at least it was only a silvia that bit the concrete. good riddance i say. that engine got a chance to shine in a real car after that.

I really wanna come bob,

But im getting payed monthly now... I get payed on wednesday and its all gone + some as i preordered my xbox360,

What is the latest i can pay? Also being an SAU NSW Member i have a cams licence dont i?

Hey guys,

Get your payment in ASAP... this will be a top day that all can enjoy, I know I'm putting my name down, the car WILL be ready by then, so come on out and have a blat with me!

This day will be fantastic for all levels, from beginners to full race car's (all in different categories of course). And we can have a good old friendly time battle with the rotor boys and girls also... that is always some fun :)

If we are lucky the boys and I might get a chance to go for a drift sometime and smoke some serious rubber only inchs away from each other...

Be there or be square kids!

Dan.

Oh man, I really really wanna be in for this, but I've started having alot of trouble with cooling lately, and its put me back alot on getting the front mount :P

I may have to just come down to spectate, at least then I can check things out before I do em.

I sooooo wanted to start doing track days this year though :(

The day is structured in groups that go out together one every 10 seconds from the pits - not a grid. The groups will be of cars that are doing similar lap times.

Last track day we did two car sprints in the middle of the day for 5 laps which was fun and I think we are doing this again if there is enough interest.

Mr Plunk - perhaps you could start a thread for us to help you with your cooling problems.

Jay - we are always willing to help out newbies. We want you to be addicted to the track like us.

There is no test for the licence.

You need a helmet.

There are a few threads on here about getting your car ready for the track but we can easily tell you the basics when it gets closer to the day.

Also, one of the more experienced and level headed guys will be coming out with you on your first laps to give you pointers on saftey and how to get the most out of your car.

There are not many track days better for newbies than SAU/RENEW ones but the fast guys still get free rein in their group.

Does that help everyone?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
