  1. How hard are the NEO-RB25DETs out of a automatic stagea to transplant into a NEO-RB25DE manual R34??
  2. Hi guys, I have my eye on a front cut from a 2000 stagea and would like some information regarding the difference between the RB25DETs in them and the ones found in R34s. I have been told that because they are auto, they have less power. Is that just a simple tuning problem cos they're auto?? Or is there more to it?? How hard are they RB25DETs out of the stagea's to transplant into a manual R34?? I know that you need to change the sump and oil pickup, and that the loom is different. Can anyone expand on this?? Is there an easy way to get around these problems?? Thanks in advance, Brett
  3. I have settled on $1000 ono for the engine + freight, ECU and possible the loom. I pay for the new front cut tommorrow, so hopefully the engine etc will be available within the next few weeks.
  4. Hey guys, Available soon (3-4 weeks maybe even sooner) will be the RB25DE Neo out of my 1998 R34. It is in excellent condition and has only 17000 kms on it. The engine will be sold with ECU but no sump (needed for engine conversion), and may contain the loom as well (depending on what I need to use for the engine conversion). If you would like more details, please PM me.
  5. I don't know how hard it is, but if you're looking for an RB25DE, the one out of my R34 will be up for sale soon. PM me if you want more details.
  6. Here's a question for you Sydney guys: anyone seen a 4 door R33, or know of it, with YBY-05L licence plates. Apparently he's got 315kw @ 26psi. He's also in Coffs at the moment.
  7. Oh wait. My bad. It was all the extra police in town, not holiday makers.
  8. Yeah, there all down here in Coffs Harbour. I swear the population tripled today!!
  9. Sup peoples?? Anything interesting happening??
  10. I'd like to come, as I've never been part of a big cruise before. However I will know no one and do not know the area well. Should I bother??
  11. To my knowledge, fire an theft is only covered comprehensively in NSW. In QLD I think Suncorp Metway offer the option for just fire and theft. Don't ask me why NSW is different.
  12. Didn't notice much of a difference in power (if at all) with the 3.25". Looks schmick and sounds great. A bit loud down low, but at cruise speed and idleing, can't even notice it. Again, the exhaust is a bit bigger than I needed, but seeing as a turbo is coming soon, I opted for too big to save money down the track. As for the insurance, insuring it in your dad's name is a waste of time. You don't earn any no-claim bonus for yourself, the excess also makes it a waste of time and can also give the insurance company a reason for not paying out too (i.e if you insure a WRX for example in your dad's name, they will not pay if a driver crashes that is under 25!!). Same could apply to your car. I got quote just under $4500 with 0% no claim, no mods and a speeding fine just recently through just cars
  13. The RB25DE NEO 6 puts out about 147kw at the fly. Read the post on the 25GT specs.
  14. I recently just bought a 25GT which looks almost identical to the one you just bought. To say that I am pleased with it is an understatement. For the exhaust I have recently (read: today) fitted an HKS Super Dragger II exhaust. It is a bit bigger than it should be I spose (3.25") but, like you, I am looking to turbo it too, so I was recommended to buy a turbo exhaust first, rather than buying a non-turbo, then replacing it later. Also very impressed with this purchase. As for the white rims, unless you've got some time on your hands, don't bother. I had white rims on my Lancer and spent more time cleaning them than actually driving the car Nothing beats allow in my opinion.
  15. You guys are lucky. Up here in Coffs Harbour, I think I'm the only Skyline in existence. I see the odd 33 but they are probably driving through town. Not complaining though. I have a stock R34 and it turns heads like nothing else
  16. there are two type of bending from my knowledge. If I'm wrong about the following please feel free to correct: Press bent - can be done by any exhaust shop. Causes pipe to become smaller in diameter where the bends are i.e --> ) (. Causes restriction in flow where the bends are. Mandrel bent - requires more sophisticated bending machines. Pipe stays same diameter where the bends are i.e --> | |. Flow stays the same throughout the pipe.
  17. Have considered an engine swap but as the engine only has 12k on it, seems pointless. Also I know the history of the engine and its condition, so why waste money buying an engine that has been flogged??
  18. Hey guys, Let me introduce myself. My name is Brett and I have just become the proud owner of a '98 R34 Skyline. As this is my first Skyline (or for that fact my first Nissan), I have very little knowledge about Nissan technologies, so I need your help. Can someone tell me the difference between the RB25DE and the RB25DET engine (besides the obvious). I am looking to turbocharge the NEO 6 and was wondering whether parts of the DET would bolt onto the DE. Also, has anyone turbocharged their R34. I would like to get as much information as I could regarding the matter (prices, parts, problems etc). Thanks in advance Brett
