  1. Wouldn't the engineer need to take into consideration the EPA?? It seems silly to me that a car can meet the ADRs and still be a worry for getting defected by the EPA. Surely if you prove to the EPA that a pod and an intercooler do not increase emissions (and that they are roadworthy) that they would have no reason to take any action.
  2. Can't say I've heard of the one intake mod thing. Sounds like a lot of bureaucratic BS too me. Can't you guys get a car engineered in VIC?? My understanding is that: 1) Pods need to be engineered due to increased induction noise. A simple drive by sound test by an engineer is all that is needed to clear this. 2) FMICs need to be engineered, mainly because it is a "modification", hence a certificate is required for it, but also because it also supposedly raises emissions from a vehicle :bs!: While an engineer can give you a certificate for this modification, I've been told that for it to be air tight (i.e you can't be defected), it must also be accompanied by an emissions test on your car. In NSW (I don't know whether this is different in other states), both a pod and a front mount intercooler, or for that fact any modification, can be done to your car as long as it is engineered etc etc. The easy way out, of course, would be to return to stock.
  3. True, the EPA can still get you even with an engineer's certificate. However, I would've thought, though, that programmable engine management (i.e PowerFC) would be advisable as you can lean the mixtures out so that the emissions are not too high. Wouldn't stock ecu's run the car rich, therefore have higher emissions??
  4. Makes you wonder what the goverment do with all the money they're supposed to be spending fixing the roads.
  5. And excel drivers have as much talent as Peter Brock.
  6. Try www.carmate.com.au . They have a lot of bodykits for a lot of makes including the R33. Quality is reasonably good too. If that fails try www.nismo.com.au.
  7. Try carmate.com.au. The quality of their bonnets are pretty good and their prices aren't too bad (about $1200). LegnumVR4: How long till you get some prices on CF bonnets. Very interested in getting one like the one attached for a 98 R34 as soon as possible.

:wavey: Good to see someone else on here from the Mid North Coast.
  9. Don't forget to add stamp duty etc to the price that they are asking for. Unless its already included of course.
  10. Yeah, that sucks. I guess it all goes to prove that if something is too good to be true (or too cheap??), then most probably it is. Even though I have bought stuff off ebay before, I am just waiting for the same thing to happen. I usually try to avoid buying stuff sight unseen. Who knows what you're buying if you can't actually see it?? I bet if these guys were locals, and had you guys on their doorstep every day, it would be harder to ignore than clicking delete on their email. Guess some people are just out to take advantage of others. Hope these a*seholes get what's coming to them. :kick:

All too true. The car made a cameo appearance down here in Coffs last weekend. I too have heard that the car is quick, but outside of it being a GTST, I have no idea.
  12. Thankyou NismoR34. As I have never seen one of these consoles, how big are the gauges?? I'm looking at getting one of these to host a series of aftermarket gauges, cos it looks stock, hence no defects. Would HKS or Blitz gauges fit??
  13. ARC are a good brand, but in my opinion, that price for a side mount intercooler cannot be justified. Especially when for about the same price you can get a FMIC (with piping). As alternatives, HKS FMIC use the standard piping, as well as Blitz. Blitz also make side mount intercoolers too.
  14. I think that the fact that they haven't replied to any emails suggests that the piping is more than likely not coming. I agree with everyone else when they say to contact Ebay ASAP. The longer you let it go on, the lower the chances you have of a positive resolution. As for contacting them, try finding their ABN. Fair trading or the ATO should give you all their contact details if you provide them with this.
  15. First car I bought was a 2000 Lancer. Had a GSR 1.8L turbo transplanted in, Evo 5 kit, carbon fibre altezza rear lights and stereo. Went alright, but for the money I paid for it, I now wonder why I didn't go an import ages ago!!

    bonnets

Pod filters do not have to be in an airbox. Just get the thing engineered. As for CF bonnets, I was always under the assumption that they are owner certified, meaning that they do not have to be engineered to be legal. Probably the best person to speak to would be an engineer. They'd be more consistent than the RTA.
  17. How hard is it to fit the standard R34 GTT cluster to a R34 25GT?? I'm looking at getting one, but not sure whether its worth the hassle.
  18. Can't say that I've seen it, but will keep an eye out for it. Shouldn't be hard to spot May I ask, what work has been done to it??
  19. Don't really agree with attacking the car. Remember, its not the car doing the burnouts (or trying to), its the di(khead inside, so respect the ride and leave it alone. My advice. This could get alot more nasty very quickly, so keep an eye on those imports of yours!!!
  20. Too late to add myself to the list, or take the spot of someone who has pulled out? Interested in getting one for my 34.
  21. I will have one for sale in about 2 weeks. Is as new. Asking $135 + postage anywhere in Australia. Dont have pics of it though.
  22. Can't speak for anyone else, but for me, it was about buying an R34 for a decent price. The RB25DE still has a fair bit of poke due to the NEO, but for me, I had to have a turbo, so I swapped on in.
  23. Go the front cut swap. Although more expensive in the short term, it will work out cheaper in the long run should you wish to modify the engine further down the track.
  24. Do you get any compressor surge?? My understanding is that this would be the only threat to your engine from having no BOV, hence, if there's no compressor surge (i.e fluttering), then there would be no problems??
  25. Why not go for an aftermarket plenum made for the RB25?? At least then you know some R&D has gone into its design to make sure it works.
