this problem, and it was because he was running an MX5 Gearbox in his car (which is from a Holden VL Commodore). This will cause the speed to be 20kmh out... maybe it doesnt apply to you guys, but i thought i should mention it.
  4. To my knowledge (and what i have set my red line cut out on my ECU) it is 7850rpm This is more than enough revs, you mainly have to worry about still being in torque curve when u shift to the next gear, and you should well be if you shift at this point... anymore than that (over 8000rpm) i think is a bit dangerous
  5. if u want no noise. fit a standard airbox with a K&N panel filter.
  6. HEY. these two words do NOT go together. TOUGH and PLUMBACK.
  7. Remember to play around with your settings. After all, its what YOU prefer, there is no SET guidelines as to what HAS to be used for drifting. Some extra information from settings that i use on my car (r32 gts-t) Castor = 8 degrees Front Camber = 2.5degrees neg Rear Camber = 2degrees neg
  8. There is a lot of bitching happening on the internet about this. "its embarrasing" "its sh1t" "everyone is crap" While you are on the internet bagging it, the drivers are out there practicing, and their talent is getting better and better. More drivers are securing sponsorship with major companies. If you are basing your opinion of Australia's drifting talent on the ProClass Drift segment that was shown on TV, you have to remember that the drivers were given VERY minimal time to practice/qualify. Hopefully some of you guys could actually attend an event, and maybe even enter to appreciate how difficult it is, and how much skill some of Australia's drivers actually have.
  9. Hi Billy, What you want is to have the rear as hard as possible. I have put in a thicker rear sway bar from a GTR into my car as well as a front/rear strut brace. I have the front of my car a bit softer than the rear to soak up any understeer and a decent set of tyres on the front - semi slicks on the front are ideal, but can be expensive. Tein HA's are known to be extremely hard so it will be perfect for your drift application. Good luck with it. -Liam.
  10. Jeff Boulos? I thought you name was "Drift Commissioner"?? :headspin:
  11. Hi Guys, I have been at every event that the CAPA Drift Ute has entered. The driver of the car is new to drifting, and is improving each round he enters. I think it is great for the sport that new and different cars are competing. I do not think it should be limited to Japanese cars. Robbie Bolger is building a range of drift cars and is recruiting drivers who compete in Full Lock events that have shown talent, i am sure none of you would say no if he offered you a fully sponsored purpose built car with a salary. He has put a lot of time, effort and money into his ute, and he is continually slagged off on internet forums. Why? Because he has an australian car. He is a great guy to deal with and has definitely bought a lot more attention to the sport to prove that Drifting is not just for Japanese cars. Thanks, -Liam.

  13. Hey Buddy, I had this EXACT problem. I changed my power steering rack and pump. All Good Now.
  14. haha Douche, Fcuk highway kilometres. I was talking CITY driving, because thats where it fcuks you the hardest. Highway my fuel consumption is no problems.
  15. my mate has one on his car, rb20det with 2530, makes 200rwkw. very nice torque curve.
  16. you might want to edit your price...
  17. This is something i notice straight away, and it really tells the story as to whether a car has been tuned properly for driveability. i NEVER had this issue with my LINK when it was tuned properly. One thing that rings true though is that my car chews through fuel, and runs extremely rich. But thats fine by me, last thing i want is the thing running lean... i cant expect a car with 300+rwhp to be decent on fuel.
  18. If your insurance company requires you to have an alarm installed, it is very important for you to get them to tell you which alarms are suitable.
  19. hehe, yeah i was merely comparing the handcontroller to a Wolf3D handcontroller or a PFC handcontroller which give you a range of information on the one screen.
  20. Ok, if your going to make a bold statement like that, you need to suggest/list some factual information here. You are like 90% of the other posts on here that just go with 'the flow' "Everyone Else Is Doing It, So It MUST Be Good !" And thats the biggest crock of sh1t, and i hate reading peoples posts who have no actual idea what they are talking about, they just post what other people do. List me some factual information for and against LinkECUs.
  21. I have a LINK ecu in my 32 gtst. I've had no problems what-so-ever apart from mechanics 'claiming' they can tune it, when they know fcuk all and screwed my car completely. So be weary. The two workshops that have tuned my car with success is Amberley Autos and AVO. I have a severe problem at the moment with it though, as i am building another 32 gtst and have put the ecu into my new car, and i am MISSING the LINK map sensor !!! Its weird, the r32 GTR LINK ecu, will run on the factory nissan map sensor, but the r32 gtst requires a LINK map sensor. AVO have no more map sensors, and they dont know when they will be getting anymore... so this is stressing me out big time. The only down side, is that the handcontroller has limited read out information i.e. only 1 line screen.
  22. hmm you may want to check this out, but i think the N/A diffs have shorter gears which is a good thing if you are looking for faster acceleration. All standard LSD's in the nissans are pretty crap, and will start single wheeling when you give them constant sh1t. If you want proper LSD, get a decent 2-way diff, or weld it up if you wanna save cash =)
