Make sure you take lots of Piccys for me :) And we shall have to have another when I get my P's (22nd September )

Can't come, Chris?

Us Newy people should organise to meet up, and head on down together :)

Can I leave it in your hands to handle that side of it then, Beastien?

I hate bloody weddings, always blows my mind why the bride wears white to a bloody wedding. that'd be a moster drycleaning bill

hehe, enough of that. i'm still waiting to see if i can get that weekend off from the missus. looks like it'll be a big one

Still waiting to hear from:

illusiVe - Blue Mountains

fergo308 (Justin) - Eastern Sydney

wolverine - ???

Are you guys/girls keen to come along?

And AlexCim and Terminal, will you be making the trip North?

Post 1 updated with Destination details...

I was thinking the people from Newcastle could meet up at the BP at the start of the F3 and cruise from there.

I think it's only Me, Krissy, and depending on where Neostagea lives, if this is convenient for him also.

Let me know peoples, once we get a time, we can organise a time to meet up and head on down.

so what time are we going to be meeting up and where?

how about us sydney people meet up at P6 at homebush and cruise from there?

If you're coming from out West, is it easier for us to meet along the M2, maybe where the M2 and M7 meet up? I live around 5mins from the start of the M2, so it saves us both from travelling all the way to Homebush and then coming back again...

Let me know.

Proposed meet up time will be around midday at Soldiers Beach. Leave Sydney metro around 10.30am-ish?

Will be heading towards the coast tomorrow, so I will try and figure out an exact meeting spot, travel times, etc.

yeah m2 sounds fine. so is this gonna be happening on the saturday or the sunday?

saturday is better for me.

I was gonna do it Sunday, but Saturday would be easier for me too - less worry about getting home late and not feeling like going to work the next day...

At least this way we can afford to stay out there a bit later and not rush home

ok at the moment i'm still in

just a question which day have we decided on?

saturday or sunday?

depending on which day it is depends if i can make it.

the other half has a car show on the sunday, and I have to make an appearence.

let us know soon so I can organise baby sitters.

Saturday it is..

Went to Soldiers Beach today, and the area is beautiful, and a perfect spot for a meet-up.

Since this is the first cruise I've organised, I'm going to keep it simple - everything is BYO, and I'm not going to take some elaborate route to get there, even though it would be nice to find some driving roads on the way there and back. There is a chance we may divert slightly onto the old Pacific Highway if there are more than 3 cars heading up from Sydney and we need to re-group.

Oh yeah, please remember to bring your UHF radios with you on the day, if you have them!

sorry guys i'm out ;) with it being on a saturday. mt bloody 2ic quit on wed so i can't swap days over with anyone now. u will need to take plenty of pics for all of us that can't go.

Damn shame that.

As for the photos, I'm sure I won't have the only camera there!

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
