Hunter Valley Lunch Run, 29/03 (at last a date!)

Recommended Posts

I live near tuggerah in Berkeley Vale.....

I haven't had much attention to my Skyline yet, cause I only got it on Saturday, but I did get my first wave from a fellow skyline driver at Terrigal....

I would have waved back but I didn't see him until it was too late. at least my passenger waved back...

Tuggerah Macca's is a regular hangout cause of the large car park. I haven't been there yet, with the new girl.

Endorean: it might be best if u meet us near Wahroonga before we head to Homebush on the day as Homebush 6C will most probably be the first meeting point.

And if you do come, I would suggest bringing a CB radio to make it easy to stay in contact with what's going on :D

Endorean: Seriously where do all the cars hang out ? it would have only been about 10-11pm at Tuggerah Macca's and after these 7 or so guys left it was just me and the staff members (why is it coastie Macca's chicks are always cuter than those in the city ?)

RONIN:

well I dont mind going from Homebush 6C, and I've allready got a CB so that part is covered.

JIMBO:

Usually on a Saturday night, it's usually at the entrance or terrigal that they are at. If it's at terrigal, the REAL performance cars hang out near the big Skillion, the RICE RACERS and BOGAN MOBILES are at the first car park near the beach. It's a sad sight.

Ahh the skillion ... spent many a drunken moment rolling down it :D

Sweet, that's usually where I'll go if I'm up that way .... that way I can park the car, chill on the grass and look at some of that coastie eye candy ..... damn I miss the coast sometimes :P

Only thing I hate about the coast is that there are too many bogans out with piss in em who make nice cars need panel beating .... shame shame ...

Yes I totally agree with you on the bogan part...

although it is quite nice, blowing them off at the lights.... Only had my car for a few days at the moment and allready had about 4 'P' Plater d***heads in VN bogadores try and 'go' me at the lights.

The looks on there faces is quite priceless.

Hey, I'm a green P plater ;) Seriously, I know what you mean though, I had a worked VP try to go me the other night. Blew him away on two standing starts, then the fuc_ker tries to get me when I was stopped at the lights, he stayed a good 20 m back to get a rolling start against me .... still munched him, got a good launch and wound him within seconds :D

I outgunned a 255kw HSV thing Monday night... loved it. Then I got to the windies on the road I was on and I embarressed him SOOO badly that I felt embarresed for him (and that doesn't come easily as I hate bogandores).

sweeeeet.. im up at toukley every second sat... have always wondered where the cars are at on a fri/sat night

have been out driving many a times and have only been able to spot one skyline....

hrmmm will check out the entrance ??

the car park near the water im guessing or the main street ??

hrmmm might even sus out terrigal..

are there any runs or is it show and tell ???

yeah peats ridge is always good.

I'm always out trying new places to go on the coast and near newcastle.

If anyone is up on the coast and fancies a run, PM me I'll be glad to show around..

any update to the hunter valley run....

I have just thought, I really need an Avatar..

Goin up on Friday night with g/f, staying Sat night aswell.

Will meetup with you all there, just look out for the drunk guy staggering around a black R32 trying to teach his girlfriend to drive manual so he can get back to the hotel from the days "cheese" tasting. :D

Rhys.

heheeh.... sarcasism is apparent on that last one.... hehe lol.

hmm, you do have a point about the PM bit, so my mob num is 0403 53 6180.

was there anything going on on Friday night, there was a sh!teload of skylines around the coast. I was tailing on with a number plate EvilR34 or something to that effect.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
