  1. some came standard with lsd. rip a skid (on the track of course), if you leave 2 black ones you've got an lsd
  2. the GPS wont work in australia, not without pulling it apart anyway. quite a fair bit of coin. you can get the dvd working though. best guy to ask this question is "Chris Rogers" have a search for him around the forum, very very knowledgeable guy!
  3. loving the new wheels and seats, dropped the weight noticeably and feels comfortable. weight is in pounds, minus driver and 3/4 tank. pics from a holden motorkhana on the weekend just gone by, 3rd in my class outright and overall 6th with class handicap.
  4. mate it all comes down to the design, material and brand. as you've said yourself it's been covered many many many times before and thus people don't want to be repeating themselves. no one can give you a straight up answer, purely because a 3" mild steel rear muffler is going to sound different to a 5" titanium steel muffler, then it varies from brand to brand depending on how they've designed it. power wise i'd say the effects of different diameter is going to be negligible - they muffler muffles the sound, and if it had any effect on the car's power and/or delivery you wouldn't notice it. best bet is to search around the forum and ask a couple of guys if they're nice enough to upload an mp3 clip of it or something.
  5. thanks yeah i decided to divert all my car funds into my hecs debt, i'm officially debt free now. i can finally start concentrating on doing other things without having that sitting at the back of my mind. lol @ pottery, but i do agree why do we have such expensive hobbies!? sorry to hear about the motor build, such is life unfortunately - i've never met a single person that had a flawless and easy engine conversion, engine build, etc. a guy i know made some crazy 400+ HP and at the beginning of this year he only wanted to spend 10-15K max, i think he's tripled that figure now and still counting. also to keep the thread on topic here are some photos from yesterday courtesy of zennon dodging cones the missus getting in on it it doesnt look THAT high does it? weigh in (pounds) minus driver = 1340kg 3/4 fuel load weigh in
  6. we did a compression test and it's perfect across all 6, quite surprised considering the abuse (engine has 100K). the oil that was pissing out turned out to be a cam seal, so that was amended followed by a fresh service and she's healthy as! got in some adjustable camber and castor, so we'll see how the suspension goes this weekend at a motorkhana i'm going. there's really not much else to do to the car suspension wise and i'm not really interested in getting more power at the moment, a number of factors; i'm starting a phd, money (going to be buying a house late next year) and most importantly the headache. i'm sure i can still go another 5-10 seconds faster on any track with more practice and a tweak of the suspension. i've bought a stringline wheel alignment kit a few months back so i'll be playing around with my settings over the next couple of months to try and find the sweet spot. how's things your end Cris? and skyline's will always be a never ending pit of cash. kinda keen in throwing my money on a newer car VE ute has taken my fancy of late. RB30 block is still sitting in my laundry
  7. we shall see... handling over cosmetics. sydneykid's bilsteins are optimal at this ride height.
  8. thanks - i'll try to get some high res pics later today. the rims are 17 x 8.5, running 235s 595SS on them now. hopefully will have some 595RS semis to put on them at the end of the year. they are so amazingly light, makes me nervous driving them around. p.s. - love the silhouette with those LMGT2 rims!!! hot!!
  9. you know that's the weird thing Cris. these rims make the car seem a lot higher than what it actually is. there was about 120mm clearance with my sparco rims, the nismo's have the same rolling diameter so really the height shouldn't have changed. see how the skirts go, if not i can always drop down 1 or 2 circlips on the bilsteins.
  10. finally got these babies on. also picked up a pair of side skirts and rear pods which will need to be painted and fitted when time/cash allows.
  11. heater core should be fine if you've bypassed it. i'd be looking more electrical, have you accidentally snipped something or quite possibly got some coolant onto some wires.
  12. cris i have edited your comment just slightly so it doesn't look too slanderous
  13. nice pair of twins on those LS1s
  14. best to check out the v-series skyline section. a large portion of the stuff here is more RB related than VQ. however any general induction and exhaustion mods will reap good gains as most cars come with restrictive systems from factory.
  15. everyone has pretty much been spot on. best bet with the pricing is to call around and get some quotes.
  16. i would second the recommendation for chris rogers
  17. stainless steel elbow pipe should do the trick, it's not rocket science.
  18. check with your local state laws. n-dawg is correct, if you are a p-plater you cannot do any modifications anyway
  19. you might have to opt for the tomei poncams then
  20. vicky is on the money... these topics have been covered extensively before.
