Yeah i want a TV already got an lcd monitor.

I want to use HDMI cos then i can use the optical output on the TV to go straight into my amp and use only on imput on the amp. Instead of like 3, ie ps3, xbox360 and wii.

Plus i won't use the hi-fi for the sound all the time as dad dosen't want me using up his valves to play games. Not when they cost a few hundred bucks each and there is quite a few of them.

If you want I'll put a list of TVs in here with prices I can get them for you at so you have a good idea on what to shop around or even take them off me, I get them at wholesale price anyway.

Ok cool,

even just some ones that you would recommend.

One of my clients runs a electronics store so i can get most brands of LCD's at a good price, i'm currently looking at a samsung they look pretty good.

So what do you think about 1080p should i hold off for it or just get one that does 1080i?

for XBOX and watching sport. go the 1080p. its better for motion at hi res. Samsung and Panasonic both near same quality, Panasonic edges out with fantastic contrast ratios and marginally better image quality.

I just put my 3D card up for sale if anyone is interested. :spank:

What if you got an open space lounge, want to play during the day and there too much light to run a projector (expecting "tough!" back lol).

Plus, LCD 32 inch panasonic TV cost just as much as projector anyway, and you can watch it all day without eyes hurting.

u buy a cheap plasma that sits behind my drop down screen for everday stuff plus prog these day have lots more brightness and my contrast is amazing just a tip. Make for a awesome saterday night invite friends over to your cinema ;)

key word "night". Any projector isnt viewable during the day unless you got blinds, you got a plasma behind the white screen thats a smart move.

Id look at buying a plasma too mate for your Xbox360, or PS3. They have jumped down in price too and most are very good.

at the moment I can only offer you the:

LG 32" Wide 8ms LCD

1366 X 768 @ 60Hz, DVI, Black

which is going for $2000 i reckon, around there, I can get it to you for $1670.

Ive heard of a Panasonic LCD 32 inch with HDMI, but I havent got access to it yet. Only 40 inch LCDs and plasmas from panasonic and greater.

any ways whats you thoughts on the grundig LCD tv SAZilla

we got 1 and i think its very good picture

we only run foxtel digital with it and i dont think it came with HDMI

Vision II 32

EDIT just noticed the grundig does a HDMI via DVI-D optional cable required

that TV is fine for foxtel man, Maybe with a not so good aerial setup the digital tv (local) wont look that great, but for Fox it should be fine.

The only thing i hate about LCD TVs is that a good one needs to be 8ms and below response time and the contrast ratio needs to be same or better than 800:1. Plasma TV Contrast ratio is like 10,000:1.

But nah man, that TV looks nice and certainly looks like it would do the job without confusion.

Well i am posting this off of my new Sony KDL-32V2000

And it is absolutely amazing, i cannot believe how damn good it is.

Perfect as a monitor (just need wireless mouse and keyboard now) XBOX360 is just out of this world.

I cannot wait for ps3 using HDMi.

    • Oof, I will forevermore have those shredded gears in mind whenever someone talks about showing mechanical sympathy towards their car. Thanks for the photos, fascinating stuff!
    • Curious to see how the SpeedTek stuff holds up
    • The holdups last year were drivetrain related. I had the car out right after getting the bearing issue resolved. Third launch and the car didn't move after releasing the clutch. It had sheared all the engagement teeth off the 1st gear.    Thankfully no other damage was done. I set an aftermarket gear beside an OEM gear and found that the engagement teeth on the OEM gear were much larger and better supported. Looking through my bin of spare transmission gears I found that there are two types of tooth on the OEM first gears - the larger tooth and the smaller tooth. It looks like most aftermarket gearset manufacturers base their design on the smaller tooth. OEM large tooth left - Speedtek, OS Giken, etc or OEM small tooth right Decided to give that larger engagement tooth a try. Pressed the ring off an OEM gear and sent it to a transmission manufacturer here in the States. They did their "faceplating" operation with my synchro ring on the Speedtek gear.   I reassembled it, took it back to the track and promptly destroyed the gear itself.  I'll rebuild this and use it as a spare - thankfully just first gear and the countershaft are damaged beyond repair. Definitely disheartening but my welded on engagement tooth ring held up!  Moved to Speedtek's dog engagement design as the gears appear to be much stronger. So far they have taken much more abuse at the track. Also scored a Stillway lockout from the Netherands for super cheap. It's for some other RB transmission so it took a bit of fabrication to fit but honestly a very easy job. I also had to heavily modify the gates as they were very different.   Then for some reason at the last test and tune a silicon coupler below the throttle blew off and took out the radiator and fan. Thankfully it was in the burnout box and not down track. This car is really beating me up - I still haven't made a pass in it. Ran it through the gears many times on the street but it keeps biting me at the track.  Currently in the process of replacing the radiator and remaking the throttle pipe to remove the coupler and use a cast 90 and a vband. I WILL get this thing down the track...
    • Covers most of the above points really. There's a few exceptions but most just see driving as an irritating but necessary task they must complete if they want to get anywhere on time. Also see it as a good time to show their awesome multi-tasking abilities on their mobile and/or doing their makeup.
    • I don't believe I posted pictures of the second oil pump pickup I added so here they are. Data shows it gets oil pressure up to the relief pressure much earlier in the RPM. Is that important? Not likely... This was just another attempt to fix the bearing issues.   I also heavily opened up the inlet to the pump since it now had to flow oil from two pickups. I believe the diameter increased about 1/8".
