Quite well, just searching around now for a R32/33 GTR box to manual convert...apart from that, i also need some wheels to fit some brakes . Just bought a screwed turbo ready to high flow and yeh...should be all good in about 3-5 months..

...then, FINALLY, i can start saving for a house.

Ross80, you get less hassle with stageas. They are family cars after all . They go OK with minor mods, keep skylines etc easy but they do use quite a bit more fuel (adds up over a year)

BTW. Back to the chassis bracing fiasco, under a mate s14 today...they have tunnel braces too. :)

Your right, it is the internet, you call anyone you want what you want.

Thought you would be a bit more supportive of people trying to get the most out of their cars. Oh, and is it your business in your sig?

haha get over it mate for f**k sake, and atleast ive built mine not just paid over a cheque and bought it and then brag like its the best thing since the latest ferrari, when its only stock and would run a mid 13 or something? :)

anyone can buy a 260rs with money, but not many actually modify shit and make it different to every other one on the road :(

thats about all i want to say on the subject

The 260 put out 180rwkw. Stock. The factory front pipe (after dumps) has two small cats in line, never seen it before! After that there are another 2 large cats. Poor thing is choking itself to death. Will have it on the rollers again this arv so will keep you posted.

Cheers,

Ken

Probably wont be back on the rollers today. Have to take the turbos off to fit the dumps. Not much room down there. I have a replacement front pipe going on and the powerfc fit and tune. I am hoping to get around 230-240rwkw. Dont know if I am dreaming but we will see how we go.

SK - what sort of power should I expect?? Only have a pair of HKS dumps, nismo front pipe, powerfc and boost is at 13psi.

The PFC isnt in yet but we had another dyno run (35deg air temp, fkn hot today) but she still managed 202rwkw which is 22rwkw up from std. Hopefully have the pfc tuned tomorrow!

  • 3 months later...

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
