What Is This Box

Hi, I actualy dont own a skyline.

I have a VT commodore but im asking on behalf of a cousin who has a R33 GTS.

We were going over the engine when she spotted a box in the top passenger side of the engine bay with electrical tape around it.

We undid the tape to fine a hole melted in the box.

Attached is a pic of the box.

We're just wondering what the box is for.
