Mutha***in Cops Gave Me A Canary

Recommended Posts

Didnt speed/drink or do anything stupid with my car all night last night, pulled off the freeway onto heatherton road was doing 60km/h and to my ***ing luck there was a gold ss cop car coming in the same direction right behind me. I didnt realise it was a cop car till i got to the stud road intersection and throught shit, hes gonna pull me over for sum shit, there were no other cars around and before i could try do a quick u turn or pull into the petrol station he put his light on and made me pull over near the dande pools!

He first breath tested me and checked my license, and nothing so i thought ok i might be ok, but then i realised that hes partner already had the canary book in his hand, then he said pop the bonnet i thought get ***eddddddddddddd!!!

This is what i got done for:

* Adj Boost Controller

I asked him y u cant have 1, he said u just cant.

* Air Filter

Its a K/N and meant to be with ADR rules i told him. No reponse.

* Exhaust Noise

Pity i was doing 60 kmh and at that speed my exhaust is not much louder than normal!

* Hole Cut For Intercooler

Ice cut this hole and is perfectly legal.

* Amplifiers in boot not secured

WTF? and that affects how the car drives??

* Digital Screen (AFC)

recons its in my line of sight which it isent, (25 degrees left to right) he just glanced at it from the outside and wrote it down, didnt bother to sit in the car even to see it wasent!

* Front Spoiler Not Secured

Yeah right i just had the whole thing off 2 weeks ago and screwed it in with new screws and was as secure as it was ever gonna be.

he looked for ages for a BOV and asked where i was hiding it in the piping, i said i only got the stock 1, he didnt believe me so he looked for about 10 mins on the piping and obiviously didnt find 1 AS I DONT HAVE AN AFTERMARKET 1 (u ***ing wanker cop)!!

The other pencil dicked nazi cop was asking where my baby seat anchor points were on the parcel shelf??? WTF i asked him i, i have never seen any on the 100's of skylines i have seen, he mumbled sum crap i just walked away

All in all its was total bullshit, he would have got me even if my car was bog stock!

I rang my uncle who works for vic roads and told him and he said cops have been on a ramage in the dande SE areas lately on imports because they have been involved in all apparent illegal activites and skylines have been marked as 1 of the main culprits, he said it was bullshit 2 and not to worry about changing anything but just get a roadworth and hand it over to vicroads as they dont bother to check them anymore especially with bullshit like i got done for coz they get so many people coming in every week with canarys for their imports which are rubbish!

So my warning to u guys is if u see a cop car especially those ***in yellow ss ****s stay away from em as u will get dicked!

And for all you ****s with skylines doing stupid shit now, ***OFF AND SELL YOUR SKYLINE AND BUY SUMTHING ELSE, U R GIVING THE REST OF US A BAD NAME!

when i drove off i gave them the 1 finger salute through the rear vision mirror 2!

**** hey... bastards!! looks like they knew what they were looking for too and were just out on a mission to do you for whatever they could. It doesn't even seem like they had a full idea, just a semi clue and they've obviously been briefed on what to go for.

See *that* is when cops are just being ****s and going over the top. Most of that stuff is so dubious, and even so will take you 10 minutes to fix so really they're just wasting your time having to do all the things to get it back on the road.

Anyway, hopefully you can get it back on the road without too much dramas..

To add insult to injury i also got a $165 fine for driving a modified vehicle which forgot to add in the first post.

Its total crap, and also i forgot he tried to tell me i had tinted headlights, *shakes head* i explained to him it was called dirt, yes the headlights were dirty and demonstrated to him by rubbing my finger on the headlight and showing him the the dirt on my finger! :P

Also is the same muth***er cop that got me in my ford cortina 3 years ago, i just realised from the name on the form.

I am pulling the canary sticker off and placing it right near the bottom of the dash so it cant been seen properly!

inasnt that sucks cause as you say your not form the hoon fringe.

they are just picking on you young guys and they figure if you get done enough times you will give up and conform. go and by a camry and be happy :P

who are they to tell us what to do or what to drive or what wear.

unfortunatly there isnt much you can do cause they are the law.

cheers

meggala

u shouldnt have showed em shit u dont have to

they cant look at ur car with ur permision ..

i did that with my commodore he started lookin my my boot i said excuseme can u please not look

and they had to stop

..

i foundout of my mate sold man they need a warrent to search ur car..

