The lovely team at SAU Vic have agreed to host a BBQ and some soft drinks after the race at the venue. This will be a great way to meet some of the other members, and beat the ones you despise! Also when leaving and entering the carpark to remember the race hasnt begun, or its finished! The only time racing will be tolerated, is when i kick all of your asses on the track! As you can tell, by my next post, we will only be reserving spots for those who have paid and we have received. see you all there!
  2. Problems with registering / password reset Hi all at SAU, Well it is so good to finally be on board here after having tried twice to register previously. I have tried registering a couple of times in the past, and for some reason, I was not getting the email to validate my account. That was with a gmail address. More recently, I tried again with a hotmail account and it worked. Site doesn't like gmail accounts? Just a thought. Another problem I just had was the password reset function. I requested the password reset email, and after waiting a while (well over the few minutes the website suggested), no email. :s Then I tried a second time, and hooray, the email arrived. Just thought I would inform about these problems, they sure have made it difficult to get on board and become part of the site. I hope it's a smoother Skyline ride from here on, Hehehe.
  3. SAU goes to Tuned. Spring Meet It's time again we round up the Cavalry and go to Tuned. Spring Meet this Sunday. We will be pre-meeting at Club Marconi with two other groups (entrance via Prairie Vale Rd), same as last time at 10:15 for a departure at 10:45 to Fairfield Showground so we have ample time to set up our display of cars and create somehting a bit different like we did before Reminder that it is $5 per car on entry at Tuned. As always, please be on your best behaviour. We will have photographers and videographers doing the rounds for a mini promo vid as well!Stickers etc will also be available for all three groups.IF the weather does turn sour Tuned will cancel their event and as such we can create an alternative plan for those who come out. For now this involves in shooting a few promo vids for SAU, so if you'd like to be featured come and join!!Have a nice week & hope to see you all there! Link to Facebook Event
  4. New Adelaide member Hi All, Recently brought a manual back stagea c34, everytime i search for info google brings up sau - so thought it would be a good time to sign up and start making this car mine. Previous to the stagea i had a 180sx type-x, but i got hit, t-bone, i was going to re-shell it (everything was still alright from the accident), but after searching for a straight shell for 6 months i gave up and wanted something bigger. I really miss my 180 and im still slowly parting it out, i need to let it go, hopefully the stagea can be just as fun. anyway just saying hi, was previously a member of hardtuned.net, but this site seems more suited to the stagea. oh and my car details, currently has - pod, bc coilovers. It had a loud and annoying exhaust - but i swapped with a stock one to lower the noise till i decade what i wanna do exhaust wise, looking to go back to stock suspension as i like comfort over stiff suspension. when i find some decent used suspension and plan to stick some nismo injectors, niusstune, bit more boost and maybe a few other things, may also go back to a stock airbox, depending on how much it can handle (i dont like pods). anyway hi :).
  5. Hi everyone, I'm Chris and I'm new to the SAU forums. This is my '98 R33 40th Anniversary, which is currently in the middle of being built and getting some fresh paintwork done. It's my first turbo car since getting my full license and its been a real fun experience so far, can't wait to drive it again when it's back on the road.
  6. Short Story: Sold skyline, people told me I would regret it Regretted it Bought 4wd Miss fast car Long story: I miss having a quick car for the street. My 260rwkw R33 had the perfect amount of power, and I never really got tired of how quick it was. Handling is important to me and I've done a few track days, but power is definitely placed higher in my criteria. The problem with my skyline was a) they're old and getting harder to find parts for, and b) theft is out of control in VIC so I couldn't really drive it anywhere and leave it without paranoia kicking in. I'm looking at getting a V8 ute now, probably a 6L L76 VZ SS or a VZ Maloo. I'd look at something like an F6 Tornado too, if it wasn't for that live axle rear end. Has anyone got firsthand experience with these? I've never driven one, so I'm not sure what to expect apart from more boat-like handling, which is okay. I'd be getting a manual in either case, and if I got the SS instead of the Maloo, could probably splurge on a supercharger to waken it up a bit. I'm sorry to say but this whole JDM wank-fest which has come about over the last few years has made so many once bargain performance cars unobtainable, or a terrible rip off, so getting back in a Nissan is probably off the table for now. Cheers
