i am really surprised stel that your car was running leaner rather than richer...  every line i know that just has boltons it richens up like no tomorrow did you have a bigger turbo or something ???

Standard turbo at the moment.

The car may have had some work done to it before i bought it and was brought back to basically standard, when we installed the SAFC the wires were already cut for an SAFC. I know the guy that owned the car before me so i might give him a call and ask him.

I was impressed with the result myself....

welcome to the world of skylines and fuel consumption, I can get 400k's if i realy realy watch my foot, but normaly 300 mark.

LOL. It is still a step up from my old car. 250km to a 65litre tank. And thats if I was trying to drive econimically.

Here's a link to the Blitz R-Fit. I still haven't had any feedback from anyone using it as yet. It looks pretty similar in features to the SAFC. However I do know a guy with a 180 that is about to get his installed and tuned so I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Just bought a second hand SAFC2 yesterday, pending delivery.

Been searching for ages, finally found one for sale before the rest noticed :D They're pretty sort after, everyone wants one but doesnt wanna spend the $400+ for a brand newie.

Sorry to dig up a really old thread but wanted to ask a few questions.

I managed to score myself a black SAFC2 from a guy on another forum, and it almost time to get it tuned somewhere. I am going to install it myself but wondering where fellow skyliners with SAFC's will recommend.

So for those of you who do have an SAFC, who installed it and how much was the install? Did you get dyno runs before and after or just afterwards?

I installed it myself, dead easy really.

Then took it to Ben at intune to get the tune done. He dyno'd it before and after, gained like 10kw accross the rev range and the beast uses much less fuel!

Very good results! Im considering this or saving more money and gettin a PowerFC dunno whether its worth it though

How much was the tuning of it Justin? I rang ESP and Trojan last week and both gave me around the same sort of price for install and tune. I have been recommeneded Autotech but they quoted me an outrageously high price for install tuning of it.

I have since decided to install myself, so I just want a tune done now.

Also does anyone know what dyno Trojan uses?

    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • Those above shitboxes, mediocre and above usually have a turbo strapped to them, hence the slightly higher octane is required.
    • Hi all,   long time listener, first time caller   i was wondering if anyone can help me identify a transistor on the climate control unit board that decided to fry itself   I've circled it in the attached photo   any help would be appreciated
    • I mean, I got two VASS engineers to refuse to cert my own coilovers stating those very laws. Appendix B makes it pretty clear what it considers 'Variable Suspension' to be. In my lived experience they can't certify something that isn't actually in the list as something that requires certification. In the VASS engineering checklist they have to complete (LS3/NCOP11) and sign on there is nothing there. All the references inside NCOP11 state that if it's variable by the driver that height needs to maintain 100mm while the car is in motion. It states the car is lowered lowering blocks and other types of things are acceptable. Dialling out a shock is about as 'user adjustable' as changing any other suspension component lol. I wanted to have it signed off to dissuade HWP and RWC testers to state the suspension is legal to avoid having this discussion with them. The real problem is that Police and RWC/Pink/Blue slip people will say it needs engineering, and the engineers will state it doesn't need engineering. It is hugely irritating when aforementioned people get all "i know the rules mate feck off" when they don't, and the actual engineers are pleasant as all hell and do know the rules. Cars failing RWC for things that aren't listed in the RWC requirements is another thing here entirely!
    • I don't. I mean, mine's not a GTR, but it is a 32 with a lot of GTR stuff on it. But regardless, I typically buy from local suppliers. Getting stuff from Japan is seldom worth the pain. Buying from RHDJapan usually ends up in the final total of your basket being about double what you thought it would be, after all the bullshit fees and such are added on.