Zdenko

That dont work anymore, they can search your car coz they can say that a similiar car was involved in a robbery or was reported stolen or sum crap like that!

it was 1.40am there was no other cars on the road he would have got me no matter what i did or said!

meggala

the cop arseholes name who got me for a second time now is nigel dasilva and he lives in dande, if i find his address out, i have friend at telstra and optus, he gonna be getting alot of pizzas delivered to his house etc.

Yeah sparkle,****** copper got me for a "pop off valve" last year WTF.The worst thing is going to the inspections,try to make sure your car is the best condition it is before u go.To all the skyline's out there,if u wanna race,dont do it in a residential area.Go out somewhere in the bush roads.If you wanna do other crimes,dont even buy a skyline.

To add insult to injury i also got a $165 fine for driving a modified vehicle which forgot to add in the first post.

What the hell is that? I didn't think there could be extra fine that could be stuck on but maybe they have changed it so they can just do whatever they like. There are so many "modified" cars on the road its not funny..

The boost controller thing i just can't understand. Its not as if its making the car more dangerous, its just making it faster... so faster than an SS commodore or something sold "as is" with 250kw or whatever.

I can understand the fear factor though in a way, cars less than $20k that many can afford.. that can easily put out 240kw with a few mods.. that are faster than the cop cars themselves. Similar arguments were put out when WRX first came out.

Well maybe the cops should upgrade to r34 GTR's, its not our problems that their cars are shit:D

funniest thing is as i said vicroads wont even look at the car, i just gotta hand the defect form in with the roadworthy form (vicroads know cops r fully of shit), done it before with my cortina when it got defected for bullshit 2!

skyline33

as for whats legal and whats not cops dont really care, they can get u for bullshit, then u go to vicroads and they even say its crap!

Cops are like lawyers these days all they care about is making money off innocent people! And i thought my plates INASNT would of prove to them that i am inasnt! :P

