In about a week's time i will have a R34 RB25 turbo for sale... perfect for high-flowing as it's got a larger housing than the R33s.

If not high-flow, the turbo is still in perfect order and goes very hard :P PM me if you're interested!

I've got one these turbos on my r32 and it goes hard! When the car hits boost it absolutely flies. Good for 190kwatw so I am getting there. Would have to say this is a great first upgrade if you want a bit more power and its reasonably inexpensive too

Just an update. I have installed an Apexi Power intake, made brakets for it and plumbed up a better CAI. I have purchased a justjap stage 2 FMIC and that will be going on this week. I got the car re-dyno'd and it came to 148rwkw. The dyno the previous owner used must have just been an optimistic one.

Once the new intercooler is on Ill be setting the boost to 14psi and start looking for a new turbo.

oh really?

with stock turbo, GTR cooler, 3 inch Trust Exhaust, HKS filter, GTR fuel pump and Greddy Profec EBC i ran 1 bar boost, and made around 155 rwkw's, the thing had plenty power.

now fitted with KKR 430 turbo, and at the dyno as i type. it should be good for 200 rwkw, with stock AFM, ecu and injectors.

Turbo will support 250 rwkw's if i can get injectors and AFM changed with a retuned ecu.

I am curently making 165 rwkw (221rwhp) on stock turbo and stock boost in shootout mode.

All i have done is front mount, exhaust, fuel pump and ECU.

I have not touched the boost on the thing so it should be at the standard 10-11psi?? That is what the RB20s run isnt it?

Soon i will have a FMIC spray hooked up and will be winding the boost up a bit.

    • Hell, I'm sufficiently wary of the ZSS suspension arms, let alone something like a hub.
    • Got it back home and got started pulling the hub off and diagnose the issue. Axle was stuck after removing the 36mm nut so i used a 3 jaw puller to try and push it out and... eH5FXvJ8.mp4   spend the next few hours trying to remove the axle from the remaining hub as it was very much jammed in there when the spindle sheared off. resulting damage as below R53AIy6 - Imgur.mp4   Looks like the was already a stress fracturing in the spindle as can be seen with the darker cracked section My working theory is maybe when the pinion gear exploded last year the shock put through the hub was the initial crack. Then a few events later it finally let go. Just lucky it happened where it did and not 190km/h on the next sweeper or into the hairpin The bearing/hub assembly went in in 2019 and were non-genuine "ZSS" assemblies and no nails were harmed in the process. #BreakHubsNotNails
    • Thanks mate, couldn't find in VIC, ended up ordering one from NSW, getting rwc to get new plates and registration done.
    • Before all the EFR fan boys come in, have a look at: https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing-and-performance/performance-catalog/turbo/g-series-ii-g30-825-58mm/ It also comes in a T4 1.06 divided housing. I would dare say if you want response & also decent power, this thing would chop.   AND apologies, just re-read your post, you've already bought the turbo... whatever you do, make sure you stick with divided housing and proper twin scroll manifold.
    • People have got to stop doing that. ShatGPT is not a search engine. It is a hallucination factory.   I also would recommend the 1.05. The .83 will "work" for you , in that it will be more responsive, but I think you'll find that it won't be anywhere near as good running it out to 8000rpm as the big housing will be.
