New To The Scene - Would Like Your Opinions!

Make sure that you have it checked by a mechanic... And by that I mean a mechanic that is familiar with turbo cars/imports not some backyard generalist. It can cost a little bit $100 to $300 depending on how much and how thorough a check they do but in the long term it is worth every cent... If you don't know one you will find some recommended mechanics mentioned in the forums. When I bought mine I made it a condition of sale. If they refuse to let it be done ask yourself why -
I will try and come down... I have only met a few of you so far... So it will be good to catch up What time are people heading down?

I still say that nothing beats a secret single or dual action hidden kill switch... Don't even tell your mates where it is hidden/how it operates. It does not need to be engaged every time but if you are leaving your car overnight or parked when out at a function then turn it on... They can play with the alarm and immobilisers the ignition or even have a key. Most petty car thief's now how to get around even the best alarms. with that said it won't stop a determined pro but it will stop the joy riders and low to middle class thief's who take your car and just end up thrashing it and causing medium to minor damage. If mine was to go I would want a pro to do it... At least then when found, if ever it would be in no condition to be fixed... They are never the same once damaged and repaired

I am pretty sure but don't quote me... As long as the coilovers cannot adjust the height of the car below 100mm regardless of what height they were set at the time of the accident then they are legal. Also as long as they also have at least 2/3 of the original travel. I think that is how the ruling is interpreted Like the quotes before... You just need to stand your ground a bit. Just cars insurance will on charge the costs to the at fault drivers insurance anyhow so in the end they wont get affected. They may be pushing back because they know that the other insurance company will try and fight them behind the scenes on the costs of the coilovers.

Is that the same one you were getting ready when I popped out for some parts? It looks great

Hi all Well I got my delivery of Carbon Fiber (twill - 2 over 2 under) and resins a few days ago I decided to do a flat test piece on some plastic as I have only done fiberglass before this way. It turned out ok so decided to move onto a center armrest..... Frustration... Although similar to fiberglass I have found it to be slightly more difficult to deal with especially when trying to stop it from coming apart at the ends while moulding it around the arm rest corners... Initially I had the edges taped with masking tape while positioning the top and largest surface area. Once stage 1 was done I cut around to desired length plus some extra to wrap underneath and secure with tape... Note: The arm rest has had a coat of dyed epoxy applied and allowed to cure to tack as a base for the fiber to stick to. This is where it all went wrong, it comes apart so easy At $70+ a square meter mistakes are expensive... I thought I would see if anyone has any hints and tips...