    • My experience with Rising Sun Exports Before agreeing to the sale I tried to do as much research as I could (obviously), his Facebook reviews are 98% and he goes Live at least once or twice a week. I contacted 2 people in the UK who had used him for their imports, both had positive feedback. His explanation and talk through of the import process was thorough, answering any query no matter how stupid it was. It felt as soon as the money was sent, communication dropped off. I asked for shipping updates every 2 weeks or so, not wanting to pester him, he never had any updates. I wasn't informed the car had been dropped off at the port, I only found out by his Facebook story. I asked for the photos taken at the port, knowing he would need some for insurance purposes. I received a few 5 second clips and that's it. When asked again, he said his staff had them. Weeks later I asked again, he tells me he doesn't have any, but does have 50 photos from the original advert. I never received them. I eventually got the documents sent via WhatsApp after I mentioned the port was requesting them. I purchased a CarVX report, to find out the vehicle is a Grade R with recorded accident damage, first recorded in 2017 when it was first auctioned. He never told me the grade, then again I didn't ask. His response was "Grade R means nothing, it wasn't chassis damage". Still, I would have liked to have been informed about it. Jon prides himself on being open and honest when it comes to inspecting cars, it's his main job doing so at the auctions for customers. When the vehicle arrived in the UK I noticed a few little cosmetic issues. It's a 21 year old car so it wasn't going to be mint condition. The side skirts are cracked on each corner and the sealant is failing. The front grill on the bonnet/hood isn't secured very well, mounting studs are missing. Both minor things, but again, it would have been nice to be told. During a Facebook Live walk around video of the vehicle, he mentioned it has a front Whiteline anti roll bar/sway bar. While on the inspection ramp, I noticed the stock item has been installed. When first questioned, his response was "the ARB? Switched? Since when, it never had them". Since sending video and photo evidence I've not received a response. I'm probably being over critical of the overall condition of an old car, but all I wanted was honesty (which he claims to have). I'm aware I wasn't his only customer, he's busy doing XYZ but other reviews praise him for great communication with regular updates and photos, I felt I didn't receive the same treatment.
    • I was able to get some underside photos while the car was on the ramp The suspension is all Altezza/IS200/IS300 so getting part's will hopefully be less of a headache
    • Welcome to my 2004 Toyota Mark ii IR-V Fortuna (series 2) With a 1JZ-GTE powerplant under the bonnet (hood) it'll give me plenty of scope for power upgrades. For those who aren't familiar with imports, the 1JZ-GTE is a 2.5L 6 cylinder VVTi engine with a single turbocharger. This has the factory R154 5 speed gearbox, along with a aftermarket 2 way LSD differential (brand unknown). Under the arches are a set of CST Zero 1 alloys, 18x9 +30 225/40 up front and 18x9.5 +15 265/35 on the rear. The car was quite low in Japan and there's evidence of the wheels catching the rolled arches/fenders. The tyre's aren't great so I'm in two minds whether to replace both or just the tyres and put up with the wider wheels on the rear. The car still uses stock brakes with the addition of some braided hoses. The exterior is stock with the exception of a BN Sports front bumper and a replacement Fortuna grill  Moving to the interior, the steering wheel has been replaced with a dished MOMO steering wheel (which will get swapped for my Momo Tuner for the time being) Defi Link Gauges are mounted above the climate controls and on the A pillar, the Oil Temp,Oil Pressure,Water Temp and Boost gauges should help with spirited and track driving  The stock seats have been replaced with some retrimmed Recaro bucket seats. Being a larger build these are a little snug, unfortunately the orange isn't for me so I'll look into replacing these down the line. Other modifications include a twin plate clutch, Blitz intercooler, Evolve alloy radiator, a stainless exhaust with decat, HKS EVC-S boost controller and coil overs
    • Apologies for the long read My R34 GTT was up for sale at the beginning of spring due to a few repairs creeping up. The strut tops needed replacing, roof and bonnet (hood) painting (yay for 3 stage pearl) and the underside stripped and treated. I sold the car which allowed me to be in a much better place financially. Leading up to the sale I was already thinking about the replacement. In an ideal world it needed to be a good all-rounder. Something I can mess around with, modify, do track days, do the school run, go on long drives etc.  Options included but not limited to... Laurel C35, Evo 8/9, Civic FD2, Impreza Hawkeye, Aristo and even an Audi S4 Avant (I've already got the Mazda 6 wagon). But there was always one car at the top of the list The Toyota Mark ii JZX110 I found an advert on a Facebook group for an example in Japan, from a seller called Jon at Rising Sun Exports. A few messages back and forth and Jon calls me from Yokohama one morning (or afternoon in his case). He briefly explained the import process, the costs involved and a repeat of the advert. After much deliberation, the price was agreed and the sale was locked in. I've never imported a vehicle so I jumped into the unknown head first. The money transfer was completed through wise.com (fees apply), very easy to use and the money was with him within a day or two.  The car suspension was raised for the vessel and the car dropped off at the port. It was 7 weeks later when the bill of lading was received and the freight invoice sent to me, followed by the export certificate a couple of days after (both digital copies) In the mean time the port had been in contact. I needed an agent to deal with the NOVA (notification of vehicle arrival) along with the tax/duty invoice, this was £75.00. The port also had a fee of £100, I'm guessing to cover the cost of the 10 day 'free storage' and for moving the car off the boat etc. They need a copy of the vehicle invoice, freight invoice and export certificate to allow the vehicle to pass through customs. The vessel arrived on Tuesday 5th August, the tax/duty invoice was generated and sent over. This is generally tax 20% and duty 10% of the vehicle value. Although the invoice came in at a higher amount than I had calculated. Once HMRC had received the payment the vehicle could be released from customs. I thought once the tax/duty was paid you could collect at any point, that's not the case. Your agent will need to book a collection slot, I requested Thursday 7th which was accepted, with a 9:00am slot allocated. It was a 5:00am start from Norfolk heading to Southampton. We eventually found the compound, upon presenting the bill of lading and some ID they released the car (they drove it out of the compound to the front ready for us to load up). The email from the port stated each slot had a 10 minute window, which seemed abit farfetched but the staff said it's not a strict rule. We were there for approx. 30-40 mins in total. A week prior to collecting I contacted my garage and explained the situation, I was able to get an inspection slot that afternoon. For the registration, DVLA require the car to be insured, for this I used a company called Adrian Flux who can insure the vehicle using the VIN number.
